Have you read the history of the Fed, how it was created, who created it, and how it has consistently acted since 1913? ... the role it plays hasn't changed all that much, and its purpose hasn't changed that much.

Read The Creature from Jekyll Island and you'll find that it hasn't been "captured by the big banking interests and other large corporations".... it was created by and for them.

You might also wonder what motivates both parties to allow it to continue. They aren't doing it because it serves a grand purpose of holding society together. The Fed allows both parties to fund their deficit spending on entitlements (either military/corporate or social) that they use to buy votes and stay in power.

I recommend reading "The Sociopath Next Door" to anyone casually interested in what sociopathy really is.

It was one of the first books I read after I learned that my Dad was a sociopath (right after the DSM-IV entry on sociopathy. Seriously, what twelve year old makes her Mom buy her the DSM?). It's not the best book on sociopathy, but it is a beautiful introduction.

I haven't read this one yet but I'm working my way through David Graeber's other books and I'm pretty sure this is the one on Occupy: http://www.amazon.com/The-Democracy-Project-History-Movement/dp/081299356X

What is the source of this statement? Apparently, it's Who Rules America? The Triumph of the Corporate Rich [Paperback]
.

But, I wonder what Domhoff's source is.

I know this is neither here nor there, but on the "How You Can Help" page your glass marker link takes you to this video, which couldn't possibly have been intentional. I'd suggest linking to something like this instead.

HENCE THE REASON FOR THIS VERSION

I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure instead of buying property, you buy political figures, to better your business, and lock up their constitutes or take their homes for not paying up on time..then ask them to bail them out for spending money on non-related items.

the artist responsible for the BioShock punkin revealed a preference for linoleum cutters! So I hopped on Amazon and bought this. Sweet.

It's black and white because there are so many issues going on that there's no way to properly simplify it all.

From time to time I like to ask myself this: What is more satisfying, winning a competition or pursuing what makes me happy? I am a competitive person myself; I've been an athlete all my life. But I don't think it's the proper way to live as a society.

I am happy that you are in support of the reform, but you shouldn't care what I think. For your own sake, you should take time and think about some of our core economic problems and realize that there are other ways to live, and that experimenting with them should not be out of the discussion.

Deeply associated? citation please. Lennon didn't do shit in the political realm. He did follow Jean Houston and dedicated his album ''Mind Games'' to her.
Mind Games
Oh. Sounds cool.....until you really look into her history, and what she does today: jeanhouston.org .

>I was earning my Econ. degree during the supply side "revolution".

You may find this interesting. The guy who developed Reaganomics (Bruce Bartlett) has recently written a book called:

"The New American Economy: The Failure of Reaganomics and A New Way Forward - I highly recommend reading that book!

To me, not many people have the intellectual honesty to go "Yeah, this policy that we implemented 30+ years ago - well that was a bad idea". And the fact that the guy who created Reaganomics is saying this has some weight in my perspective.

I didn't know they made reusable!

The 30 pack of disposables is $30...even at volume it wouldn't be cost effective.

Cam across this in my searches though. Pretty cool, no?! A few drops of fluid supposedly last hours.

Here's an Amazon link to the first book. I always love hearing about Scifi I haven't read yet, thanks!

I suppose next time I have access to a scanner, I can scan the book, but I don't know if I can put that up without being sued.

Here's a link where you can purchase the book. It's available on Kindle too.

http://www.amazon.com/OReilly-Factor-Completely-Ridiculous-American/dp/0767905296/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1322440115&sr=8-6

I guess you'll have to decide if you want to support this idiot. I'd recommend buying a used book so he receives no money from the purchase.

u/DrTitan · 2 pointsr/occupywallstreet

Here's his book. Looks like people have already gotten to work on it :-)
