I've been reading trip reports for as long as I've been predisposed to exploring altered states of consciousness (my entire adult life, or around/about 17 yrs), and yours, while shorter than I might've hoped, is one of the best that I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Thank you for sharing it. Maybe bc, consciously or not, it's just such an experience that I'm looking for whenever partaking in entheogenic sacrament(s). I've yet to go that high on the dosage with 4-aces but methinks it's about time to get comfortable with the idea. Did you combine anything else or were you under the influence of 4-aco-dmt only?

Also, you'll have to let us/me know what you think of the galaxy projector that you purchased. I looked long and hard at them for a while and due to the overwhelming amount of options, ended up going with a fairly simple (but rather impressive) sound reactive 12W RGB jobbie with like 48 LEDS (see below, I'm on mobile so I apologize if the link doesn't format correctly). Best $15 I've ever spent, hands down but I'd be willing to drop some more coin on a better one if the increased cost is justified. This one can be a bit much/intense at times and has 1 mode - ON. If plugged in = on. This has an added bonus of being very easy to operate regardless of my mental state but at times leaves one wanting for more options/settings, etc

a GOOD scale with a known tolerance. that last part is important. the normal gemini 20 does not have a stated tolerance. one scale could be +- 2mg, the next one could be +-7mg. spend the extra money and get the gemini 20 PRO! its +-2mg tolerance, has a might nicer weigh boat, and can take a power adapter as well as batteries.

you also need small spoons. http://www.amazon.com/Dash-Smidgen-Pinch-Measuring-Spoon/dp/B002X9I4RC i got those. the smallest one (drop i think) fits perfectly into a size 0 gel cap.

next, you need something to hold your chemicals. amazon also has bags of empty gel caps. get size 0. they will be way too large for most RC's... but that way you can also put other chemicals in them if you wish. a size 0 will hold around 400mg of MDMA (or a chemical with similar density). as long as your ok with taking pills, size 0 is the way to go.if you go with something smaller (like size 4 or 3) don't get the above spoons, get a micro scoop or micro spatula. SEOH makes good lab gear for the price, and they also sell though amazon.

when weighing something active <10 mg, you want to NOT tare your scale. put the weigh boat on, and turn it on. let it warm up and make sure there is no air or vibrations. keep it >3 feet from electronics. calibrate your scale using tweezers. never touch the calibration weights. put the empty pulled apart gel cap on the scale. (say its .095 mg). if you want 7mg of chemical, start putting chemical in the pill until your scale reads .102mg. with a +- 2mg tolerance, that means you have between 5 and 9mg of chemical. however, i believe the gemini 20 pro has a linear error since its calibrated with 2 different weights, i think the error would show up when weighing the empty gel cap, and since your measuring the DIFFERENCE in weight, not the weight its self, it will be much more accurate than the +-2mg tolerance.

if you are weighing out large amounts of powder, get some weigh boats. SEOH micro boats are good. they are small, but will hold quite a lot of powder (good up to around 50g of most substances). yet again, amazon.

if you are doing volumetric dosing, get some graduated cylinders... don't cheap out and get plastic ones, get a nice borocilite glass one. and remember, beakers are not for measuring precise liquid plumes, graduated cylinders are! yet again, i have SEOH brand ones. but get what you want. i went with them because i was buying a large bit of glass, and its free shipping with orders over 75 usd, but you most likely won't be spending that :p

if you have any questions, just ask!

So I spent a bunch of time researching this a while back. I was considering going next-level from the gemini. The gemini is a perfectly good scale, but there are some things about it that are frustrating: mainly the very small weighing platform (weigh boat notwithstanding) and the auto shutoff.

There is a lot of weirdness out there in the mid-range scale market, which led to some FUD on my part. In particular, make sure you research the brand and make sure it is reliable. I gathered that there are a lot of knock-offs on the market that aren't great, particularly on e-bay and amazon.

For instance, I'm pretty sure that Intell-Lab scale you linked below is one of the crappy ones. Check out the reviews on it here. The Tree ones like this one are also shit.

The brands that looked good to me after doing research were A&D, Ohaus, Adam, Citizen. For whatever reason these are rarely if ever listed on amazon or e-bay, only the crappy knockoffs. I guess that's just how the market works? If you're in the us, google old will knott scales. They're a good place to look and find reviews.

The benefits of spending a few hundred on a scale are: somewhat improved accuracy (probably +/- 3 mg rather than 5), most allow you to configure auto shutoff, plugs into the wall, sturdier construction and it's easier to use weigh papers with a larger weighing platform. I much prefer that to using the gemini weigh boat personally.

Also, it's pretty freaking cool to blow on the platform and watch the numbers jump around. :)

For opsec reasons, I'd rather not to go into the scale I purchased, but I'm very happy with the investment.

I had an amazing book when I was 16 or so. It was called The Psychedelics Encyclopedia. I read it over and over again, learning about the "standard" drugs like LSD and psilocybin, but also about more obscure drugs like DMT. That book led me to PIHKAL and TIHKAL, both of which should be in everyone's book collection here. Those two contained lots and lots more information about more obscure drugs. By this time I was over 18 and had had a chance to try LSD and cannabis. A few years down the road (early 20's), I was first introduced to RC's, although I wasn't aware of that term at the time, it was just an unusual drug that my guy had. It turned out to be something in the MDMA family, popular in the mid 90's. After that, whenever I heard of an unusual drug being available, I sought it out. Eventually I got internet access, and started making connections on Usenet, which was an absolute and total game-changer. Between having Usenet for discussion and for deal-making, and old-style websites like Hyperreal for reference (in addition to the increasingly well-worn books I already had), the internet changed everything. After the turn of the millennium, I started encountering drugs I didn't like, and it started becoming harder to find sources for the ones I did like. The honeymoon was over, and cops and shitheads had found the internet. Usenet became less of a deal, and web forums and IRC became the thing. Started feeling like real life, with cops and scammers proliferating online. Erowid had taken over the Hyperreal archive intact (you can still read it in its original state on Erowid somewhere, gives you a real idea of what the online drug scene was like in the mid-to-late 90s, worthy of study) and started becoming it's own thing, surpassing the limited resources of Hyperreal and essentially taking over the drug research scene, in those not-before-Google-but-when-Google-still-sucked days. Then, fast forward a few years, Facebook (bad idea), Silk Road (excellent idea), Tripsit (fabulous idea), PsychonautWiki (holy-shit-unreal idea!), Reddit (probably a bad idea, we'll see), other online markets (less excellent idea), and we're here.

You can get a good scale for about 20 dollars. Make sure to have you scale on a level surface(you can buy one of those levels with the bubble in it for like 3 dollars) and make sure to calibrate your scale before every use. Also keep your scale clean and make sure you keep it somewhere where it won't be dropped or anything.

Here's a good scale

Here's a cheap reliable level

Here's a nice little scooping tool for your powders

Stay safe my friend!

Amazon! You can find packs of 12/24/48/etc. vials / amber bottles for extremely cheap. You can also get very cheap (in a good way, they're all high quality) nasal sprayers, as well. I have SOOOO many left over amber bottles and such.

Here are some examples!

1oz Amber Bottles 12pk

Same thing, but 2oz.

12 Amber Vials with Droppers

Larger Clear Round Pyrex bottle

2ml amber dram bottles (these also come in 24-36+ counts, too

...and there's so much more! Amazon is a goldmine for research materials in my experience! Hope I could help!

Plus its really easy to fold into different shapes. Like if you fold it in half with two pointy ends, it's not too hard to pour the powder into a pill capsule. Another easy way to pour powder into a pill is with plastic weighing spatulas, like the blue one in the following link. You use the skinnier end and it fits right into the pill.

https://chemglass.com/disposable-smartspatulas?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

Edit: here it is on amazon. Pretty pricey since it comes with like 300, might be able to find lower amounts by searching disposable weighing spatula. I used to just get them for free from a lab i worked at.

Really informative book on Lucid Dreaming and a lot of the techniques apply to expanding consciousness and mindfulness that served me as a good starting point to exploring more into this and other topics.

This was also another great book when I started looking into meditation and more mystical methodologies. It definitely is subjective but both are interesting reads!

Both are easily found online for free too.

Hey mate, you don’t know me but I promise this is exactly what you want. There is no equal.

Afrin 12 Hour Pump Mist, Original, 0.5 Ounce (15mL)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019DL5KAG/

Rinse it out, twice. Also, each spray is 0.1mL so figure out your ideal NEP dose and remember to put 1mg of table salt per mL of water (helps keep it stable long-term, germ free).

If you aren’t buying from Amazon make sure you aren’t ordering the 30mL ones that have same color scheme. Those are unmetered and not what you want.

> Has anyone used those small, timed lockboxes to supplement self-control with any success?

YES. This shit is fucking amazing:

Honestly, this should be part of harm-reduction 101. IMO, it's as important as having a milligram scale when dealing with potent addictive substances.

It's not perfect, but it helps so much. It's saved me countless times from redosing addictive benzos and stimulants. I've got my entire stash locked up right now... (8 hours remaining).

At first you get pissed off, "why the FUCK did I lock it for so long?", then the next day you're like, "thank god I didn't keep redosing".

You get used to it. Just make a habit of always locking it up after dosing, even if you think you don't need to.

I was thinking about making a detailed post about my experiences using one of these things. I might do it later. Anyways, I highly recommended these boxes.

Edit: One hexen-specific tip is to weigh out your dose, lock it up, and THEN take your dose. Because it's a lot harder get yourself to lock that shit up after you're high and immediately fiending for more. Or if you do plan on redosing, lock it for 90 minutes or whatever your desired redose interval is.
u/bigsantaSR · 2 pointsr/researchchemicals

Pretty sure this is what you are looking for.

I use them, and they are fantastic, except that if you leave them open and set them on a table they have the tendency to tip over from the weight of the cap. Other than that, one of the best drug-related purchases I've made.

Edit: found em for cheaper on ebay

u/xsoccer92x · 2 pointsr/researchchemicals

Amazon. These are what I use and they function perfectly.

I keep em in this case

Might as well throw in some Silica Gel Packets
