I've been recommended CoQ10 as a migraine treatment. It is apparently one of the few supplements with a proven track record to reduce migraines. Link to study

It would be very cool if it gives me smooth skin. I don't really have wrinkles yet, so it would be neat if they just don't show up now, and I have 50% fewer migraines to boot!

Edit: I was already eyeing this earlier today after another migraine bout, and this thread tipped me over to purchasing it lol. I am trying this brand.

This Attitude one is aloe free, although cetearyl alcohol is occasionally made with coconut oil instead of palm oil. It doesn’t appear that this is probably the case for this, but just a heads up. This was the one that was recommended “for kids.”

This Nurture one is coconut and aloe free.

Also, apparently, so is this Neutrogena one! It uses sacred lotus flower instead of aloe.

I use one of these little spring epilator things on my face: https://www.amazon.com/Spring-Facial-Hair-Remover-Bleaching/dp/B00K4W2V1K/

It’s pretty gentle and easy to use, and I can do it a little bit every day to keep up on things. I just do it while I’m watching TV and stuff, without a mirror.

I don't think drying lotions behave all that similarly to acne patches - a drying lotion will mostly just dry out the surface of a pimple, whereas an acne patch absorbs the pus while maintaining a moist environment, which helps promote healing.

Have you considered switching to large hydrocolloid bandages like this? You can cut small patches out of the large squares. I think they're a bit more cost effective than acne patches, if less convenient.

This makes me wish the La Roche Posay Iso Urea I tried a few years ago didn't have such a strong fragrance. It is literally the only LRP product I've tried with any fragrance. Anyone out there who has used La Roche Posay Iso Urea in the past few months -- does it still have a strong fragrance? I liked how it was a non-irritating exfoliant and came in an economy sized bottle.

Speaking of barrier repair ingredients and fragrance, this American version of the Atopalm Intensive Moisturizing Cream doesn't have fragrance, according to the Q&A on Amazon.

I began using The Ordinary's about 3 weeks ago and I've noticed a very visible reduction in the PIH on my chin. It's been great so far with very mild tingling in the beginning, which went away when I applied moisturizer on top.

Maybe try a plastic lash curler.

Plastic Curler from Japonesque

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen plastic tweezers too.

You get pustules from shaving? Am I reading that correctly?

If you have bad hormonal breakouts, I’d give DIM supplements a try. Honestly DIM supplements and pantothenic acid supplements have been a god send for me. (I had two periods a month from a stupid fibroid and the DIM has made my second period vanish)

I do shave my face. Or dermaplane. I use the folding twinkle razors. I do have about four face hairs that I do pluck out. I will use Vanicream cleanser as a “shave cream”. But I’ve never had ingrown hairs or razor burn from shaving. The only place I do get razor bumps is in my bikini area. There’s a bunch of products on amazon that help your problem. Just search “razor bumps”

Good luck!

I tried a toner with fermented ingredients and ended up giving myself fungal acne. Yeast naturally lives on your face, you don't want to feed it so it takes over, which I essentially did.

This was the toner.

Scaj warned me about it, but I didn't listen. Oops :(
At least it's easy to treat with anti dandruff shampoo and athlete's foot cream. It took me a month to stop itching and seeing the little red spots and white heads.

I thought this sub was getting silent... Good thing for starting this thread!

Skin type combo/dry, acne prone

Concern adapting to tretinoin and taking it slowly, main concerns are sensitivity and dryness (mostly the latter).

I’ve been eyeing these 2 for my ‘toner’ step:

Use sunscreens that have than PPD 16+ or PA++++. IMO, it's overkill to use PPD 40-60; it's like using SPF 100. I've noticed that European sunscreens with highest PPD tend to have white cast and very greasy. I usually recommend Kanebo Allie Extra UV Gel SPF 50 PA++++ for my POC clients. It has no white cast and non-greasy.

I use these from amazon! One of them I've had for 5 years now and it's held up well

This is the one I'm talking about. I just happened to be working last night and looked at the ingredients after reading your post. I'm not sure what the percentage of urea is in it, but it's helping my eczema breakout around my eyes right now where my medicated hydrocortisone isn't doing squat.

Try Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I had the same problem and tried many lip balms, and none worked well. The “natural” lip balms like Burts Bees were especially bad. I live in a super dry desert climate and Aquaphor Healing Ointment is the only lip balm that’s actually made a difference. It works noticeably better than plain Vaseline(petroleum jelly).

Ah yeah. I have a silicone one, the bristles are just further apart/deeper than the one you have: https://www.amazon.com/Massager-Shampoo-Silicon-Tourmaline-Contained/dp/B076Q6442Z
