I bring it quite often in cafe so Keyboard cover is important, and i use universal transparent one to keep chroma light nicely looking. Under heavy load I let upper area free for air flow.
I was using also my MacBook Pro on couches or bed but it has no heat output on bottom of it. Gaming laptop especially ultra portable one like Blade needs to take a good "breath" in order to keep it less hot under heavy load, in internet browsing, paperwork or other light tasking you can use it like MacBook but not on gaming.
I don't really put attention on it like you when i had my first Blade 2015, because it was not as powerful like latest model, I played mostly on medium setting but now with pascal 1060 I play always on minimum high 1080p that pushes the Blade, so i undervolted it -0,120, and on open world gaming that really push CPU and GPU i just use this thing https://www.amazon.com/Just-Mobile-Lazy-Couch-MacBook/dp/B003NNMDCE and my max CPU temp never break 82 Celsius, about Fan noise yes it is way louder than MacBook around 52dB on gaming but if you are using headphone or set volume to around 70% in my personal taste it don't bother me at all since games sound covers it.
Edit: there's also a lot quiter gaming laptops out there like Alienware, Clevo or new Asus Zephyrus, but it doesn't meet my qualifications as a laptop after getting used to a MacBook pro and Vaio Z as my main laptop.

Sounds like you are a big fan of the Razer Blade you have. Glad to hear. Should I get it haha. Pull the trigger on it haha? My one question for you is 2 folds. Firstly if I get the 256gb ssd model which is cheaper obisouly I can then in the future upgrade that. But I hear it'll void warranty? You mention an external drive. I've been looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T3-Portable-SSD-MU-PT250B/dp/B01AVF6UQQ?th=1&psc=1
Is it possible for me save games and software on that? Just have to make sure I have it plugged in for it to run.

I have the black ones on my OG BWX and they are exactly what you're looking for. Bonus, they're PBT so the keycaps won't fade with use.

I would highly recommend a keycap puller as well (they can be bought for cheap on amazon as well) to remove the keys so you don't damage any switches. It's also a good tool to have on hand for cleaning. I prefer the wire pullers personally, like these : https://www.amazon.com/WASD-Keyboards-Wire-Keycap-Puller/dp/B00AZCGF7K/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1541268512&sr=1-3&keywords=keycap+puller&dpID=31aTQBdKGBL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

I have a Razer Blade 15 and I personally use this dock.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T2RW54X/

I originally had a USB-C dock instead of the thunderbolt 3 and whenever I would run anything that used the NVIDIA graphics card it would make the screens flicker. (USB-C is 10gbps while thunderbolt 3 is 40gbps)

This dock runs everything perfectly and is the best I could find for a reasonable price.

Note: if you have non display port monitors you need an active dongle instead of a passive one. I have two HDMI monitors (1080p & ultrawide 1080p) and I had bought two dongles but they were passive so I returned them and got active dongles (linked below).

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5DX296/

As for charging, the Razer Blade 15 needs a 200+ watt charger while both USB-C and thunderbolt 3 max out at 90w. I really wanted the single cable setup as well, but the two cables are a must.

Hope this helped fellow gamer

This is the sleeve I bought for my RB15 based on a review in this sub and it’s honestly been amazing. Incredible construction quality and well padded yet thin. Couldn’t recommend it enough 👌🏻

u/Master_Goose · 1 pointr/razer

I recently got this one and it works like a charm!! It's solid and very protective. Great price too. My blade 15 fits into it perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N6NI3ZR?psc=1

  1. Just plug and play. I'm running a Samsung T3 with my blade right now, works flawlessly and is fast. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T3-Portable-SSD-MU-PT500B/dp/B01AVF6UQQ/

  2. Either from Razer or if you buy from HiDevolution, they offer extra ones there as well. stocks run out pretty fast so basically have to check often for it.

  3. What resolution are you trying to run it? If its one monitor it won't really be an issue, use the HDMI or a thunderbolt or usb 3 to Displayport adapter and it'll work fine. Multi-monitor is hard to set up to use the 1060 properly. If its standard 1080p, you'll get pretty good performance, anything over that will depend on the game you're playing.
u/tydaawwg · 1 pointr/razer

I got this for my stealth.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FKTZLBS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not sure why it's not available currently but I absolutely love it. It's approved and works with the Stealth, can drive 3 monitors, charges the laptop so I can keep my charger in my bag, has an additional USB-C port, plenty of other ports. I've had it for a month and absolutely love it.

u/zamardii12 · 2 pointsr/razer

No offense OP but that cooling pad looks like a cheap POS. I ordered this one instead. A lot thinner and I trust Cooler Master has quiet fans. One large 160mm fan is more than adequate as well. https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-NotePal-Ultra-Slim-R9-NBC-XSLI-GP/dp/B005C31HC0/ref=pd_sbs_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=FN2Q2NEVQ5XGZ5QXRY9W

u/cancerboy51135 · 1 pointr/razer

Your best bet would be to go with a powered docking station which would connect to your stealth via one usb c cable. Certain docking stations like the one linked below provide up to 60w power which would work for the stealth which can charge via usb c and only requires 45w of power. From the docking station you can connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse or whatever other accessories you may want.

I currently have this docking station for my Razer blade and love it.

u/dashmoopies · 2 pointsr/razer

I do agree 256 is pretty useless for what i do too. I really cant tell if its worth it or not cause both are great. I'm not sure how advanced you used windows, but in the power options you can limit the CPU usage to 99% and it almost completely takes care of the fan speed going up for no reason on the 2015 model. If the extra money on a new one isn't too big of a deal i would do that over used but thats just me.

You can't put in a second SSD cause there is only one slot, but what i did for the 2015 model i used to have is i just got one of these and never ran out of storage again. https://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Solid-State-Drive-SD8SN8U-1T00-1122/dp/B0194MV300/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474683831&sr=8-2&keywords=1tb+m.2+sata+ssd

if you do go with the 2016 Blade you will need the newer type of SSD like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-950-PRO-Internal-MZ-V5P512BW/dp/B01639694M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474683889&sr=8-2&keywords=nvme+1tb

u/etacarinae · 1 pointr/razer

What test results do you want?

The stock 16GB of RAM is 2666MHz, so it's best to go for something that matches it.

The most popular 216GB kit is: Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory, Kit of 2 (HX426S15IB2K2/32), because it has a CAS latency of 14, better than stock.

I went with this kit: G.SKILL 32GB (2 x 16G) Ripjaws Series DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM F4-2666C18D-32GRS because I couldn't get the Kingston kit in Australia and it has a CAS latency of 16 making it faster than stock and it works great.

There's also even cheaper: CORSAIR Vengeance Performance 32GB (2x16GB) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Laptop Memory Model CMSX32GX4M2A2666C18 but it has a CAS latency of 18.

Right now the Kingston is cheaper than my GSKILL kit (it was the inverse back when I bought mine) so I'd definitely go with that.

As for 2
32GB (64GB) kits, Samsung has finally released their new kit they teased last year: 2xM471A4G43MB1-CTD, but no one like corsair, kingston or crucial has one available yet, save for mushkin

cc /u/vvildstar just in case you don't see my comment.

And ignore the marketing that says 2019 only supports 64GB, it has the same CPU as the 2018 and therefore both support 64GB.

u/WidowMaker1337 · 2 pointsr/razer

I had really good luck with Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory, Kit of 2 (HX426S15IB2K2/32). The speed/latency has been perfect for me. I didn't have to mess with the BIOS at all.

Also, for 2666MHz, how do these two compare? Hyper X and Ballistix

Also, this is the 3200 Hyper X. I know the clock speed is higher, but the CL goes from 15 to 20. I am thinking the 2666 CL15 may be the best value

says 32 but people have used it for their lg 34 curved as well.

so long as it supports 20 pounds, i think you're fine but i bought a wali gas spring that supposedly support 20 pounds and it did not work. ended up with this spring system(25lb weight limit.)

u/B_Wease · 1 pointr/razer

It would be a bit of a hassle, but I would get the 256, since the additional upgrade is already at $200 I'd use the 256 for a while until you are required to upgrade your storage and pick this up -

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-950-PRO-Internal-MZ-V5P512BW/dp/B01639694M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463596339&sr=8-1&keywords=Samsung+M.2

That's at least what I plan on doing. I don't see my self installing every game that I play on the laptop because I have a PC that I do most of my gaming on, the laptop is more for the games that play more than others and will most likely be playing on the go when needed or at work.

And then, if you're already content with the storage you have on your PC, and your MOBO has a M.2 slot, stick the Razer OEM M.2 SSD in your PC, that way you don't just waste the storage.

u/soundthesam · 2 pointsr/razer

They come standard in black.

mercury white is only available in a few configs, currently there is the 2070 in white, and the last gen 2060 advanced model

>There was a post here a few days ago where some unfortunate Razer victim was complaining of having to repeatedly send the unit in for RMA as they needed it for I think graphic design and they were losing business, unable to work with all of the issues and turn around time for multiple RMA's. Compound that with another recent post where someone else is complaining that the most recent time they had to send their laptop to Razer for RMA Razer didn't insure the package on the way back and entered the address slightly different (221 St. instead of 222 St.) and the unit was delivered to some stranger and there is no insurance because Razer wanted to save money. Fed-Ex stipulates that if the contents of a package they are delivering is more than $500 it has to have insurance, so Razer lied to Fed-Ex to save money and then screwed up the shipping address:

For your money, I'd honestly recommend the Asus ROG GL502. I have the much older ROG G750JZ, it's a good station for when you have to have performance on the go and you're in places for extended periods of time.

I do have the late 2016 Razer Blade 14 with the GTX 1060 as my daily driver since I am on the move a lot and carrying a 10 lb laptop around just isn't practical. I also have a desktop at home, though I'm in the middle of upgrading to Skylake and a 10-series GPU.

On a side note, if you really want to go balls-to-the-wall "portable" computer, buy an MSI GT83VR

I did better option for me in my opinion because I bought XPS 13 (9380) for $833 USD (my company has 70% off on dell products) with specification i7-8565U (4.6GHZ), 16 GB Ram 2133mhz, 512GB nvme samsung 970 evo, 3YR pro support(better then razer support) and i bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NDZV2WC/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 with RTX2070 + external monitor 144mhz

If your looking for a sleeve I recommend

tomtoc 360 Protective Sleeve for 15 inch Dell XPS, 14 HP Acer Chromebook, 14 Inch Thinkpad T and E Series Laptop, Shockproof Notebook Bag Case with Accessory Pocket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079ZYRM58/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_AYNqDbSPCBJG6

Fits my blade perfectly

u/heyzeus123 · 1 pointr/razer

I recommend the Targus Pro-Tek EVA Laptop Sleeve for 15.6-Inch Dell XPS 15. I got this for my Razer Blade 15.6 Advanced GTX1060 (2018) and fits it perfectly, i.e. snuggly with extra room on the side with ports (see photos on Amazon Customer Reviews). What sold me on this sleeve is the unique stiff ridge along the edge of the sleeve to protect against drops.

https://www.amazon.com/Targus-Pro-Tek-Laptop-15-6-Inch-TSS941US/dp/B01N6NI3ZR

I bought mine on sale directly from the Targus website, but it seems to be discontinued now. But it is still available on the internet, e.g. Amazon from third-party sellers.

u/Matt_Williams123 · 1 pointr/razer

It could be that your keys are not propery connected to the switches, I would check that they are all connected by pressing each key on firmly to check if that fixes the issue.

If the propelm pressists however I would recommend that you look at getting a Key Puller which will allow you to remove the keys and check that there is nothing wrong with the switches below the keys.

You can get a key puller for a good price here: http://www.amazon.com/WASD-Keyboards-Wire-Keycap-Puller/dp/B00AZCGF7K (this will work on any mechanical keyboard)

I used this cable: Plugable USBC to DisplayPort Adapter Cable

It's actually super nice just being able to use this single cable rather than having to keep track of a small adapter and additional cable.

I took a tennis-overgrip (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00GKQFTQS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), cut it into little squares matching the size of the individual keys, and crazy glued them to the tops of each of the keys (except the top row because i don't have a problem with those...yet). Yes they do cover the label lighting but that doesn't matter to me. Makes a huge difference. I also did it on the d-pad. Here is a picture of it (https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/atjmh2/rubber_grips_on_tartarus_v2_keys/)

As for the colors, yah, you can do what you said, but that doesn't excuse the poor design.

Based on what you're describing, what you're looking for is probably less of a hub and more of a USB-C/Thunderbolt dock.

I have this CalDigit USB-C Dock which I use with my Blade 14". The build quality is very nice and sturdy and it tends to work fairly well. Though your mileage may vary.

It doesn't charge the blade 14" though b/c you can't push 165W of power through USB-C, but it should be able to charge the stealth just fine. There are also other USB-C/Thunderbolt docks such as Dell's WD15 Dock and Pluggable's USB-C Dock. Though most USB-C/Thunderbolt docks tend to have a mixed bag of reviews, so make sure to do your research before selecting one.

Though as for the "Affordable" part, that depends on what you consider affordable. Most of the docks tend to cost around $150

A hub, which is normally unpowered (No external supply besides the usb connection), would probably have similar ports and be cheaper, but likely would not charge the computer

you mean like this one? Or this one? That's just the two brands I mentioned.

Kingston 32GB CL15 DDR4 2666

this is your best bet, it's one of the lowest CL memories available and it's fully compatible with the Blade to run at full 2666. I have the 16gb and it works just fine at the stated timings/speed.

Something like this, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01639694M/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_d_XpKjxb1HAYCBR , is completely fine. But you void your laptop warranty when installing it on the razer blade stealth.

Amazon Link this one is good, just separate the two tong things and put the keycap in between them, and pull up!

Looks like the standard M.2 SSD, not NVMe, sadly. They usually do say that right on the box

I think also, it's either the cable or the monitor driver. I have following cable, in case this is of any help: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EXKDRAC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just looked up finding this one.
It has a SSD and a 1TB HDD. It also have a better GPU and it's 800€ cheaper for me, and with no risk to deal with razer support, but no 4K. May consider this one right now, thanks.

As a reference, I barely hit the constant 144fps mark playing TF2 on low settings with my 1060 blade laptop. So yes, I have my laptop hooked up to a 144hz monitor using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EXKDRAC. Hope this helps.

I have this one. It fits the Blade exactly.

Cooler Master NotePal X-Slim Ultra-Slim Laptop Cooling Pad with 160mm Fan (R9-NBC-XSLI-GP) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005C31HC0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_nCCwzb7MN2DK6

Posted about this a bit ago to inform the holiday rush.

TL:DR A commenter stated Cooler Master has a kick ass and affordable pad. I can attest to their cases. Also there are few other tricks to the trade. Regardless you system will get hot.

Just note that intake is in the bottom and output is in the hinge which makes it easy to over heat the keyboard surface.

A little disappointed with the prices to be honest. For $100 less than Razer's cheapest model, you can get one with the same specs but a 1070 graphics card and 15.6" display.

I guess Razer's models are for people who prefer smaller displays above all else.
