bictory is pretty good for beginner and is pretty cost effective

a japanese shaker is a pretty good pencil that does not look crazy. it is not double sided like the bictory, so its balance wont be as good. japanese shakers are usually heavier than bictorys and some good spinners use them, like ease.

Nah, daiso's great - they have sailor gels, which are super rare in America and Europe (outside of Japanese stores ofc); you could probably make a decent amount of money actually by buying a few sailor gels (their grip is used in a ton of mods) and trading up from there. They also have ballsigns, although those are pretty common elsewhere (might be cheaper at daiso though, idk)

My local daiso doesn't actually have anything else that's used commonly, but they do have these and this, which I've been meaning to experiment with (the first has already gained a bit of recognition since they look like clear, miniature comssas, although since they're thinner they can't be used in any of the same ways)

Amazon actually has some really good ones for cheap. The one I got has a VERY fine blue pen that writes extremely smoothly and reliably. It's actually my favorite pen to write with. It also comes as a kit so you can add more or less weight as you see fit.

The Zhigao pens are made for spinning, as well as some others which haven't enjoyed the same longevity (SpinZ, PenZ'Gear). Many people regard these pens as inferior to mods made from the parts of other pens. Also, some people like these or these for unmodded spinning. The first is often used by Ease, a World Tournament competitor, and the second is used by Onacler, who is less well known but still pretty good.

Well since I just took random pens for the tips and the rubber connectors, I unfortunately can't give you a link for those. But I searched for the ink eraser from the same brand and found this on amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Pelikan-Fountain-Cartridges-Eradicator-923532/dp/B00FGXB9VA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497521394&sr=8-1&keywords=pelikan%2Bink%2Beraser&th=1

Which also comes with a fountain pen. If you don't want that then I humbly appologies because this is the best I could find on amazon.

But if you want the excact ink eraser then look around for "Super Pirat" ink erasers from Pelikan.

Honestly I have no idea, I've never spun one of those. If it's made by pendolsa there's a good chance it's not terrible. I'd stick with regular pens, looks like you can buy HGG's here: https://www.amazon.com/Pentel-Hybrid-Rollerball-0-6mm-K116E/dp/B00IZH9T34/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1497065168&sr=8-6&keywords=pentel+hybrid+gel+grip and grab some RSVP's at your local office supply

I bought some o rings for a mechanical keyboard and they fit fine (a little smaller than penwish but once they are on I can't tell the difference).

Black
Red
Blue

They only come in large packs but at least they fit fine and have a few different colors to chose.

When buying from Amazon, the first pens that come to mind would be the Zhigao pens. This and this are apparently the "better" Zhigao pens. These are quite heavy (probably too heavy for you if this will be your first pen mod), in about the same weight class as the Dr. KT. You could also try finding any pens from the SpinZ line but they are rather low-quality.

Generally, the pens on Amazon aren't good for beginners. If you can buy from other websites, www.penwish.com has pens in your price range, albeit they are rather light (RSVP MX, ballsign, etc)

Penwish also sells mod parts so you can put together your own mod and give it a weight you feel comfortable with.

EDIT: If the description of this item is to be believed, then this Zhigao pen is better-suited for beginners

Amazon

If you live in US here’s a link: Pelikan - Super Pirat Ink Eradicator for Royal Blue - Broad - Pack of 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JTFU3W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_E6RHDbAFY4NH4

this is what I use to carry my mods. cheap, fits a lot of mods, and durable. only mod I haven’t been able to fit in there is energel st v2, which is like 24.9cm, so pretty much all of isuks mods won’t fit in it. psh/pserhome (not to be confused with psershop, don’t buy from it) sells single carry cases with their spinpros, and maybe even separately, and work for any mod, unless you’re exceeding 25.5cm which is an excessive mod length anyways.

>What are good regular pens to spin with?
>
>Nitoms Stalogy (not the mechanical pencil version of this, they are very different)
>
>Japanese Shaker Dr. Grip (not the DrGrips you can find in American stores, they are very different)
>
>Unmodded Pentel RSVP with cap on the back

Is this what you're referring to?

For me it did, I was able to get a better understanding of the tricks when I could actually do them, if I go to do some tricks on a normal pen or pencil now I can pull them off a lot better than when I was using them in the beginning.

as for where to buy them, i used a site called Penwish, although if your in the UK these helped me get going, although they are a little heavy.

u/Jbub124 · 1 pointr/penspinning

Nitoms Stalogy is a solid start. The Japanese dr grip pen is another good option. If you can’t get either of these an RSVP can be decent.

it's the ZHIGAO ZG-5098 V16 18.5 cm. Got it a few days ago, like it so far.

u/Ana-Satsujin · 2 pointsr/penspinning

Do y'all think that this unmodded would spin well
https://www.amazon.com/TUL-0-5mm-Mechanical-Pencils-2-Count/dp/B0018NH19G
I already had one and it is evenly balanced and about average diameter

I just got into pen spinning and I use this (it's a pack of 4) and I place a cap on both sides and it doesn't get too many looks so I can spin while I'm in lectures.

Like I said, I just got into pen spinning for about a week and I have the TA and Charge down pat, and I can do the Reverse TA about 75% of the time. I haven't tried the Saaaaahnic yet but I'm gonna give it a shot later this weekend.

u/EVH4N · 2 pointsr/penspinning

I got it on amazon it’s a random colour

G-Spec have smaller tips and two layers of grips that are slightly different than Japanese Shakers. They're closer but still not the same.

This is what you're looking for

u/Ishto · 2 pointsr/penspinning

Its a Pilot Spotliter...well two actually a purple one and a red(pink) one.
