Any Bluetooth headset for PS3 you can find online are great and they last you if you take care of them. They usually go from $15 up to $40 on Amazon.com.
I highly recommend the TurtleBeach P11. Those are the ones I use and I love them. They sell for $50 on Amazon and about $60 in stores.
You should also check Monoprice.com for other headsets that are pretty good.
Get a PVR recorder, it'll record anything your playing/watching. They really arent that expensive. Last I researched the Hauppauge brand one was pretty solid (few friends have it and it had the best reviews) and came in around $150-200 (if i remember correctly). Another good use for these other than cutting gaming footage is to get a Netflix account and whatever you stream and like you can record and burn to DVD thereby creating your own private DVD collection of awesome shows/movies. PLUS you can record your BF3 battles.

if on a budget i would would suggest the PX21 http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Force-PX21-Gaming-Headset-Pc/dp/B002BU0DPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319666886&sr=8-1 if you're ok with just stereo sound, and their upgrade, the DPX21 http://www.amazon.com/Force-Headset-Channel-Surround-Playstation-3/dp/B0042Y2F76/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319667382&sr=8-1. they have cords, unlike the Sony surround ones. those are decent surround, but i prefer the DPX21's more as the lack of a wireless feature isn't a problem for me.
i hear people complain about turtle beach's build quality, and static noise.....ehhhh, mine have withstood moving around between TV locations in my house and between friends, and i don't see how a responsible adult could let them break. and for the static, it's only on the enhanced stereo selection and none in the surround set in my experience YMMV though.
if you're NOT on a budget go for the astro A40's, or some other model by them. a friend has these....i almost wish i could play there all the time. they're like $250-300 new though.
I thought it was pretty funny. One of the more original posts I've seen too.
Reminded me of The Timewaster letters
Bravo.
This can be a bit challenging, especially if you don't have any video experience. You can definitely just point a camera at the screen, but thats not the best way.
I use this to solve problem 1- HDMI Splitter One output to my TV, one to my Capture device. I connect the HDMI to this- HDMI to Component converter This strips HDCP and gives you a clean, HD component signal. The flow is PS3-HDMI-->Splitter-->TV and Splitter-->Converter-->recording device
I have access to a broadcast quality HD encoder so I don't have any recommendations for the actual capture device, but a quick google search found this- Aver Media
Some people have used this- Hauppauge Gaming Capture card Its input is component so you need the stuff above. The diagrams on their site show you using component through their device to the TV, I like splitting the HDMI better.
BTW- Monoprice.com is a great place to buy all the cables you will need also. HDMI, component, etc..
I'm up for it. Just got my headset and I think good team play is as good as it gets.
Pick up the previous model of the play station headset. I love mine. http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1373003068&sr=1-1&keywords=playstation+headset

why?
cause they are fucking winsauce awesome
Start with RocketSurgeon's suggestion about starting high and dialing it back until it feels comfortable.
Turn on aim assist if it's not on.
I use these things: FPS Freek by KontrolFreek
They were tough to get used to and I only use it on the right stick but they seem to help.
beside getting it repaired, the other option i used to do with my Xbox to prevent overheating, is to put a fan in front of the box. (I tried a USB fan, but xbox would shut down because it could not recognize the new device)
anywho, simplest solution seems to fix it

For what it's worth, I had major lag issues with a variety of routers. Dlink, Netgear, and others I have forgotten about. I bought an Asus Black Diamond router and all my wireless issues went away.
It was super highly rated, etc. This is the one:

By "SONY WIRELESS HEADSET", do you mean these?
If so, how do you like them? I've been thinking about picking some up.
Yeah I ordered a cheap $13 keyboard off amazon. Works okay except I had to get used to the small keys. You could get a normal sized one for cheap too, I just figured this was easier to pack away and transport.
My headset recently broke, but I basically did what Fermion does.
Now, since my headset broke, I am stuck with a jerry-rigged setup that actually works pretty damn well.
You will need THIS. It is a Y-splitter with two female RCA ends and a female 3.5mm audio jack (this is something that comes with almost all wired headsets). You will also need one pair of headphones and one pair of ear buds. What you do is connect the component cable to the PS3 and the Y-splitter to the red and white (audio) male connections. Plug in your ear buds to that and you will receive game sound. For mic audio, simply connect your headphones to a laptop, or whatever device you are using (tablet/smartphone). Put the headphones on over the ear buds and you now get both game audio and Teamspeak to work. The assumption here is that you have a mic on a laptop or that your phone's mic can be used. This setup will allow you to have game audio at whatever volume you like and TS volume at whatever volume you like. It also eliminates the echoing problem that is present with using the laptop, phone, or tablet speakers to get TS audio.
For FPS games I use a 360 controller with my PS3 (via one of these). I do have the triggers on the two Dualshocks I use for other games (Uncharted etc.).
Just get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Wireless-Keypad-Playstation-3/dp/B001ENPDJA
Mountain I was running separate audio on that particular video, we all got on Google+ to record a live commentary, so the voice audio was from our computers. I was mainly showing you the quality of the videos. The Hauppauge I use is here http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1212-Definition-Personal-Recorder/dp/B0018LX0DY

Just sayin'
The one I use is only $5:

You can get a converter box. There are also PS3 mouse controllers like the Splitfish and Aimon brands. I tried the Aimon one and it works well once you configure it, but I hated the button layout on the left hand 'nunchuk' and the responsiveness of the shape buttons on the mouse, so I returned it.
Edited for spelling and added links.
I play with the new-ish PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset and it rocks my brain. Mic and full blown sounds of war, hell yes.
