I used to go to the doctor or the urgent care until I noticed the urgent care was using the Elephant Ear Washer. Ordered it off Amazon and was able to clean my ears out myself. https://www.amazon.com/Elephant-Washer-Bottle-Doctor-Easy/dp/B005M2B5P0 Use a mix of peroxide and water and be patient. Be sure the water is warm or you'll get dizzy. You can read the Amazon comments for more specific instructions. It's definitely nice to be able to handle on my own and not sit around in the urgent care waiting room. Definitely helps to soften it with a few rounds of Debrox first though.

I suggest you buy good quality winter gear over lots of winter gear.

I'm undecided on wage increases, but we do need to be careful of logical fallacies here.

The first is the appeal to motive fallacy. The identity of who is funding the ad is irrelevant to deciding the truthfulness their claim. We need to look at the issue itself and see what the merits are on either side, regardless of who is presenting what side, because as Jamie Whyte put it in Crimes Against Logic:

>It is perfectly possible to have some interest in holding or expressing an opinion and for that opinion to be true.

The second is the Card & Kreuger example you cited. We have to be careful of making a hasty generalization. The Card & Kreuger findings by no means settled the issue. In fact, the very next section to the page you linked, which discusses the responses to that study, begins:

>In subsequent research, David Neumark and William Wascher attempted to verify Card and Krueger's results by using administrative payroll records from a sample of large fast food restaurant chains in order to verify employment. They found that the minimum wage increases were followed by decreases in employment.

So the effect of minimum wage increases on employment is still not definitively known, at least based on what I can gather from that Wiki page.

TL;DR: This issue, like most, is much more complicated than it may seem at first and we need to look at it carefully without resorting to hasty and fallacious thinking.

This has been a respectful back and forth, and I appreciate that. This will be my concluding comment.

> Religion has been the single greatest force limiting advancement in human history
>

This is the claim of the likes of Sam Harris. And this was the point that Nassim Taleb tried to make to him, although quite clumsily- religious thought has greatly contributed to building the Western world. For example, much of science has it's foundations in the presumptions produced by a religious worldview. Religion provides answers to existential questions that need to addressed before any scientific inquiry can be made. For example, one must have the presumption that the world is intelligible and comprehensible before engaging in scientific inquiry. If you don't start with that presumption, you cannot do science.

If you're interested in learning more about the philosophical presumptions that form the basis for scientific inquiry, check out The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Thomas Kuhn

Peace.

If you are really serious about learning and wanting to play D&D, I would strongly advise getting the 4th Edition Player's Handbook. Then after that I would suggest getting the Dungeon Master's Manual.

There are a ton of places online where you can download PDF copies of the books if you don't feel like shelling out the money for it.

Once you have a copy, read it, cover to cover. If you find yourself reading through it quickly, you know you are getting into the right hobby for you.

Understand that all play groups are different. Some are more relaxed when it comes to the rules, and care more about the role-playing aspect of the game. Others are rule nazis, and make sure that the game is played to the T. You need to find the right balance for you to make the hobby interesting.

What is most important to make D&D work is to have a thoughtful Dungeon Master(DM). One that is able to control the group, have an average to above average understanding of the game, and make for a fun experience.

If you have any more questions, PM me. I live in Atlantic County, about a 45 min drive to Tom's River, but I might be able to help you out.

EDIT** This goes for everyone in this thread that are stating that they are new and want to play. Let me know and maybe I can start to organize something, I don't mind teaching new people 4E rules.

Happy to help, these carbon filters are the ones I'm referencing. I think they could fit in a water bottle. The one you can buy is called a smoke buddy. The desktop filter that I have is this one Pricey but worth it, removes smoke very fast. Plus it feels like a nice fan for the room when it's on.

You can get a $47 G1W dash cam, which is a great camera for the price. It automatically deletes the oldest videos to make room for the newest ones. It's a great bargain and a zero-hassle piece of equipment.

You might also find my other, longer comment about dash cams to be of interest.

After the SANDY STORM I collected my losses (which were great and life changing) and bought a small beach bungalow for me and my family on Mystic Island (the ghetto in the meadow they call it), I had to sell a $800K property for $200K just to survive and provide for all of my family dependents.

When we got to our new house (much smaller and built in 1961) I ordered this map of the world from AMAZON to hang on the wall in my bathroom because... I thought it looked cool https://www.amazon.com/MyMap-Preserve-Thoughtful-Eco-Friendly-Materials/dp/B01MFCMFWH/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=world+map+framed&qid=1564252241&s=hpc&sr=1-1

Little did I know that every time I took a piss and stared at that map for a year I was I was acquiring some knowledge and wisdom for every piss I took.

Thermacells work like a magical force field. I've used them hunting in the early fall and you can actually see the mosquitos not entering a small bubble around you.

This one linked is bigger and works better for hanging out, the small ones work well for one person.

Well so much for that, looks like we do indeed also have elevated lead levels. https://www.nj.com/morris/2019/05/another-nj-town-finds-spiked-lead-levels-in-its-drinking-water.html I do have a reverse osmosis water filter system, will have to look up the specs to see how much lead it blocks.

Edit: Are these effective? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I0ZGOZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have one installed in my home and change the filters every 6 months. It says it gets 99% of lead among other things. I'm going to get a home kit and see what the test says.

Pretty much every place in Monmouth and Ocean County can be traced back to Shrewsbury Township.

This is the book I read in college if you want to learn more about the history of our fair state. There is an entire chapter on Shrewsbury.

The road system largely predates "Boroughitis", as New Jersey has been continuously settled for over 400 years. Had municipal density not exploded, however, property taxes would certainly be lower thanks to a lack of service duplication.

Had Newark and Elizabeth consolidated instead of competing in the post-Revolution days, they very possibly could have become the metropolitan center of the region instead of NYC. Perth Amboy could have been a major port city as well.

I recommend picking up New jersey's Multiple Municipal Madness by Alan Karcher, as it covers exactly what you're asking about.

It helps a lot to treat your shoes and pants with permethrin. One application should last you all summer. Only apply it to clothes, not skin.

I've had a G1W for about a year. The video is great quality and the cam doesn't obscure my view. It can be taken down in seconds if need be.

If you’ve ever wondered why NJ has so many municipalities, Multiple Municipal Madness is a good read.
