Please be sure to read the reviews at that page of this book.
it took me longer to skip to the problem, than it did to see the pattern. I'm not sure what other pattern there would be.
Are you looking at the answers before you solve it and trying to plug them in to find a pattern or do you solve it and then see if your answer is there? the only time i would ever double check my method would be if my first assumption isn't there or if 20 problems later i'll get a feeling maybe one of the other answers was a better choice.
You might want to look at things like this or one of these, they can help you learn the different techniques used to solve these types of problems and practice identifying what they are asking you to do. Most of the visual ones are just a geometry question designed to test your spatial reasoning. after a while you won't really even need to look for a pattern, your brain will just give you the answer, kinda like 2+2=4, you don't actually add them or visualize units.

Might help. Only started reading it, so not sure how effective it will be, but 4 1/2 ratings.
I respectfully disagree.
I know this isn't exactly what you're saying, but just to share with you, in my opinion, having too much empathy causes people to make irrational decisions; it causes people to use poor judgment.
I would rather people be high in intelligence and low in empathy (but not nonexistant) than high in empathy and low in intelligence.
