I have experience with most of the places mentioned here so far. I also second the composite over steel toe suggestion.

Sid Boedeker is just okay in my opinion. I got some work boots from there in 2014, but was really disappointed in their selection to choose from. I was wanting a traditional brown leather somewhat western-style boot. They carry all kinds of safety shoes, and it may be different now, but I thought that specifically their brown boot selection was poor.

I really like Hewlett and Dunn in Collierville. They have a huge selection of boots and carry safety boots as well. Pretty sure they supply every model Ariat imaginable. Cool store in general and I like to support a local business. I went there last month to try on this boot and will return to purchase it soon.

I got some Iron Rangers from Red Wing last year. Not really work boots, but I was very pleased with how I was treated as a customer there and would definitely return. They have a machine that you can step on that measures each foot and gives you a size recommendation along with a report on your arch and pressure points.

Academy Sports does seem to have a decent selection from the times I have been there and they always seem to have great prices. Never bought a boot from them though.

Certainly. I'm not sure exactly how you want to develop your thesis, but an interesting point anthropologically is diet over the generations.

My grandfather lived through the great depression and used to eat very similarly - high fat, high calorie but as cheap as he can. My parent then lived in the boom during the 50s and 60s where food became abundant and affordable. Meats were still considered a luxury item and have moved toward a high protein, high animal meat diet. Heavily processed foods also entered at this time. This has led to a significant increase in many of the chronic diseases we experience today. This new generation is starting to pave some new changes to organic, locally sourced, healthy foods.

Of course this is completely over simplified as traditions and culture are slow to change. There's even a great case study about how the US gov't tried to sell less desirable meats (like liver) during the World Wars so the soldiers could have the short supply of better meats and how they tried to instill change. I think I read more about this in the book Power of Habit

Good luck to you in which ever direction you go!

> That's not really worth much honestly. Especially if you've only got a few hours

There's a lot of history behind the street in general, so for someone with a little knowledge of the history, it can be fascinating to see. Beale St Dynasty is a great book for the curious. :)

Most men's clothing are pretty archetypal, and honestly the stuff you'd find in Target's Goodfellow line is representative of a lot of mall brands but in a lower quality/synthetics. Banana Republic, J.Crew, and Abercrombie & Fitch carry a lot of the same things but in fuller or thicker fabrics that may be as cheap as Target on sale. All three stores often have 40-60% off and all sport a 15% off email sign-up code that you can keep getting with burner emails, for instance, in-store and online. Sub to /r/frugalmalefashion to be alerted of any sales that stand out.

If you're willing to forgo the traditional shopping experience then online second-hand is a way to go. Grailed.com, /r/malefasionmarket, and the B/S/T threads in /r/malefasionadvice, and eBay all have folks looking to move things but you'll benefit greatly to know your size and what you're looking for whether it be a brand or type of item. You can often find higher-end items for pretty reasonable prices—stuff like raw denim and premium jackets/shirts—for a fraction of or a "good for what they are" price.
Grab a cloth measuring tape and learn to measure using your favorite-fitting clothing on a flat surface for reference as most people are willing to provide their item's dimensions for you (if they haven't posted them already).

If you happen to be a M-L-slimish person or a 34" waist check out my Grailed store for something that catches your eye. I've a bunch more to upload but I've been too lazy/depressed and measuring everything takes a good minute per item.

I've never had it (or made it) but I've had really good results of other Japanese recipes from these sites. I'm assuming the broth is a dashi base (a fish based cooking broth) with mirin (sweet cooking sake), sake, and soy sauce.

Don't know where you live but any decent asian grocery should have most of those ingredients. For dashi, I usually use a powder instead of making from scratch. Also easy to use to make miso soup, just a cup of dashi broth and a tbs of a good miso, yum. If you make a trip to an Asian grocery, don't forget the Shichimi, really good sprinkled on a udon soup.

do it yourself , i had a big problem a few years back and havent seen a roach since .. here's a list of stuff i used and had plenty left over but never needed it.. 1st i cleaned everything and everywhere , i removed light switch cover and took pretty much everything out of my kitchen .i used the stuff below and just cleaned everyday.

Gentrol Point Source IGR Insect Growth Regulator , IGR is one thing you will want , it stops growth & causes females to abort eggs . you can get it in a bottle /traps , i bought a small bottle and have some leftlink

Maxforce FC Magnum Roach Bait 1.16 oz BA1029 , this is a bait that kills on contact they dont have to eat this stuff ... when the roach dies any other roach that comes along and eats them will die as well ..link

Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder With Lure, 16 oz. i used this stuff behind light covers & places i couldn't reach with a puffer bottle , . i made roach cookies too using peanut butter & boric acid into little clumps and removed it after a few days .. ..link

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN , roaches will eat just about anything and can go a long time without eating so only leave baits and stuff for them to consume ! i used bleach in drains & antiseptic cleaners

I have the Clip+ and it can last all day playing music. It charges via USB->mini usb so as long as you have the cable and like an ipod charger you will be fine. It can hold a 32GB micro SD card giving you a total of 36GB of storage if you get the 4GB base model. You can get a 32GB card for under $20 now too. Thats a total price of about $60 for 36GB of storage and an MP3 player. The card can go in most smartphones too to expand storage.

Be aware though, these sometimes go on "refurb" sales where they get large stocks of refurbished models. I got my Clip+ from Amazon as a refurb for $17. So if you can wait and score that you can get a very cheap MP3 player.

Just found the red Clip+ 4gb version is being sold by Amazon for $23 used in like new condition.

That makes it like $45 for a 36GB mp3 player if you combine the SD card. I think its a decent deal.

You dont even need winamp to manage the files. If you know how to navigate file directories pretty well then you can manage it by dragging and dropping files. Like the other guy said you can modify it by installing Rockbox firmware but only do this if you like messing around with techy stuff. I did it and it works fine but there are bugs every now and then.

I think they are all around better than the low end iPods that cost 4x as much but its going to be up to you to decide if it fits your needs. Oh and they have a clip on the back to attach to clothing for running with or taking to the gym. End of rant.

I'm a big fan of Proraso products myself. They are easy to lather, smell great, and last a long time. I've had my most recent tube for over 6 months. They do make a soap for sensitive skin here. It's also available in a tube if you prefer that. You might could try Sephora in the mall as well. Supposedly they sell some decent shave soaps but I've never checked myself. Hopefully that helps you out! :)

The southeast is a pretty conservative place. A great book that details the hows of the Republican parties stronghold in the southeast is Earl and Merle Black's "The Rise of Southern Republicans".

Yes we went to the laundromat and then also purchased the steamer for things that couldn't be laundered. Besides that, the 3 best things are bed post interceptors, a good mattress encasement and CimeXa desiccant

Hello fellow furry dog owner. My dog sheds too. I found that adding one of these to my car helps alot. They are super easy to take in and out.

I'm reasonably pleased with it, but really, a cheaper one would probably work just as well. The GPS sensor is separate and connects by a wire. It's very sensitive to placement and, as you see from this video (speed 0) it doesn't work if you don't put it in a good spot.

I've dropped off books to the Cordova branch. There's a loading dock you can pull up to. The ones they can't use they sell at the semi-annual Friends of the Library book sale. Usually they only shelve mainstream publishers which means you can find some really good subversive/independent literature at the sale. In fact at the last sale I paid a $1 for a new book listed for $161 on Amazon.

Asked Vietnamese friends the same question, they pointed us to this:
https://smile.amazon.com/Quoc-Viet-Foods-Chicken-Flavored/dp/B00JE2G7NY/ref=sr_1_13_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1540218761&sr=1-13&keywords=pho%2Bsoup&th=1

We've been using it for years, and it's pretty close if not the exact thing you're going to get at most vietnamese restaurants.

I buy mine on Amazon. They're cheap and come rolled up and expand into a totally normal mattress. Not sure what price point you're looking at, but for $140 this is pretty decent.
