Sure, so check these out. They are pairs of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 pound plates (calling them plates is a bit of a stretch though). Look around and you can get them in 1 pound, 2 pound, 3 pound, etc. So instead of trying to increase by 5 pounds or 10 pounds or whatever, and failing, just try an increase of 1 pound. Then when you can lift that, try 1 more pound. Keep it up like this and you'll make small, incremental increases which is better than stagnating. Usually you don't have to train like this forever, it can be used as a good plateau buster.
