SWEETNESS! I can't wait for this lil guy to come out. Been fascinated by it ever since I learned about him when I was little. (Gotta give thanks to this book for introducing me to it. :D)

Very nice video, you did a great job on it.C:

you need a 1080ti at least to get stream quality ark

I have a devil's canyon so processing power I'm not lacking anything much, but it will be better if you can get a 8700/8700k that should be better.

with that unless your mobo allows you're gonna buy a new one. I recommend those long lasting ones that doesn't necessarily say "GAMING". I'm not going to upgrade my pc anytime soon so the recommendation for this could be a little off

get 16gb of ram at least. the more the merrier.

You know, you could just pick up a wireless adapter for your PC so you can use your Xbox controller wirelessly, hook up your PC to your TV so you can play it on the big screen and just play it from bed on PC with your controller. It has great controller support on PC -I recently set up one of my ps4 controllers with it and it works really well.

Which mic?
And unless your PC is from 1995 you shouldn't need a new soundcard.

Here's a great dynamic mic for $39.

A dynamic mic doesn't pick up as much background noise as a condenser mic (blue yeti) and will take some of the shrillness out of your voice.

Issues I've found were...

  • Hanging at Snapshot_16 on load screen (Have the happen more frequently on other maps, Snapshot_10 on TheCenter)

  • Lost/timeout connection to host.

  • Ragnarok 50 for instance crashed around 45 times in 2.5 days from my experience and from log reports.

I also have the best everything, fresh install, game is also on a 950 Pro which also houses the pagefile along with 32GB of RAM.

All drivers are up to date from chipset to graphics. So with that said, I can't think of any other issue other than a server side problem. Let's hope Wildcard can finally give a clear understanding as to what's going on and why these complications are coming up.

Nice. If you like having more programmable buttons, maybe consider a speedpad for your left hand.

I used this https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Nostromo-PC-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B004AM5RB6 for years and it was fantastic up until I broke it inadvertently. (Dropped a subwoofer on it... I don't like to talk about it lmao.)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. You may also enjoy the other works of James SA Corey especially if you're into science fiction. The Expanse is arguably set in the same universe as "The Hunger After You're Fed", some hundred plus years in the future. If you want to get started in novella form, "The Butcher of Anderson Station" is the basically spoiler-free prequel to the series.

My wife plays on a MSI GS43VR Phantom Pro. She travels all the time, and needed not only a laptop, but a small 14" class laptop, and this one fit the bill. It's under your budget, too. It does high settings and 45-55 fps in most places, so it exceeds your requirements there, too. And the IPS screen looks very nice color-wise.

Heat-wise, you're going to want to put it on a table or use a laptop cooler. While Playing Ark it will definitely be too hot to use on your lap. If you put it on a table, the exhaust fans are going to be noticeably loud unless you have headphones; they might be a slightly annoying pitch even with the laptop cooler, depending on how sensitive you are to that sort of thing. Another downside is that in the cheapest model, Ark isn't going to fit on the 128gb SSD (but it has an included spinning drive you can install on, or you can get a model with a larger ssd, or upgrade it yourself)

Neither my wife or I are hard-core gamers, though, so I can't really comment on serious gaming issues beyond casual Ark play - but if your initial goal is 30fps on medium, you're probably in the same boat as we are.

Benchmark for his gpu

Ram really isn't super expensive nowadays Here's neweggs entry

Seems like the gpu could use an upgrade. his gpu is like $218, the gtx970 is like $338 and performs significantly better.

In case you're curious/it crossed your mind, Ark cannot utilize SLI/Crossfire yet because no dx12

Min Reqs
• OS: 64-Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, or Windows 8
• Processor: 2 GHz Dual-Core 64-bit CPU
• Memory: 4000 MB RAM
• Graphics: DirectX10 Compatible GPU with 1 GB Video RAM
• DirectX: Version 10
• Hard Drive: 20000 MB available space

I think you are stuck with something like
https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-Laptop-Latest-2-80GHz-Graphics/dp/B01IPOQD2G/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495150279&sr=1-3&refinements=p_computer_cpu_speed-bin%3A2+to+2.9+GHz%2Cp_n_intended_use_browse-bin%3A9647497011%2Cp_n_operating_system_browse-bin%3A12035945011%2Cp_n_graphics_type_browse-bin%3A14292273011

i mean the main thing you have to search for is just something with a dedicated video card of 1gb+. Anything with that generally will have the ram/processor you need anyways.

I'm in California and I pay up the nose for faster net.

verified speeds with fast.com and speedtest.net

I also saw a significant steady speed increase by changing my router to a Nighthawk X6

I'm not an audiophile, so I don't quite know the specs. But I do know the headset is a Plantronics GameCom 788 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-GameCom-788-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00LNJZTTY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485192073&sr=8-1&keywords=Plantronics+GameCom+788) and my speakers are Logitech Z333.
All drivers are up to date.
