I changed my tyres this weekend for a nice new seat of Michelin Road 5's. Got a guy to mount and balance them on the rims for 30EUR and figured I'd do the removal and installation myself.
It was a bit more of an adventure than I'd hoped...
Removal went fine, I just had to drive around a bit to find someone who sold a 17 mm hex socket to remove the front axle. I really dig the hoverbike look.
Issues came when reinstalling. Rear wheel went on easily enough but when I installed the front wheel and tried to remount my calipers one of the bolts snapped due to probably over tightening it (don't buy cheap long torque wrenches and trust that the lower values will be accurate). To remove the snapped bolt I had to take my front wheel out again. When I removed the broken bit I tried to remount the front tyre but my bike started slipping from the front paddock stand since it's a bit too wide and the bike was maybe shifting around a bit. Luckily I had a ladder and ratchet strap nearby to lift it a bit that way. Got a new bolt this morning and now i can finally enjoy these great new tyres.
Oh cool, if i'd had known we could have done some duo v7 riding :) Maybe if the weather clears up again.
I used the stocks for about 2 rides before i replaced them, i didn't like them much. I'm more for a clear view. The bar ends are convex, so i see a lot in them, practically no dead corners. I bought them cheap in some motoshop in Aalst when i saw them on display. I just wanted to try if it would work. They are very cheap and are found all over the internet. Just search for bar end mirrors There are more expensive options, but i imagine these things are the first to break off... You have to take in account that the bars for the V7 are threaded at the ends (god, why?). So you either have to use the screw of the bar end weight, or use another M6 bolt to fit them on.
About the veering to the right, do you have it at all speeds and how hard? For me it's quite hard, i let go and immediately it veers to the right and within 3 seconds i have to take hold again, otherwise i'll just ride of the road.
Didn't know about the plate rule; will follow it next time, thanks for the heads up.
maybe try the jvc marshmellow earbuds, they use memory foam you have to roll a bit to fit in your ear, like you would do with earplugs.

FYI: Mannesmann M98430 set. Add some good single parts like the 17mm hex you linked. And this will cover everything you ever need. It might not be facom quality, but it's a damn nice set. For using it a few times a year, it's more than enough.
