Deleted my other post on this as I figured everyone would rather see the pics than a link to the band...

I originally assumed I'd do the stainless band since I have the stainless/silver 360 but have to say the grey leather strap really grew on me while I was trying to figure out what kind of metal bands were out there that'd work.

If it wasn't for the lack of a easier to remove clasp on the leather strap that came with the 360, I might have even kept it on there.

I found after a full day of wearing the leather band though that moisture was getting stuck under the watch due to sweat and hand washing.

Since the leather strap is to much of a pain to quickly remove every time I washed my hands, I'd just not bother.

With the metal band, the quick release clasp on the bottom makes it very quick to remove/loosen the watch to dry under there after each hand washing now.

Here's the matte black version

Here's the stainless steel verson

You'll need to either use the spring bars/pins that came with the watch or buy some like these.

Best Buy also sells the same Pebble Steel bands for the same price as Amazon which is where I got mine from.

Some tips with removal and install. The spring bar/pin holes in the Moto 360 are made from plastic. Be extra careful with removal and putting the new ones back in. If you misshapen or break those holes, you're screwed.

If you don't have a proper spring bar tool like this, you'll need a jewelers sized flathead screw driver.

Getting the existing bands out is the easy part, I found putting the new band back in with the spring bars that came with the leather strap to be a lot more tricky in the metal band. I found the best way was to try and compress the springs on both ends of the bar and go straight into the opening. If you try to put one side of the spring bar in first then compress the other side, it didn't want to fit.

I enlisted my wife with her tiny little hands to assist and it made things a lot easier :P

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Actually just finished a few minutes ago. Got the battery in the mail earlier this week but had company in town, so I just got around to the install.

I followed the iFixit guide, and things went pretty smoothly. I got the battery on Amazon.

I started by removing the strap and heated the back of the watch with a microwavable rice bag, but the adhesive was so strong that the back ended up cracking anyway, and the foil liner inside wasn't going to come out in one piece either, so I just said "screw it" and broke the back in half to get it off. Since I had one easily accessible, I used the leftmost of the spudgers here to get the watch separated from the case, and miraculously without any damage to the metal housing. I went about this by:

  • Using the pointed tip to carefully and patiently pry at the openings in this photo at 2, 4, 8, and 10 o'clock.
  • Once I had the o-ring groove available, I used the flat end of the spudger to gently pry the black shell out of the metal housing, working my way around the perimeter of the watch. I broke the o-ring in the process, but was careful not to damage the motherboard or sensors.
  • I would recommend holding the mic to your left and button to your right with the back of the watch facing up, which will put the LCD ribbon cables at 12 o'clock. The pictures on iFixit are a bit deceiving since they are upside down from the direction that you'd be working on the watch.

Once I got things separated, the hard part was over. I used the blue plastic tools that came with the battery to pry the motherboard out of the black shell. After disconnecting the battery connector (comes straight off the board), a simple pull of the pull tab on the battery and it came right out. Mine was puffed up with some kind of gas or air pocket.

I had some 2mm adhesive tape left after replacing the digitizer on my tablet, and this came in very handy attaching the new battery. Probably not entirely necessary, but I've got a huge roll of this stuff.

As for the o-ring, I used a #40 o-ring (3/4" o.d. x 5/8" i.d. x 1/16") and stretched the hell out of it to get it to fit in the old groove. This worked great because, being stretched that far, it ended up being thin enough to match the original one almost exactly. I applied a little silicone spray to my finger, wiped it around the o-ring, and carefully pushed the black shell back into in the metal housing, using the blue pry tools to guide the o-ring in where it looked like it might be getting caught.

All in all, took me about an hour start to finish, and went pretty smoothly. If you're comfortable with the idea of doing it yourself, I'd plan to replace the back cover as well unless you are really lucky getting yours off in one piece. Didn't take much to crack mine.

I tried a few, but like this the best. The current one has been on since about Oct 20th. What I found to be the key is that glass protectors need to be absolutely perfectly aligned. Since there is a bevel on the screen, if a glass protector extends over the bevel even a hair it will soon crack. The last one I installed with a head band magnifying glass to see to align it perfectly. The non glass protectors of course are more forgiving. These come very well packaged and two to an order. I suggest ordering 2 packages as they take a while to get and you'll want spares as they do eventually get broken. You can get the Super Engineer Type II from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/20mm-Engineer-Stainless-Straight-Band-Push/dp/B00CSE7JQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422474156&sr=8-1&keywords=super+engineer+ii+20mm

It looks and feels amazing and I've had no cracks since I got it 6 weeks ago.

If you want a perfect fit and don't mind paying quite a bit extra for the privilege, I recommend this version of the Super Engineer Type II with the adjustable Wetsuit clasp that can slide in and out until it fits perfectly:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/20mm-Engineer-Stainless-Bracelet-Brushed/dp/B00NV4PE7G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422474268&sr=8-1&keywords=super+engineer+ii+20mm+wetsuit

Here's a video showing how to install the Super Engineer Type II, but remember you need the Wetsuit Clasp (not the clasp in the video) if you want a perfect fit.

Hahaha geez, that's an intense tangent. I actually thought the wire was see through but coincidentally, I do have something like that. It's not bad. Sometimes it will just randomly deplete its charge and it's hard getting the watch to sit very well because it's flat but otherwise it has very good battery life and is quite portable. It's a 4.8 A so it can charge my One M8 like 3 times.

No. Heart rate monitor does not require direct connection in between the skin and the cover. It is done by shooting inferred laser to the skin and optics see the blood flow change(as your heart pumps). Best result will be given under the right circumstances, which is pitch dark area on the back plate. As you see on the Product picture, there is a cut out hole that lets that happen. Heart rate monitor will be fine

Super glue is far too brittle to work with a silicone like the loop is made of. A better option would be a silicone adhesive like this: http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-82180-Maximum-Resistance-Silicone/dp/B0002UEN1U .

The problem is that as the loop stretches the super glue would not stretch with it, causing stress and cracking in the cured super glue layer.

I know you want OEM, but, just an FYI, I tried this cheap one from Amazon that I had gotten for my Nexus 5 and it works great.

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Charger-Enabled-Charging-Smartphones/dp/B00EM2CMT4/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0KPJXP3T5QSDB3NE0YR3

It's small, round, cheap, and the phone fits perfect in the middle. Charges with no issues.

EDIT: Amazon changed the item I linked to, updated to the right one.

I've had Jaybird Bluebud x for a few years. While good, they were silly expensive. There are some great CHEAP bluetooth sets available now. I just bought these ones, and honestly, they sound better than the Bluebuds.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01AJHSR5I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I will say that I've had a few issues with dropouts while running (i.e. drop out for 1/2 second then comes back). But I'm okay with that for the price and sound.

u/swimbikerunrun · 2 pointsr/moto360

It really is. I went to best buy and bought this type of screen protector. The guy installed it flawlessly so I didn't mind the price. It fixes issue with looking at the screen while wearing polarized sunglasses.

http://www.amazon.com/MobilePioneer-Hardness-Tempered-Premium-Protector/dp/B00J8ICQKM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1410215195&sr=8-3&keywords=htc+one+m8+glass+screen+protector

Best buy had a different brand and it was $30 I think. Oh well.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/moto360

bought these they apply wet and look shitty for like 2 days, and then you dont even notice them. they scratch a little easy, but they provide lifetime replacements, and its easy to do. would definitely recommend

My second charger:

http://imgur.com/7Zha6ng

I just got it today and so far it works great, Qi battery pack, Im sur eyou could pretty easily just slip the back around the whole thing.

Got it here:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HFTLXPK/ref=pe_385040_121528360_TE_dp_1

Price is pretty reasonable i think, so far it is charging watch just as fast as cradle, no trouble getting a good connection, just set it on the circle and it beeps and starts charging.

u/laughapnea · 1 pointr/moto360

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OA3EYUA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_WWkAwbD33KH25 they don't sell them competitively anymore, but there should be better deals that come up on amazon once you search it. It's not really a great product but it works; use it as a starting point and you should be able to find better ones out there that fit the bill.

u/Ultimaknight7 · 1 pointr/moto360

I use two third party ones, plus the stock leather that came with my watch when I want to look fancy. Depending on my mood, I either use this metal link band:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0111I89ES/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_wBI8wbNMSRG6W

Or this silicone one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019IE0V7U/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_uCI8wb9G2F5RW

I've thought about getting the TYLT, but I've heard it is way too large on an average wrist. I'm sure I'll pull the trigger eventually. The only thing that is annoying about either of those is in the metal band. The quick release pins aren't set in the links. So when I take it off of the watch, I can completely remove them from the band. Thats not really that big of an issue though. Hope that helps!

u/AEnKE9UzYQr9 · 2 pointsr/moto360

It doesn't look as good as the original back, but I put one of these front-and-back protectors on the back of my 360 over the raw plastic. Not sure if it's as waterproof as the original back, but it probably helps a bit, at least.

u/swordstool · 1 pointr/moto360

FYI this one works too. I have it at work to charge my LG G3 wirelessly, but I tested it with the Moto 360 and it's fine, just have to make sure it's pushed up against the back since it's not flat.

u/dunger · 1 pointr/moto360

I had that watch and same thing happened to me. I used this to repair. This stuff is like magic. Although, looks like it might be out of stock.

Bought the strap here

Had a jeweler install it. Took him 10 minutes. Charged me $4 (though I gave him $10 for the great job/fast turn-around)

Thoughts?

I bought some nice quick release spring bars from Amazon.

Edit: https://amzn.com/B00Q7XE866

u/EllKayHaitchBee · 3 pointsr/moto360

Sounds like the internal coil spring in the band pin may have broken. As /u/PMmeYrButtholeGirls said, they should be easily replaced. Something like this should work.

u/The-Strike · 1 pointr/moto360

I was able to fit this same band, but with lots of effort. I had to carefully shave down the ends, add the notch, and do a couple other things. But I got it to work! Keep trying!

This one, right?

u/s0m3f00l · 1 pointr/moto360

I like the jp leatherworks panerai I use the one below, but I encourage you to explore. Don't limit yourself. I've had my band for 2 months no cracking no issues.

u/tamudude · 1 pointr/moto360

I bought https://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Protector-Anti-Bubble-Replacements/dp/B00K2CY46M and applied it on my Moto360 Gen1 which is missing the back cover as I broke it during battery replacement.. Looking good so far. Will see how well it holds up.

u/jamchampnate · 1 pointr/moto360

I haven't seen any but I bought this and just put it on this morning. You literally can't tell the difference with it on the screen. You could always try the screen/back/sides and if you don't like the screen part just take it off.

I should also mention that although this isn't Prime eligible I ordered it on Monday and it arrived Friday. http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Smartwatch-Anti-Bubble-Replacements/dp/B00K2CY46M/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1411329614&sr=8-8&keywords=moto+360+full+body
