> "Somewhere to the north, something terrible was happening. In the same way that he could smell the snow, and the same way he knew when the caravan would arrive, he could feel something in the air. A fire, in some town a day or so away. And there was a hint of fear in the air, the wild panic of a trapped animal before the slaughter."

>The wind has always spoken to Fox, but it was just instinct, wasn't it? Not a god's Blessing ... not magic. But his powers are growing, and soon, he cannot ignore it anymore: he has a gift. And he is the only one. Why the gods chose to make his homeland magically barren generations ago, he doesn't know. Why he's been chosen now is an even greater mystery. Windswept is the first book in my debut series, The Mapweaver Chronicles. Book II is halfway finished now, and cover art is already underway! It follows the story of Forric Foxglove (called Fox) and his discovery of a unique power that lives within him. Part coming-of-age story, part learning about a mysterious magical gift, all Young Adult Epic Fantasy DELIGHT :)

One of my favorite reviews so far:

>"Kaitlin Bellamy is an author to keep an eye on. Her stunning debut novel, Windswept, kept me riveted to the story of Fox, his best friend Laila, the Shavid, and other well-developed characters. I came to know and love the characters in this sprawling story. She created a world that I could see, hear, smell, and taste thanks to her descriptive writing. Hopefully Book 2 in The Mapweaver Chronicles will not be not too far away. Highly recommended!"

Amazon JUST dropped the price of my paperback this week! Now available for only $12.59 (list price $13.99) but who knows how long the sale will last?! Come see what all the fuss is about, and let me know what you think!! Once I hit 50 reviews, I'm giving away a SIGNED COPY of the hardcover!!

The Wardrobe
Duncan Glass
ebook | War/Psychological| 10,960 words | | $1.99

Reader’s opinion. (Smashwords review)

Review by: J. W. Greyson on April 15, 2018 :
Beautifully written piece of art. A simply amazing read!

Blurb
A war is fought close to the City in a faraway time. A man of the era leads his men to victory at all costs. When insanity is the natural state of existence, all that remains is the fight. No more dodgers!

When a young Lieutenant receives a cryptic order from the High Command he is fully prepared to execute it. So begins his struggle to salvage what remains of his faith in what he holds most dear. With the help of his faithful NCO Steerer he will fight to keep the smallest spark of hope alive against the overwhelming horror of the never-ending war.

A note from the author
This novella/novelette is dear to me in many ways. It’s my first work to be published and it also represents a watershed moment in my life. I hope you like it as much as I did writing it and take something from it as I did.

I love classical books and I spent most of my teenage years reading everything from Austen to Zola. The Trial and The Castle stand as two great works I read at least once every year. The absurdity, the impossibility of the worlds that they describe, yet the persistent feeling that they could be very real is something I find fascinating. I wanted ‘The Wardrobe’ to have some of that. My success is now in your hands...

I am preparing to publish my second short story. I hope your time with it will be considered well spent and I will retain you for the next bout!

Cheers

Duncan

JADE

The color of spring that lifts high my heart

the winter now passed, in due its part

I have no hold to keep you in tow

and like my favorite season, you'll come as you go

Jade is a collection of poems written during the year 2018. I began writing them in the middle of Spring, at a time in which I was quickly falling in love. As time passes, so do many of the joys we experience and so it is with love. As quickly as well fell together, we fell apart, and that theme is introduced and reintroduced throughout.

The work also contains a number of nature themes inspired by imagery on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. A fair amount is also expressed concerning the conflict of having an analytical mind, or as described therein, a wandering mind. One that chooses willingly to divest nearly too much effort into wherefore and why.

All in all, the book will take readers through many experiences I had during the year and decided to express in writing. Some of them are very personal searches and attempts at gaining understanding of my own thoughts while many others are a quick jaunt through word play and rhyme.

Please enjoy these pages as much as I have, thank you.

I'll start with what, in my opinion, you should improve

The Intro You need to bring the reader into the story more quickly. I have issues with this as well. The bit about the historic use of the fig leaf and Gertrude are not needed to do this. I would re-arrange the story to start with the birth of Anaje.

The Dreaded Mistakes when someone who had purchased my book told me they found and error, I felt awful. It happens. It is easy enough to correct, at least on Amazon. I found a couple of minor errors in the intro area and some extra spaces here and there. Don't panic, just frown, move on, and figure out how to fix it. I also find errors in professionally published books. Find and replace is your friend here.

As a very minor side-note I stay away from using precise numbers like you do when you talk about how the two fey have aged from 14 to 18. I would say that they aged from youth to adolescence, likely getting poetic. They fae like flowers and there are plenty of plant metaphors you could get into. This is a personal quibble, mind you. If you do use numbers in a block of text, use fourteen/eighteen instead of 14/18 unless you want the numbers to jump out for some reason.

Here is what I liked

The dialogue is interesting. It may turn some people off, but I doubt those people would like Fae stories regardless. Many writers have issues with their "thees and thous" and a lot fantasy Dialogue sounds forced. I like yours. It does not get in the way of the story and makes the Fae seem different without being hard to understand.

The idea that the Fae turn to dust when seen by a human is wonderful. This sets my mind to buzzing and wondering when it will come up again in the story. I really, really like this.

The Clans of the Fae are intriguing as well. I leaves me wanting to read on for more detail...

The relationship between Anaje and Garthanian, although very odd by human standards is extremely easy to understand. Despite being inhuman, their motivations and feelings are clear and follow a reasonable progression. That, like the dialogue, is tough to do.

The artwork is quite lovely.

In all I think you have a nice story and just need to shine it up a bit. Grammar and spelling can be fixed, although it seems bloody daunting at times. You have some of the harder parts, like dialogue and relationships down nicely. I read all fifteen pages, and I don't really like fairy stories at all. If you fix it up a little bit (don't get dejected) and figure out how to ex[pose the book to your target audience (people who like fairy stories/supernatural romance) it will sell. There is a lot of advice on here from some very smart people about promoting your work.

Hi! My friend and I have written our very first novel, 'Clownbound: Take Me to the Circuits'. We just put it up for pre-order today and are very very excited for its release! We've had a few early reviews and are surprised by the positive responses, so don't be afraid to knock us down a peg or two...

Tagline:'If being a clown was easy, everyone would do it'

Blurb: What name springs to mind when you hear the words: hero, athlete, and clown? That's right, Timmy Tim Tim Thompson from Yugoslavia. Born into a drastically poor and abusive family, Timmy had no choice but to fend for himself. Through a series of not so fortunate events (copyright), he found his way into Clownhood. The circus is at war one again and it is up to Timmy to help the Clowns defeat the Magicians. On his journey he meets new friends, foes and the love of his life. The question is: will this clown be able to juggle his ego, his purpose and his desire to win gold at the 1997 Circus Olympics?

Hi everyone,

I have a gay graphic novel on Amazon which I'd love for you to checkout!

AND THE EBOOK VERSION IS NOW ONLY $2.99!!

https://www.amazon.com/Over-Ran-Michael-Ekman-ebook/dp/B07TKYV3GS/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1564742295&sr=8-1

It's a story of trying to move on after a break-up when life is also happening.

The story focus on Tom and his not-so-great period of life.

He's back to dating after breaking up with the guy he thought was the love of his life, and it's not working out so great. He tries to find a new place to live where he could be alone without the whims of a roommate but finding a flat in the big city is near impossible. And if that wasn't bad enough, the last friend he got left (after everyone got married, had children and moved to the suburbs) suddenly disappeared. Everything is just the worst - until everything changes. That's right, there's a new man (at least one) shows up!

The link is for the Kindle version for $2.99, there's also a paperback option for $9.99.

It's about 100 pages of story plus more than 50 pages of bonus materials like character sketches, variant covers (I had so much fun with those) and a 6 pages alternate ending (the original idea I had for the story and everyone thought was too dark, though I like it).

Free to hit me up with comments.

Thanks,

Ran

Hello all. I've been a magician for a couple of years now, and I've been working at the 'family fun-days' and events in my area. I've been amazed by the number of Multi Level Marketing stalls I'm seeing, and I have had a number of conversations with stall holders who do not see the risks of what I thought was a well known scam. I've decided to make a little booklet that I can hand out to people in the hope of saving them the misery that can come with these get rich schemes.

In order to get it off the ground, I'd like to give anyone who sees this a free download. Here's a link to my dropbox for a PDF. I've published a collection of my poetry that includes 62 poems and my original artwork. It covers my struggle with anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I began writing it after seeking out help for my issues. My one hope is that my words can let others with similar issues, hopes, and dreams know that they aren't alone in this world.

These poems were very relieving to write. Some are based on dreams I had and one, Her Ghost, is based on a real hypnagogic hallucination. This is my first time writing and I was particularly surprised at the positive feedback that I've received from others that weren't friends or family. Hopefully, others out there can get something out of my writing. I appreciate any feedback or comments.

Hello. If anyone is interested I'm giving away copies of my book with sign up to my infrequent and unobtrusive mailing list. Copies can be claimed here.

A synopsis:

People in the Sarpsis Valley don't want anything to do with cars, planes, leaf-blowers or anything else that can't be grown from the ground or caught in the river. All those things come from where they call The Fuss, the place that long ago ruined and drove them away. But when a drought endangers the livelihood of their small reclusive community, they're driven to accepting The Fuss' help––sending a rift through the valley that threatens to tear the place apart. And while the outsiders seem to have the valley's best interests at heart, they're bound to want something in return for all their good deeds. Though the Sarpsians may not have much, what they do have are some unusual children.

Here's a nice review a person wrote for the book. A few other nice reviews can be found on amazon and goodreads.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

World travel is something many people wish for. Travel is usually expensive, with flights, accommodation and other expenses putting the experience of travel beyond the means of many would-be globetrotters.

I've written a book, Travel Free, where I teach methods to travel for free. It's possible to get free flights, sea travel, accommodations and more.

I hope with my book I can help you make your travel dreams a reality.

The book is not anti AA, it is showing that it is not the only way. We are all on a different path and some of us need other methods. I quit drinking four years ago. Drinking was a huge part of my life for decades. I still can't believe I did it. The book gives ideas that I found helpful as well as resources along with stories of my drinking history and hangover misery. The deal is UK and US Link to US deal

Gloomwalker - a dark fantasy novel of revenge.

As a boy of eleven, Kyris made a vow to kill a man. A holy man with the blessing of a sun god.

Kyris swore that he would let nothing and no one stand in his way. For eight years he trained and strove, until he was ready to seek out his quarry.

Now his hunt leads him to the great city of Vigil, seat of the Tesrin Imperium, center of the civilized world, and stronghold of his enemy. The one he seeks is powerful, able to call and command hallowed flames at will. But Kyris isn’t without a talent of his own, a dark ability unseen and unknown to all.

In the capital, games of intrigue are played among the merchant houses, slaves struggle against their masters, and the faithful preserve the Light to keep the Darkness at bay. Kyris, however, cares not for any of it. He steals from the city’s highborn to further his cause, but when a simple job goes wrong, when a single knife thrown without thinking embroils him in the schemes of the powerful, his convictions are put to the test.

Vengeance at any cost, or so he’s always told himself. Will it be harder to fulfill that promise or walk away from it?
