Sure, it's ISBN 1572594918. Well, to be accurate, that's Volume 1 of the books, as shown here. I also have Volumes 2 & 3, and two solutions manuals (the first being solutions for Volume 1, the second being solutions for Volumes 2 & 3 combined).

Almond flour is very expensive generally, even if you do find it. Easiest is to buy shaved almonds in bulk and coffee bean grinder those up. Done

There are a few shit brands of stevia in Canada like krisda (terrible aftertaste) and truvia also has this gross after taste. I would recommend ordering Wholesome sweetners online which tastes much better or getting the Trader Joes brand. You can get Wholesome sweetners in Canada at Whole Foods, but I don't think Montreal has one. Amazon, however: http://www.amazon.com/Wholesome-Sweeteners-Organic-Stevia-75-Count/dp/B00511MJO8

Porkrinds should be around somewhere but again, maybe amazon or the US if you are really wanting them.

Install a fake surveillance camera and a sign indicating a "Caméra Arrêt" is nearby. Bonus points if you can make the sign look official like this one.

I got this because it was just to see if I would actually like playing stick. Now that I do, i'm definitely looking to upgrade to something with more quality

Buy this

Also available in many stores that sell kitchen equipment.

You will never have a dull blade again. Honing knives are good to keep a sharp blade, but they don't sharpen a dull blade very well.

Also, those <$10 aluminum snow brushes you see at every grocery store are perfectly fine as long as you're not an absolute midget. I've cleared a family member's Dodge Caravan with one no problem. That's a 5'6" high vehicle and I'm a 5'8" tall guy. You just have to be comfortable overhanding it.

I read his legacy and the message was similar. Basically he's been fighting for the environment through every imaginable legal avenue as a prominent expert and Canadian icon for like 50 years. He's hit brick wall after brick wall and watched as everyone stood by and let environmental policies crumble over the years. I'd be surprised if he wasn't incredibly pissed.

I just finished a book about the history of cycling in Amsterdam. Everything that people say about cycling in Montreal now sounds exactly like Amsterdam complaints over decades past... and the Amsterdammers had it way rougher. German occupiers did NOT like Dutch cyclists...

But now Amsterdam is an amazing place for biking... and it certainly was not at first.

Le Bled!

Man, I remember this book from high school and my French teacher often saying in her somewhat nasal voice: "Sortez votre bled!". Madame Cousineau was it? Anyway, here's a link to Amazon France so you can read the reviews (all 5 star except for 1 that is 4 star). Funnily enough, it's available at amazon.com but not .ca.

I would imagine it it's available at many French bookstores as well.

Quebec anglo here, my childhood experience was somewhat like this except I didn't bury my head in my phone. I bought a Bescherelle and a Larousse. Learn french! If you start bringing it, they'll see you trying, and they'll help you!

Edit: Walk into any bookstore downtown and you'll find these there.

Yup, it is true. Go to Main and Terminal in Vancouver during the summer and every squeegee kid out there is speaking français toujours. It is the epicentre of squeegee activity in BC.

Edit: Charlie Demers has written about this if you're interested in finding out more.

Don't know about the quality though. It really is the kind of thing you should pay more, for two reasons: 1. as soon as they're not waterproof anymore (hole in the sole, cracked shell) they're worse than useless, and 2. if that happens during winter, you'll have to purchase new ones right then, at full price rather than now when you can take your time for a sweet deal.

That being said, I tried comparing with Amazon, and don't know if you're looking for men or women boots, but there are some Sorel going for 100 bucks, sometimes depending on the seller I don't pay the provincial tax on Amazon, which is a nice plus. So I'll probably go for these myself!

Get a good Ushanka hat with a face mask like this

u/joerussel · 5 pointsr/montreal

why surprised dude? law 101 is basically a non-issue now and in many ways can be credited with lowering the immediacy of the sovereignty movement (at least according to Graham Fraser ). Its reached political normalcy in Quebec. Because of it, something like 90% of anglos under 35 are bilingual. You are never going to repeal it, most people or politicians should move on and focus on more important/relevant issues effecting Montrealers/Quebecois.

This is an excellent book based around Montreal culture. There's even a quote from it on the $5 bill!
