I'm selling my dearly beloved sound system, as I just moved into a smaller space and sadly don't have the room for it anymore. The amplifier and pre-amplifiers are in great condition, as are the Yamaha speakers. The Polk RTA 12Cs and the Klipsch subwoofer were damaged in a move, and are being sold steeply discounted.

The amplifier is a Harman Kardon PA2200 Amplifier. It outputs 100 watts/channel into 8Ω (stereo) or 200W into 8Ω (mono) and has a 10Hz-100KHz frequency response. Original value of $300 (based on what I could find online), asking $120 OBO

The paired pre-amplifier is a Harman Kardon PT2300 radio tuner/pre-amp combo. It can be used to hook together inputs from a TV, aux cable or bluetooth receiver, record player, etc and switch between them to output to the amplifier and subwoofer. Rated for 180 watts. Original value of $250 (based on what I could find online), asking $75 OBO

The second pre-amplifier is a Pyramid PR2500/SEA2500 pre-amp. It doesn't have quite as much power at the PT2300, but still serves as an excellent low power amplifier for any beginner/intermediate home set up. Sold for $70 new, asking $35.

The Yamaha speakers are S115IVA-OAK Yamahas. The wood veneer around the edges is pretty chipped, but the speakers still sound brand new. They have 15" cones and can put out 1000W of sound at maximum power. These are excellent speakers for providing sound in a small or medium sized venue, exercise class, outdoor party, etc. They can put out a lot of sound, and still sound great. These sold for around $400 new, asking $150.

I have a pair of Polk RTA 12Cs. These are some really excellent vintage speakers that Polk was selling back in the 80s. They were near top of the line for their time and still sound excellent today. They have open air tweeters mounted on top, covered by removable silk housing. Unfortunately, when we moved the top housing of one of the speakers broke, and the tweeter now has a very faint hum when powered on. The speaker still sounds good and the housing can by easily repaired, and the other speaker is in good condition. I've called Polk and they sell kits to fix the tweeter for $60. I really love these speakers and would like to find someone who could enjoy them. $50 OBO

Finally, I have a Klipsch KSW-300 Subwoofer. This was a great sub, and paired with the Yamahas can really fill up a room with 300W of bass. However, it's amplifier+power assembly has also been damaged. It has a hum when turned on, and sometimes has to be switched on and off several times to make it stay on. The amplifier and power assembly is still sold for repair for $70 from Sybesma's Electronics, and could be replaced pretty easily. Again, just looking for someone down to fix up a sweet piece of equipment. One wooden leg is missing, and another has the black veneer removed. Free to a crafty home.

Willing to work out a deal if you're interested in buying the amps/pre-amps together or with the speakers.

Like someone said, compost is huge. But you don't have to jump into making it yourself. Strange's has some mushroom compost for like $7 for a big bag. I used a ton on various garden plots I made, after a year of meh garden results, and most of my plants grew far bigger than advertised. What your soil is like is important because it may need a bit of work in addition to compost.

- How big is the area you're looking to do?

- How important is organic/chemical free/etc. gardening to you? I ask because I noticed someone said use miracle gro. A lot of soils like that are so full of chemicals it's crazy, and I don't think they work that well. Depending on your area and how your soil is, there are plenty of other, healthier options, even if you don't spring for organic soil.

Oh, and in gardening there are tons of hacks people will want to tell you about. Most of them either don't work or aren't worth the time and money. Raised beds are all the rage and look nice but may not be advantageous in your case. Don't trust Youtube videos that are like "GROW 500 pounds of tomatoes in 3 square feet by doing this!"

This is a great book for knowing what to do and when for gardens: https://www.amazon.com/Homegrown-Harvest-Season-Season-Sustainable/dp/1845335600

I also make some great tomato cages and arches out of cattle panel and plan to make some for peppers this year since they got so tall last year, if you're interested. They're very strong and don't rust.

I am selling my 48 inch Sony Bravia 1080p LED TV.

Imgur

Good as new. Have a stand, a wall mount for it as well. Great sound and picture quality. Rated very highly and was something I looked into thoroughly before spending what I did on it new.
An ideal gaming tv. Works great and is in perfect condition, just am not home nor use it often enough to justify having it for me anymore.

For anyone who wants to see some info/ specs before checking it out:

[FOR SALE]: Canon PowerShot SX30 IS - $100

It's a point and shoot camera with pretty awesome zoom, great condition. The screen does a nifty pop out/rotational thing so not only is it protected from scratches, but you can move it to pretty much any angle you need to take your shot, including selfies. Comes with battery (still good) and charger, and I could probably dig up the manual if I needed to.

Have a sampling of pictures taken on a Peru trip a couple of years ago with this very camera. It's done us well, but I picked up a mirrorless camera the wife's Christmas gift this year so we'd have something a little more compact to take hiking and whatnot, so it's time for this guy to go.

Yeah but you don't have to spend much at all to just put your toe in the water. Study for and pass the entry level technician exam (which is super easy, it's a memorization effort) and get an inexpensive 5 watt handheld that can reach your nearest repeater and you are on your way for well under $50. It's fun.

Anyone interested in a Green Day ticket for Sunday, March 12 at ODU? (You'd have to sit next to me, but I promise I don't smell that bad...) I would also be happy to car pool, though I'm planning to stay Sunday night and drive back Monday.

Still looking to sell a full sized bed, perfect for a kids room or guest room. Includes a trundle drawer, mattress, and boxspring. It's solid wood but I am not sure what type of wood and we did paint it white. Pic Asking $250 (I also have a matching but unpainted dress I may be able to sell with it).

Also still have a Krups BeerTender mini keg-orator It's only been used twice and I have several extra tubes. Asking $75 how about $50 obo.

Selling my iPhone 6s Plus 128gb for Verizon. I believe Verizon phones are unlocked by default, but I’m no expert on such things. It is in good condition. There are a few super tiny scratches you can only see if you are really looking for them.

I've wanted a HAM technicians license for years now as a secondary to my main hobby (FPV drone racing and freestyle) but I'm terrible at studying and terrible at tests. I would like some info as well. Book studying doesn't do it for me. YouTube videos have been the most helpful so far. I just don't know if I'll find the time to learn enough to pass the exam.

Edit: OP, I bought this handheld transceiver a year or two ago and for the price its really good. The brand came recommended from a friend that is a HAM.

I would highly recommend these. I've been using them for a year now. Great for job, running, and bike rides (I commute to work everyday on bike) and they stay in and sound great.

Clearing out stuff due to move. DM me!

u/pluton_orebody · 1 pointr/rva

No problem. A few of my friends have this tube by the same manufacturer as the other. It's $20 but has significantly thicker material (felt like the same stuff as a whitewater raft), cupholders, and a net across the bottom you can sit on rather than fall through. Have fun!

u/molluskich · 4 pointsr/rva

Is anyone here a Venture Bros fan? I find myself with two copies of the Go Team Venture! art book and I don't need both. It goes for about $27 on Amazon, I'm happy to let the shrink wrapped copy I have go for $20.

Have a fancy antenna in MD. Works great and everyone remarks on the clarity. I have the major networks (CBS, NBC, FOX) and a few other garbage channels that I never watch.

u/tiglathpilesar · 17 pointsr/rva

If you don't want to subscribe to Hulu and want the same, a $25 digital antenna will give you access as well. Gets a bit spotty when it's really storming outside, otherwise works pretty well.

ASUS 24" 144hz Gaming Monitor Very nice monitor for PC gaming. 144Hz refresh rate, 3d support, HDMI Display port and DVI inputs. I bought 3 of these to run in eyfinity surround, but found the performance hit wasn't worth the surround. Keeping 2 and selling this one. It's basically brand new, used for less than a few days. Still have original box and everything that came with it. $200

u/MRG_RVA · 2 pointsr/rva

We do Huguenot Bridge to Pony Pasture regularly. Takes anywhere from 2.5 - 4 hours or so depending on water level. Just have to get out at Z-Dam. Also, we've been using this tube and its great, esp for $20
