Woah. Did not see this. Sort of late comment.

Okay. I am a huge comic book fan. I am not sure what you would be in to, but my strong point is superheros so I will recommend you some.

Batman Vol. 1 of the New 52 series (DC's remake on 52 comic series) is a great one, mostly because the story line is pretty amazing and batman is one of the most popular series.

Another good starter is Nightwing Vol. 1. This story follows Dick Grayson, a former robin who is now a solo hero (nightwing.) Batman Vol. 1 and Nightwing Vol. 1 are sort of tied together so if you get this, although it would be optional and you would still understand the storyline, I highly recommend you also get Batman.

Other batman issues I recommend picking up are the new 52 issues 21-29 (Zero Year) and also batman #30 (Zero Year - Ravage City) I picked up #30 yesterday and it was superb. One of my favorite issues ever. I was also recently recommended Batman Death of the Family, which is inbetween the Court of Owls (1-12) and Zero Year (21-29)

Other than that, you could try starting on another New 52, such as the Flash, Aquaman, Batman & Robin, Action Comics, Detective Comics, or Green Arrow, just to name a few.

Have fun :)

Edit: Just noticed you like dark and intense storylines, which makes this even better because thats basically all batman is (lol).

Edit 2: I would also recommend looking into some comic book subreddits, such as /r/comicbooks /r/batman /r/marvel /r/DCcomics

Edit 3: Saw this below, but The Walking Dead would be great if you like zombies, although it would be quite hard to catch up to.

Edit 4 (SO MANY EDITS): If you would like to know some other NEW 52s, I have some on my wishlist here (shameless plug)

She is closer to my younger daughters age for penpal :) but i know my oldest would love pictures as well

You can do it. It seems a bit overwhelming at first cause it is unknown to me and so many options. Also wading through the options of secular and religious is very time consuming. Not sure if I want to buy a full curriculum or go the unschool route. We are in kindergarten this fall and she already knows 80% of what is expected for them to know here. So we are moving on to grade 1 stuff.

Just a tip if your teaching ABC's teach the sounds first. Before the names of the letters. This makes phonics a lot easier later on. Also the book teach your child to read in a 100 easy lessons is awesome!
This book is awesome as well and these are great for history

I find the hardest part at this age is finding a group. A lot of groups in my area are heavily religious or meant for 6+ years. Periodically someone will put together a pre school age one, which is lovely. In Toronto there was a huge group that met a few times a week. It is natural the community here is smaller. I can't wait till they are pre teen age. The University here has weekly science labs set up specific for home school kids. Get the run of a well set up lab. The same for the Museum. The University and the local vocational college as well has it set up so kids being home schooled can start attending at age 16, just general studies. But it's great that they don't have to worry about having the diploma. After a year or two in general studies they will be happy with those gpa's for whatever program they want to apply for.

It is not a traditional art form but I make artwork out if vinyl. This is one I made with vinyl base, those are all different pieces it is not printed on, all of the pieces are single colored vinyl and also Ink on top for the details. It is how I am creative I am not skilled at drawing by hand but I like working on my computer on the files and then cutting things out and piecing them together.

This does fit your criteria but it is expensive I have been wanting a drawing tablet for a while because using the mouse for prolonged periods of time is painful. If I win, a gift card would be just as awesome and I can save up for my tablet. Thanks for the awesome contest :)

I love myself because... I am me :)

My friend, a senior in high school, has been working on doing some home automation recently. He is working on some pretty cool stuff:

  • When he leaves for school, he presses a button and all of the lights in the house turn off. (I have left lights on numerous times so this saves a ton of energy!)

  • At night, past a certain time, he is working on installing motion sensors which when a person walks into the room the lights turn on to about 15%. (Not enough to blind you, but enough to see!)

  • When mail is put in through a slot on his mail box, he gets a notification on his phone along with the rest of his family. (He set his ringtone to "You've got mail!" I think it's pretty funny.)

So, he has some pretty cool ideas, some of which he is still working on. They are all pretty cool and he codes them himself.

To make things easier on you, this is what I am asking for. There isn't much on Amazon for under $2 but i found some gummies I might like. Thanks for holding this competition, it's pretty cool!

Just like how the hippies planned to save the planet in the 70s. No not drugs! Music! While several others here are trying to find items to use as weapons, I can promise that IF you manage to stop one madman with a weapon, there will be more. But if everyone could just come together with the power of music, the world could be a much more peaceful place!

So I would sit them down and ask for a few minutes of their time. Then just like the hippies I would put on a record, yes an actual vinyl record. It may not be the best record to play but I would play this record which is currently my favorite album. I would play a few songs and see if he enjoys it at all. If he does, I have tons of similar music that I could play for him and show him that there is so much to live for and so much music that he probably hasnt ever heard that he would really love if he had heard it. So there is still so much yet to discover.

If he doesnt like my music, I would start a conversation about what kind of music he likes, and what his favorite music is and ask about a time that music helped him cope with a situation.

I think this approach could be more successful and favorable over violence.

I chose /u/hmsdexter who posted a few days ago from Swazilan. Honestly I had to google Swazilan because I had never heard of it but learned it's in Africa. I went through her list and my favorite item was these adorable shoes.

I think based on her list she is a fun free spirited person. I think she also likes cats, which obviously makes a person awesome. In addition her introduction post say she volunteers at a children's home so I would imagine based on that she is a giving and generous person.

This might sound dumb but it's something that I use every day and like, for whatever reason is the last thing I think of. Like, if I were buying stuff for a new kitchen I guarantee I'd forget this and regret it. The item is tupperware. Any old tupperware will do. Dude, I use tupperware for freaking everything. You can store anything in it. It's great for keeping leftovers but also for keeping food fresh that might go stale. I also like it for storing any small items, like beads or lipsticks or...whatever. I feel like none of my friends own any but I own a decent amount because it comes up SO OFTEN. I dunno, maybe not interesting or insightful but I know it's something I would probably forget to buy if I was shopping for my new home.

The item I'd like to win is the book Beauty Queens on my book wishlist (it's the one linked). I've been dying to read it for a while now so I really want to get my hands on it!

Thanks for doing this great contest!

I love to make music because it lets me express myself without using words. I'm not the best wordsmith; I'm pretty awkward and have a bit of a stutter but music is music, you don't have to think of questions or make small talk, you just play. I'm always looking for new music to be inspired by and right now I've been eyeing http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001XAMMC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2YNAF6UBNSL5H&coliid=I1Y8QQYOE47IP4 this. (Sorry I can't hyperlink, I'm on my phone)
I love myself because even though I'm not the best at everything, I love to try new things in the hope that I may find something I'm really great at.

Thanks for the contest!

This PR class is nuts.

The best class I've ever been a part of was learning Arabic. The teacher was from Tunisia and a really cool guy. He encouraged outside learning, gave us fantastic resources outside of class, and was just an amazing teacher.

The students were all involved, tried their hardest, and even on quiz days the mood was upbeat. Plus the subject matter was amazing; we learned culture and language.

Everything that happened in the class was exactly what you would want in a class. It's hard to really explain. It was just perfect.

This would be awesome on my daughter's wall in her new room.

Hmm a funny story from my childhood that my mom used to always mention...I once brought my mom breakfast in bed, on a nice platter with a flower in a small vase and everything. After she ate and enjoyed my masterpiece, I slipped her a piece of paper. She asked what it was. "A bill," I said. Haha, I crack up every time I imagine my little self billing her for a bowl of cereal!

I choose 55 as my number and would love these yummy looking cookies if I win! "Lighthouse Treasers" seller is prime :)

I am an opera singer. I've been singing since I was 7 and have been on the professional stage since I was 16. I absolutely adore my art and am so lucky to have is as my job.
I have wanted this book for years but it only just came back on sale on amazon recently. It looks fascinating!

I love myself because I am always honest about things!

Thanks for this! x

And the next category: What are things that squirt?

  1. This one can also be an innuendo

  2. This one can be fun to play with

  3. This can be a woman's best friend

Or mix them all together for a fun and family friendly pool party!

And this is something I really want that should be kept away from all forms of squirting.
u/joelthezombie15 · 2 pointsr/randomactsofamazon

I had a friend who had a pool party for his birthday. His mom made him invite some girl from our class and her little sister. Well my friend had a little brother the same age as the girls sister so they played through the party. At one point we look over and see them playing "lifeguard" in the hot tub. So my friends mom yells at him to go to his room and change and that he wasn't allowed to swim anymore. So the kid goes and changes and he comes back outside covered in a huge towel and stand next to the little girl and drops the towel... He was completely naked and then he proceeded to jump into the hot tub and kissed the little girl. Then his mom dragged him out of the hot tub and grounded him for a month.

I'm going to choose 33.

I really need a LED light bulb so here's this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0073COMUW/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_BXv3tb03RKWF92M8

I don't know if there's a one item only limit or what so I'll just post the one.

Thanks for the contest.
