i use this, razer blade 14 2013 model.
Intel Core i7-4702MQ 2.2 GHz
8 GB DDR3L SDRAM
256 GB Solid-State Drive (SATA III SSD)
14-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M

this laptop is like a high end car, great performance (for a laptop, overall its not the most powerful in terms of processing or graphic power), lots of heat being generated, slim body. but it have a limited life. its like a F1, it runs super fast but isnt the most reliable or resistant to shock. Its pretty much the slimmest gaming laptop you can get with a decent discrete graphic card.

rust run great at 900p, i get 50fps, i never get any stuttering or freeze that so many people are complaning about. There are 2 ssd, one for windows and one for steam games.

i paid it about 1000USD, used, in "like new" condition on amazon. i recommend it, but its a risk. i let Rust run afk a few nights to feed a server population, and the battery overheated. i have 2000h of rust on that laptop, and its still running strong except for the battery.

No, that PC is not enough to run Rust.
I see your budget appears to be very low, I'll give you a better suggestion.
At your price range, I'd suggest buying an older prebuilt, (sometimes colleges give their old PC's away for ridiculously cheap prices. You might be able to snag one there) but I'll give you a link to Amazon for one.
I would get this as it has an older I5, which even given its age, should do fine for Rust, and then upgrade it to suit your needs.
You also want 16GB of RAM if possible. The game has frequent stuttering on 8GB or even 12GB
This would probably be a good option, overclock it if possible
You're going to need a GPU. If you want to play it safe and go brand new. An RX 580 would be just fine for playing this game, hell you could probably do fine with a worse GPU. They regularly go on sale for under $200. $200 should be the absolute maximum you buy this card for.
If you have to go used, I'd suggest a GTX 770 if you want to save a bit of cash. The card should also be just fine for Rust, I'd try to snag anything used from the U.S to reduce the odds of being scammed (It's a huge business in cards made in the China area, unfortunately)
The last thing you will need is a new Power Supply, as the one that comes with the prebuilt sucks.

This Specific Power Supply should do you just fine. EVGA makes some of the best stuff out there when it comes to a power supply.

If you don't feel qualified to do any of the modifications to the PC required, just look up how to do it. There are plenty of great guides out there for that sort of thing. Shoot me a DM if you want to know anything else.

I'm assuming the screen will be at most 1080p or at least 1366x768.

The things to look for are; an SSD, minimum of a 1050 Ti, minimum of 8GB of memory (16GB recommended but DDR4 is very expensive), and the CPU with the best single-threaded performance (IPC) you can afford.

Nothing else about the laptop matters, but with your budget you won't have an issue getting what you need to run it.

I don't know much about buying laptops in Australia, but this would run it quite well and is min/maxed better compared to the others if your max budget really is 2k and isn't flexible at all.

If you're able to go to $2100 then this would be excellent

I agree that people don't want to constantly think about complexity, but I think the point I'm getting at is just as in real life, the world is complex without any of us really having any say in the matter. So you could evolve complex societies and institutions just by laying out the right rules from the start, which would be really easy, i.e. power-law spatial distribution of valuable resources (a single formula dictating how nodes are spawned). The player doesn't even need to "why" the world is the way it is, just like most of us don't in real life. Players would just respond to various things and their actions would feed into the world in a natural way.

Knowing what those "base rules" are would set the stage for increasing or decreasing the economy's complexity. See this book: http://www.amazon.ca/Complexity-Cooperation-Agent-Based-Competition-Collaboration-ebook/dp/B00C5H43XQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1453858348&sr=1-5&keywords=agent+based

I think whether the devs consciously know it or not, they're already kind of building these rules into the game. Might be worth exploring in more depth from the lens of Complexity science and agent-based simulations.

I just recently gave away a $20 headset from Amazon I bought. Was amazing, asked people if it was an okay mic/if I sounded clear or not on it. They all said it was clear sounding. Also the sound was pretty good if I recall. Here is the link on amazon.

Sades SA902 7.1 Channel Virtual... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A0VQOCQ?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Edit: This headset has a USB port at the end to connect to your PC.

Ok I've ordered an ssd, found this to be a pretty good model and I might even dual with my current hdd. Linking here for anyone in my situation; only 30 dollars https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G3KRZBX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good luck y'all thanks for help this seems like the only resolution sadly

I'll go from cheapest to most expensive here:

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7GM - $199

AKG K702 - $232 (I have the older version of these, the K701s, and they've been going strong for ~8 years. Can't recommend them enough.)

HIFIMAN HE-400I - $249

Sony MDR1A - $298

Monoprice Monolith M1060 - $299

Sennheiser HD 650 - $315.99

AKG K712 - $379

Most of these headphones will really shine with a little headphone amp to give them a bit more power than your computer or phone's audio output can deliver. Something like a FiiO E10k works amazing. Or the FiiO A3 for a portable solution. Or if you want something that looks a bit sexier and is more of a stay on your desk kind of thing, you can go for something like this or this. Either way, any of these headphones will blow your Bose cans away no question - like not even in the same league of sound quality.

Current VR list I have on Steam

https://i.imgur.com/5iUid4bl.png

Zero Caliber is quite a bit of fun but lacking in the map department. But I don't know of any other game where you can grab one of your teammates and ride them into battle firing an AK-47 over their head using them as a meat-shield.

B&S is basically VR hitbox porn but they have been pushing out the updates and it gets cooler every time. (Moddable)Gorn is good if you are just looking to vent frustration (Also Moddable)A-Tech WAS good... But it was basically abandoned for nearly a year because PlayStation offered them "F*ck you money" to make a PSVR version.

Killing floor and Arizona Sunshine are both fun in their own respects but both feel a bit too short with not a lot of replayability.

The Forest isn't too horrible for being a VR port and hiding in a cabin in the middle of the night as cannibals surround you is freaky as all hell.

Games I have on Oculus Launcher

House of the Dying Sun is actually quite a bit fun. It's seated with a controller.

KingSpray Graffiti is relaxing if you like doing any kind of artwork. Even bad artwork.

From other suns is fun as well but also short, same with Gunheart

Echo VR is motion-sickness simulator 2019 but still quite a bit of fun when you can actually find a match.

RoboRecall is basically Oculus' flagship game so it's more built to show off the Oculus vs. Repeatable gameplay.

These are the games I've pretty much played all the way through at one time or another.

As for my setup, Using a Oculus Rift CV1 with 3 sensors hooked into my laptop, one via direct USB the other two plugged into a j5Create 3 port powered USB hub and those two are the rear and the right corner of my room connected to the hub and the sensors with this

Surprisingly this actually works. Also surprising is that all sensors register as USB 3.0 and run fine with no input lag.

Definitely not running rust on an integrated GPU. You'll need at least 8gb of ram and I would recommend a GTX 1060. you might be able to get by with a 1050 on potato quality. For a gaming laptop I would recommend the Acer Helios 300. Probably the single best bang-for-your-buck gaming laptop.

u/Juslivin · 4 pointsr/playrust

I just got the new Acer vx 15 laptop. I opted for the one with and i7 and 1050ti. It's great. Handles rust like a champ. The only negative thing is the 256 gig ssd it comes with but they will send you an extra sdd bay to install yourself free.

Acer Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptop, 7th Gen Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 15.6 Full HD, 16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, VX5-591G-75RM https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N12YZ7B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Xmm-yb1J1YJ61

The one I got was the higher end one but I believe it starts out at 799 with an i5.

It seems ur looking for a laptop if I am correct. For that the best deal for your budget right now is a predator Helios 300 (2019) if you are in a sales tax state that will bring it right around your budget. The only problem is the 250gb ssd can be small if you keep a lot of games downloaded however the laptop does have an 2.5 in expansion slot if you need more room in the future

Amazon link Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop PC, 15.6" Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display, Intel i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, PH315-52-78VL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXLFLXT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nBqlDb4C4NSB8

Or any brand really, This is just the first one i saw. Plenty of other options out there.
