I would most heartily recommend the founder of cosmic horror; the mind that spawned such evil beings such as the great Old Ones. I am, of course, dancing around the name of Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

The expansive universe initiated by Lovecraft has evolved further from it's (humble?) roots to the brobdingnagian universe populated by works by many authors. A good introduction (though pale in comparison to pure Lovecraft) is this electronic book. I have heartily enjoyed it and from there I was enticed to further my Lovecraftian library. I sought out his full works and am very much glad I did so!

In short, if the above was perhaps too long winded, H. P. Lovecraft is a great, well established author and my above selection, I feel, is a good jump off point.

For an enjoyable story, and an interesting speech style, I recommend Alexander Dumas's "The Three Musketeers".

For a more fantasy driven take on the theme, Try Steven Brust's "The Phoenix Guards".

I have recently been introduced to "The Gentlemen's Guide to Etequitte...." That is a very good introduction to the proper rules of conduct, with a strong emphasis on conversation.

If one is so wise as to turn to the comprehensive periodical known as Amazon, he would find among the pages many examples of such trumpet horn phonographs that are compatible with a wide variety of media sources. Herein lies one such example. Unfortunately (for my good friends of lesser luck than I!), they do cost a pretty penny, and one should ensure their finances are in order before purchasing such a product.

Dear Yarcofin,

Whilst I admire your desire to demonstrate yourself as a gentleman, despite the fact that no plebeians, such as yourself, shall ever be true gentlemen--as plebeian blood is many shades from blue--I shall endeavor to guide thee nearest, by way of the written word, to the state of the cavalier.

I shall hope you will find much erudition, form, and poise betwixt pages and pages of the following ledgers:

How to Be a Gentleman

The Affected Provincial's Companion

How to Be a Man

Gentleman: A Timeless Guide to Fashion

Dressing the Man

The Art of Manliness

Regards,

Curtains

I do believe I could recommend some pages bound within novel form that could assist with your dilemma. I have thusly, as they say, "linked it" here betwixt the letters.

As an aside, I would like to put forth one of the most important tenets that a nobleman should never, under any circumstances, take drink directly from any container within the icebox that normally contains the juice from a cow's udder. Instead it should be consumed by pouring into a proper beverage receptacle and enjoyed as such.

I couldn't agree more. In the beginning, I could find links to helpful books like this ( http://www.amazon.com/gentlemens-etiquette-politeness-gentlemans-authorities/dp/142553337X ) , nowadays all one can find here are pictures of animals adorned in hats, monocles and whathaveyou . . .

For those who desire a similar boldness, there is an entire book on the subject.

Indeed, I shall attach a link for your inspection. I have decided upon a mid tier of quality for my first, should the instance occur that I find the style not to my liking.

That is indeed an extraordinarily visually delightful tea set. May I suggest coordinating a simpler patter, such as this elegant but unfortunately pecuniarily demanding tea pot?
