On affordability: Both CNT's Housing + Transportation Index and the Brookings Institution's Affordability Index have found that transit access has a positive impact on affordability even when housing prices are factored in. For a quicker read, here's a CityLab article breaking down the data with charts.

On driverless cars: Here's a well-sourced AVs piece from leading expert Jarrett Walker, a review of studies showing ride-hailing's negative impact on transit, and some hard data from the Boston planning commission showing the same.

On transit and health: I would first recommend the seminal Urban Sprawl and Public Health. More recently, this study of transit and mental health, this one from AHA on transit and heart health, and a research overview from NIMH!

Bus improvements being in the plan is, well, in the plan — as are pike improvements. There's plenty out there on transit and economic growth, transit and disability, etc. Happy to help.

> “Wilshire Baptist Church Associate Pastor Mark Wingfield has written extensively on the topic of transgender issues and the church. An article he wrote on the topic went viral, and since then he's talked to hundreds of transgender people and has written a book called ‘Why Churches Need to Talk about Sexuality.’”

> ”‘The most astounding thing to me about Christians who condemn people for being transgender is that I cannot procure in my mind a single verse of Christian Scripture that would be applicable to this situation,’ he said.”

Mr. Wingfield seems poorly acquainted with the Bible.

Genesis 1:27 — “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Genesis 5:1-2 — “This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.”

Deuteronomy 22:5 — “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”

1 Corinthians 11:2-3, 14-16 — “I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Does not nature itself teach you that for a man to wear long hair is degrading to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her pride? For her hair is given to her for a covering. If any one is disposed to be contentious, we recognize no other practice, nor do the churches of God.”

Moreover, the early church fathers clearly condemned effeminate men; pederasty; homosexual sex acts, including, but not limited to, sodomy; lesbianism; cross-dressing; and other sexual and gender-related acts, lifestyles, practices, etc. they understood to be perverse.

Throughout all of Christian history, the only morally justifiable and acceptable mode of human sexuality is chaste, loving sexual intercourse between a husband and wife (though monogamy has not always been taboo, particularly among 1st through 3rd century Christians). Therefore, when this unfortunate young lady decided to medically, and otherwise, alter her appearance, she did so knowing full well what the college’s most likely response would be. Nevertheless, she decided to continue to modify her appearance, surgically and otherwise, to resemble a man.

When one does what she did, they should expect to get what she got. This should surprise no one.

Furthermore, unless one is simply hostile to the unchanging, unchangeable Christian teaching on human sexuality and the family that has prevailed for thousands of years, one should respect Welch College’s decision, for it was made in a manner consistent with their sincerely held religious beliefs. For them to have done otherwise would have been hypocritical. Secular humanists, and other anti-religious people, frequently cite hypocrisy as an objection to religion. Criticizing people for being hypocrites and criticizing them for sincerely practicing their faith is intellectually dishonest, and not a good faith approach to engaging religious people in meaningful conversations about social, moral, or other issues.

I generally buy a 5 pack at Climb Nashville, rather than the membership - since I have a hard time committing to regularity. I don't have my grip endurance built up, so normally I can't hold onto the wall after more than half an hour. I'll generally try to tie in some cardio, a class, or some lower body stuff so I feel like I get my time and money's worth.

What I love most about climbing is the strategic part to it. Sure you can power up a wall, but it takes strategy and finesse to be able to stretch your endurance.

Performance Rock Climbing is a great book I read in high-school when I started climbing. It really helped me work on technique.

Both East and West have great routes from 'just more challenging than a ladder', to 'I don't think a nickel counts as a foothold'. They're all marked, so its easy to realistically challenge yourself.

What I have is basically this, https://www.amazon.com/APC-Battery-Protector-Back-UPS-BE425M/dp/B01HDC236Q/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=apc+modem&qid=1565154753&s=electronics&sr=1-3 I bought it when it was the year end model and is white. Apparently it is not as cool as the black one, but I paid like $30 for it, maybe $25, I am not sure. But any how it keeps my cable modem online for about 3-4 hours. Supposedly at least. I think the most I have had it tested was about 2 hours. But anyhow for $25 its well worth it for me. I have an apc on my desktop that I work from, so they kind of work in tandem.

Edit:

Oh wow I looked it up because I bought it off amazon. This is what I bought. https://i.imgur.com/nEFgdZU.png which apparently now is worth worth $100 to some people, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NTQYUA8/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The University School classes are probably the best in town, but they don't release the catalog until around thanksgiving, and the classes usually occur in the first few months of the new year.

Chef Jamie Watson is a local chef who does mostly French cuisine, which is perfect for learning techniques, and he does some intensive workshops from time to time. The Salud school at Whole Foods is probably the next best option, but I haven't heard great things. You also may want to consider a book; I'd recommend this one.

Evelyn Frye Center has couples therapy and they usually take insurance as well as EAP.

in the meantime, you might look into grabbing a copy of this book to kickstart a helpful dialog between you are your significant other. My wife and i found it to be a good starting place to dealing with interpersonal difficulties.

Talk to Me Like I'm Someone You Love, by Nancy Dreyfus

PM me and i'll happily give you our copy.

Even some of the Christian ones can help you. They're not all stuck thinking only God can make you better. Worth trying at least.

Otherwise, I really recommend Sam-E supplements on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Made-Complete-400mg-Tablets/dp/B0002D150Y

Cheaper than your normal antidepressants and in a couple weeks my friends and family noticed a big difference.

You're welcome! I love what I do. It's just volunteer, but I've been doing it across two states for 12 years now. I love it.

And to be honest - I kind of always liked those little "nothing" calls where we go visit a family that's worried, or clearly new at this, and help them understand alarms, maybe even some CO checks, etc.

Also, buy a fire extinguisher. You know you need one. ;) :P

I agree. The key is to be professional and courteous. Have a designated event organizer, respect other people, and clean up the best you can. Have everyone stay after it's over and clean up the area on ground.

When I play airsoft, we have a rule- leave the area cleaner than it was when we got there. Sure, there are BBs everywhere if it's outdoors, but we pick up all the trash even if it was there before we got there, and we leave the site with the trash bags, putting new ones in. Even if the trash bags were full already. A public park is not very different. Don't give them a reason to want you gone and they won't ask you to go.

Ninja Edit: Also, be sure to use biodegradable balloons.

I ordered this hands-free mount from Amazon and it's a good one. Thanks to voice recognition I can say "Hey Google, load the TDOT Smartway webserver" and it'll pop up. And with Bluetooth, I can take calls over my car's stereo system instead of using my hands. If you have an older car without Bluetooth, you can add it for $18 with this adapter. I have one in my older Subaru, and it's good to go there. It has a surprisingly good microphone built-in, as well as a quick charger.

The one downtown in 1998 and Gallatin in 2006 and Murfreesboro in 2009 are the strongest in recent memory. We get them, however they are usually weak and short lived. Rarely do we have strong long track Tornadoes. I wouldn't worry too much about it, doesn't hurt to prepare but it's not going to be life altering every year. We do get heavy downpours and strong straight line winds often, but as long as you have everything covered and secured, you should be OK.

Do you have any friends will well behaved dogs you could introduce it to? I would highly caution you against taking your dog to the dog park to socialize them. I think people think that you have to allow your dog to get out and engage and interact with everyone and everything during the fear stages, but the quality (not quantity) of these interactions are going to have a life long impact on your pup so it would be worthwhile for you to check out this book: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Raising-Puppy-Revised/dp/0316083275/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540173332&sr=8-1&keywords=the+art+of+raising+a+puppy+by+monks+of+new+skete

I don't believe that incarcerating people as we do actually achieves a safer or better society. I think the war on drugs is a costly sham that infringes on everyone's ability to live in a free country. White lawbreakers, especially drug users, get away with more in my experience than do nonwhites. These are the three arguments that rang true for me in her book, despite blathering on for pages and pages about details that I have no way to verify the truth of, like federal sentencing laws about powdered cocaine versus crack.

We lock up so many damn people. It's not because US people are born more criminal than people elsewhere, I don't think. Something about the "land of the free" having the highest per-capita incarceration rate in the world is fucked up: I'm pretty sure you and I would come to an agreement about that, even if nothing else.

What did you think of Rise of the Warrior Cop, which came out at about the same time?

This thing is a lifesaver. https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Massager-Adjustable-Intensity-Relaxation/dp/B06ZYVCNBB/ref=lp_3767531_1_25_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1564432679&sr=1-25

Also if you have insurance the chiropractor has this massage bed where wheels roll up and down your spine, well worth the $25 copay
