Have you tried adding a digestive enzyme? Heres a good one (for a cat i would mix 1/4 capsule with food).
Doctor's Best Best Digestive Enzymes, Vegetable Capsules, 90-Count by Doctor's Best http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Q487DC/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_gSxotb0DXK9PW

If the veggies still upset the stomach, try fresh cut wheat/oat grass ("cat grass") or even a powdered product such as "Green Mush". Its very important animals get some of the vitamins and minerals offered in vegetables. If veggies are not possible, you should add a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement

Salmon Oil

  • Benefit : Good source of Omega 3s and 6s, good for coat and skin health

  • Necessary?: Unless you have a steady source of grass fed proteins, it is highly recommended.

  • Use: Daily to several times a week, follow the recommended dosage on the bottle unless otherwise instructed. Avoid feeding multiple oils in one day/meal to prevent tummy upset..

  • Recommended Brand: Grizzly Salmon Oil - many salmon oils have soy in them, Grizzly does not.

    --------

    Pollock Oil

  • Benefit : Good source of Omega 3s and 6s, good for coat and skin health

  • Necessary?: Unless you have a steady source of grass fed proteins, it is highly recommended. Pollock Oil is a good substitute for Salmon Oil.

  • Use: Daily to several times a week, follow the recommended dosage on the bottle unless otherwise instructed. Avoid feeding multiple oils in one day/meal to prevent tummy upset.

    Recommended Brand: Grizzly Pollock Oil

    -------

    Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

  • Benefit : Good for coat and skin health, frequently used as a dietary supplement and ointment for dogs who suffer from skin allergies. Some people will also use it for flea control.

  • Necessary?: Many people wont feed it because it is a plant based oil. It is not a necessary part of the diet.

  • Use: Added to food Daily to several times a week - Feed 1tsp per 10lbs of body weight. Can also be used as an ointment.

  • Recommended Brand: Nature's Way Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

    -------

    Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Benefit : Balance PH level, promote digestive health and treatment of parasites.

  • Necessary?: It is a plant based product which may bother some PMR feeders - the uses (especially external) are worthwhile for many, however.

  • Use: Added to food a couple times a week - 1tsp per 50lbs of body weight. Can also be used to bathe (instead of shampoo) and used to treat fleas.

  • Recommended Brand: Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar

    -------

    Pre/Pro-Biotic

  • Benefit : Support digestive health and nutrient absorption

  • Necessary?: Some variety of Pre/Pro-biotic is recommended, especially for dogs new to raw or dogs with sensitive stomachs.

  • Use: Added to food daily - follow recommended dosage on the package

  • Recommended Brand: Wholistic Digest All

    -------

    Multi-Vitamin

  • Benefit : Ensure all necessary vitamins and minerals are included within your dog's diet

  • Necessary?: Some people opt to feed vitamins, others don't. I like the peace of mind of adding in a multi-vitamin a few times a week.

  • Use: Added to food daily or several times a week - follow recommended dosage on the package

  • Recommended Brand: Solid Gold Seameal - this contains plant products which some PMR prefer not to feed. There are other options out there if you choose not to feed plant products.

    -------

    Turmeric

  • Benefit : Anti-inflammatory properties can help with allergies and joint health/pain. Also supports digestive health and can boost the metabolism.

  • Necessary?: No. Some people use it to support joint health with/instead of glucosamine, it is also used for dogs who suffer from allergies.

  • Use: Added to food daily or several times a week 1/8 - 1/4tsp per 10lbs of body weight

    -------

There are likely others/other suggestions for brands, but this is what I regularly supplement with. I know many PMR feeders will avoid plant based products, but I don't mind them so much for supplementation.

Little late to the party, but my Sunmile goes through thawed chicken thighs/necks/whatever with absolute ease. It’s probably gone through about 450 pounds of chicken bones and it still works like brand new. I haven’t tried it with Turkey bones yet, but I imagine it would go through with a little convincing.

Some dogs are gulpers, some are chewers. I have two small (8kg) dogs. One gently and slowly chews everything he eats and the other inhales food and gulps it all down. With the gulper, I feed partially frozen to help slow her down. You can also buy plastic clamps like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Am-tech-S2955-6-Inch-Plastic-3-Piece/dp/B004TRQJVO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502140551&sr=8-1&keywords=plastic+clamp to hold onto the food. This will make them take their time, tear and chew :)

What kind of dog is the one having kidney issues? It’s often genetic. I’d add [these](Bladder Support for Dogs – Dog Bladder Control Pills are A Natural Cranberry Supplement for Dog Incontinence Urinary Tract Infection Relief & Kidney Support 55 Soft Chew Senior Dog Vitamins https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KKATQS6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_toQ-BbZHW5N9Y) into her diet.

It doesn't seem to take up as much space as you would think. The first photo in this link is my freezer. Space is pretty empty right now because I am going tomorrow to get 100# of dog food to fill the freezer up with. However, other photos were some that I saved for "inspiration."

There is a group of people on FB that I follow and many of them swear by "Reditainers" (appropriate, right?). I like to use Daiso's "Tupperware" - $1.50 for 2 containers which fit approximately 1# of raw food. The smaller containers come in a pack of 4 for $1.50 and I put green tripe in those.

They also sell reusable ziploc type bags if you would rather go the baggy type route. These bags are typically made of silicone and you can find many different ones on Amazon.

I've done some research, and most of the better grinders over 1hp can do turkey, like Weston's 22. It's expensive, but I'm prepared to saddle the cost if necessary. It'll pay for itself down the road if my oldest gets to the point that his teeth can't take it anymore. I hope it won't come to that.

If you have a KitchenAid stand mixer, then the Smokehouse Chef grinder attachment is what you want.

If you dont have a stand mixer already, then the [LEM Big Bite grinder](LEM Products 17801 Big Bite #12 .75HP Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074FBH56N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_8yCADb35Y6PSE) is the one for you.

They're both pricey. Like, well outside of your fifty buck range. But, that's the cost of a beefy motor and full stainless steel mechanisms. Given the cost savings of homemade raw, they should pay for themselves pretty quick: about $2 saved per day, per 11lb/5kg cat.

This is the one I bought

I cut a wood board and drilled 4 holes and just put some nuts on to hold it down. Not tedious, but you will need clamps to hold both sides of the board down so you have both hands free.

All in all, I can process 14 pounds of food in about an hour, including set up and clean up.

I read this book and found it very helpful. But I'd read a few for variety if you could to better understand the bigger picture and the different beliefs and takes on raw feeding. Dr. jean Hofve also has a book available through her website all about proper nutrition for animals over all (pro canned food, pro raw food, etc.).

You can buy Taurine capsules (500mg/capsule) such as this or this. For a 2kg food prep, I add 4000mg (8 capsules).

I’m honestly not comfortable with feeding my girl bones so I just feed her a daily calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, D3 vitamin pill with her meals.
