The first problem you're going to run into is that no one (with good reason) wants to tell you what "works" because as soon as that becomes public knowledge, people will craft means and methods against it. There's absolutely no value to disclosing what works aside from for public relations. So understand that.

Books like this and this are great for grasping a bit of knowledge and getting a storyline, but don't share much about the nitty gritty. I've read them both, and though I have no experience in operations in the 40s-70s, I do with what Bamford speaks of and there's quite a bit of fearmongering there. Either way, it's helpful to find the perspective of what's trying to be done. These aren't people trying to trample your friends, it's people trying to find a balance between freedom and security.

A book like this is basically just a nice story. It's a few biopics in one and the writer clearly likes the people he's writing about, so he's extremely pretty sympathetic to them. Still good for motivations and perspective, though.

These two are extremely useful because they get into that nitty-gritty that I spoke of earlier.

But as I said, it basically comes down to the balance between freedom and security. If you- like a crazy amount of redditors and young people seem to be- are way way way more interested than freedom than you are security, you're never going to like what people in the IC do. And that's your preoperative, but it seems that many people that of that cloth usually live within a secure environment and just don't really worry about. It's easy to not give a shit about heavy jackets when you live in West Maui. Moreover, the craze that I've seen in reddit is just...amazing? So many people with so little experience of education in these things that insist they know
just so much. These same people will flip shit if you wander into their area of expertise acting like you know what's up when you clearly don't but...if someone's talking about CIA/NSA/FBI/etc or even just international politics in general? Suddenly they're the expert. It's weird.

This is why I chuckle when people think the redacted portions of the 9/11 Commission Report somehow point to an inside job, letting it happen, or a vast Saudi conspiracy. The redacted portions were redacted because of classification, and things are classified to protect means and methods, 99% of the time. Sometimes technology is classified, but it's rare and I don't know much about that anyway.

What makes you think they wouldn't have started selling it without regulations? if there was no need for licensing they could have literally walked into any liquor store or bar and said "Hey im George Clooney can you do a test run of some of my tequila" without ever needing to go through government.

Someone like Clooney is an outlier because he is rich and famous but there are tons of stories of people doing things they love and are good at, but are prevented from monetizing it because of regulations. Like that guy in LA making bread in his kitchen, he was fined thousands of dollars for selling bread because he didn't have a commercial kitchen and correct licenses. This despite the fact that he ran a tight ship and his customers loved him. IIRC he had to pay like $20k+ out of pocket, then a couple years later California legalized selling homemade food.

There is a popular green/sustainable farmer called Joel Salatin who wrote a book about how regulations are killing small farms and food businesses and how they make it too onerous for small operations and local food growers to serve people.

The analysis of the stock transactions was put forward in a book by Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

The book, entitled "Throw Them All Out", and subtitled How Politicians and Their Friends Get Rich Off Insider Stock Tips, Land Deals, and Cronyism That Would Send the Rest of Us to Prison, was featured in a recent "60 Minutes" investigation that gained a lot of attention.

In it, Schweizer said McDermott "bet big" by buying 2,000 shares in ID Biomedical of Quebec for $10 apiece in June 2004. That was six weeks before the House of Representatives passed the $5.6 billion bill dubbed Project Bioshield. Shares in the company subsequently tripled before McDermott sold them in September 2005.

Asked if he was accusing Rep. McDermott of insider trading, book author Schweizer said, "it is highly unethical to purchase stock in a bill you are supporting and then enjoy the profits when the corporate recipients see their stock climb."

Also named in the book as beneficiaries of cronyism and insider tips are Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.

The ONLY thing you can truly do is stop making being a victim 'cool'. Hear me out:

White privilege exists in the same way sexism does: A very small microcosm of the total world. But, it is used as an excuse constantly.

When you create programs to help one type of person over another it just reaffirms this position and perception bends that way. Instead of people chanting that African American communities are more likely to be poor, and have higher unemployment because of white privilege, we need to instill the concept that if you work hard, and have motivation, that regardless of the street you live on, or if your parents are still together you CAN succeed! But freebies and assistance reaffirm that they NEED the help and can't help themselves.

this book "Please stop helping us" (written by a black man) is really an interesting read on the subject.

Actually, yes I have. I took a course on Islam in college and there was extensive reading from the quran. The professor was an extremely intelligent Pakistani man who had lots of interesting things to say about the what it was like to live in Muslim nation.

I found the The Study Quran to be very accessible.

I would also recommend reading these books by Bill Warner:

Then you should do some more research:
Liberal Fascism
>“Fascists,” “Brownshirts,” “jackbooted stormtroopers”—such are the insults typically hurled at conservatives by their liberal opponents. Calling someone a fascist is the fastest way to shut them up, defining their views as beyond the political pale. But who are the real fascists in our midst?

>Liberal Fascism offers a startling new perspective on the theories and practices that define fascist politics. Replacing conveniently manufactured myths with surprising and enlightening research, Jonah Goldberg reminds us that the original fascists were really on the left, and that liberals from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary Clinton have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler's National Socialism and Mussolini's Fascism.

>Contrary to what most people think, the Nazis were ardent socialists (hence the term “National socialism”). They believed in free health care and guaranteed jobs. They confiscated inherited wealth and spent vast sums on public education. They purged the church from public policy, promoted a new form of pagan spirituality, and inserted the authority of the state into every nook and cranny of daily life. The Nazis declared war on smoking, supported abortion, euthanasia, and gun control. They loathed the free market, provided generous pensions for the elderly, and maintained a strict racial quota system in their universities—where campus speech codes were all the rage. The Nazis led the world in organic farming and alternative medicine. Hitler was a strict vegetarian, and Himmler was an animal rights activist.

>Do these striking parallels mean that today’s liberals are genocidal maniacs, intent on conquering the world and imposing a new racial order? Not at all. Yet it is hard to deny that modern progressivism and classical fascism shared the same intellectual roots. We often forget, for example, that Mussolini and Hitler had many admirers in the United States. W.E.B. Du Bois was inspired by Hitler's Germany, and Irving Berlin praised Mussolini in song. Many fascist tenets were espoused by American progressives like John Dewey and Woodrow Wilson, and FDR incorporated fascist policies in the New Deal.

>Fascism was an international movement that appeared in different forms in different countries, depending on the vagaries of national culture and temperament. In Germany, fascism appeared as genocidal racist nationalism. In America, it took a “friendlier,” more liberal form. The modern heirs of this “friendly fascist” tradition include the New York Times, the Democratic Party, the Ivy League professoriate, and the liberals of Hollywood. The quintessential Liberal Fascist isn't an SS storm trooper; it is a female grade school teacher with an education degree from Brown or Swarthmore.

>These assertions may sound strange to modern ears, but that is because we have forgotten what fascism is. In this angry, funny, smart, contentious book, Jonah Goldberg turns our preconceptions inside out and shows us the true meaning of Liberal Fascism

The Progressives were early admirers of the fascists. Why? Because they share similar intellectual roots. It shouldn't be hard to understand how two ideologies that advocate for extensive government involvement in all aspects of society have more in common with each other than an ideology that advocates individual rights and limited government.

I certainly hope this dog was trained for this. GSDs are not know for loving water. To me, even if the dog was fine with this stunt before or after this clip, at this moment the dog showed clear signs of destress and should have been removed. There are signs of panic.

This book is great at explaining how to read a dog. It's a great place to start in reading body language.

Your “facts” about who is a net drain could use some citations. Children coming here that learn English and graduate high school are a net benefit. The only net drain category are older people that don’t have a high school education.

Kaplan and Weinersmith have a bunch of data here: Open Borders: The Science and Ethics of Immigration https://www.amazon.com/dp/1250316960/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XDjWDb83N8VV1. Though I’m
not sure about their thesis, their data on that point is pretty sound.

There is decent info just a google search away, I found this for example https://econofact.org/do-immigrants-cost-native-born-taxpayers-money

If you’re going to say “facts,” citations are pretty helpful.

> rather than just a regular job

I think there is an implicit assumption in many a discussion about the poverty problem that if jobs were available, people would jump on them. It is not universally the case. I am sure that there are some people who would benefit. Many, however, lack basic - minimal - skills required to hold a job - showing up on time, basic English language skills, professional behavior, ability to work in a team, etc. People in the decayed urban core come from a family where generations did not have a job. Generations. Male and female side.

This book is an eye opener on the urban poor life in US - it is written by an advocate for the urban poor, so it is very sympathetic to the people - but it is very clear that just more money or more jobs or opportunities are extremely unlikely to help.

Mostly it's just general knowledge from various history courses as well as reading on Paleo, Keto and Traditional diet topics. The problem with living in the wild and eating only plants and fruits is that they are pretty low calorie. People tended to use up more energy looking for those foods than they would gain from eating them. Another problem is that before agriculture plants were way less productive. Here is a comparison of ancient vs more modern corn. Another problem is that you can't find wild strawberries in the middle of winter. Plant based food was much more reliant on seasonality and went bad very quickly. Meat on the other hand has tons of nutrients and can be dried or smoked and kept for the winter.

Things like that work pretty well. Some of the DE pieces will be too large tho and collect in the bottom. Try to find a cheap one as they tend to have bigger holes.

If you can, rent an ozone generator and use it after spreading DE around. Ozone is good at killing stuff, but isn't really going to do much to bed bugs by itself. However, it will irritate the crap out of them thus making them come out of their hiding spots, run around, and get DE on them. You have to stay out until the Ozone dissipates / breaks down, but otherwise is safe. (Also, put a note on the doors to let ppl know about the ozone.) If you have bedbugs, you may have other pests / mold situations that the ozone will also help.

My grandfather was a small time slum lord. I've done this more times than I care to remember. It works, and it's cheap, but it may take a couple treatments.

The tea gizmo also works well for spreading baking soda on carpet to get rid of smells.

I don't think that has anything to do with fascism. I think they word you are looking for is Authoritarian.

Technically speaking we already live in a de facto-fascist state.
Fascism is the combining of corporate (private business) and government entities to form one power that controls the state and Means of Production for the economy.

Fascism forming in the United States (and maybe the world) has not come over night, but slowly thru the passing of laws and restricting individual liberties.

Giving businesses the right to own property, have rights as People (including the right to vote) and the Citizens United case was a large turning point in my opinion.

All you need is one of these: Merkur HD Slant Safety Razor 37C and a box of these: 100 Feather Razor Blades NEW Hi-stainless Double Edge and you are set for a long time.

I shave two or three times a year, whether I need to or not (got to stay employed!), so I will most likely die before I make it through all my razors, but even if I shaved daily (the horrors!) I would still go this route. A dollar shave is an expensive shave!

Add a shaving brush, a mug, some soap, and a stand. If you know a better way to shave, that doesn't involve Peter Dinklage standing on the counter and doing it for you, then I want to hear about it.

Edited to add: A shave should be a pleasure. If you are not enjoying it, then you are doing it wrong.

Your pretty myopic when it comed to defintions. Your definition of fascist is rooted in its original meaning from over 100 years ago. Word definition changes over time). Here is an update from TheFreeDictionary which I have annotated.

  1. Fascism
    a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, (all progressive love a big fat central goverment and would love to make unelected Hillary their president)

a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls (every liberal wants strict controls on the marketplace)

violent suppression of the opposition (liberals like to take over the streets, riot, burn and loot whenever they don't get their way),

and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. (liberals hate white working people, evidenced by freely using pejorative racist terms like "redneck", hillbilly, "white privilege") along with being pro anti white goverment programs such as Affirmitive Action.

Certainly there are thousands of sites defining Fascism thousands of ways. Keep in mind that I am talking about Liberal Fascism, not Right Wing Fascism. Here is a link to the definition above, and a book called Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg.

Btw, you come across as a 12 year old when you start throwing the word STUPID around.
