Maybe her change in behavior is caused by her medications (vidalta, antibiotic) interacting with each other and causing dementia-like symptoms. I know for sure that this can happen with older people. If heights are starting to get a bit more difficult for your kitty, also consider looking into a heated bed or a little pet-safe heating pad and put a soft blanket or towel over the top of it. They sell the heater elements separately so you can just put one under your regular cat bed. In any case, kitties that are jumping to high heights less are often doing so because of arthritis or similar symptoms that can be easily relieved with heat in many cases. If you offer a heated area and find your kitty hanging out in it a lot, even when it's not remotely cold otherwise, consider asking the vet about some kitty-safe pain killers as well. Best of luck!
Wow, someone else who is dealing with multiple health issues. It's a real struggle. The meds have side effects and then you need something else to control the side effect, which also has side effects. On and on it goes.
My 16 year old kidney cat had her annual visit and I mentioned she is drinking and peeing a lot. Now it appears we are going down the diabetes path. I'm wondering if this is caused by the steroid she's been taking. We'll see.

It has 0.1 oz resolution at cat weights and has DC power instead of batteries. It's much smaller than the baby scales. Cat may have to be in a box or enclosure to fit on the scale, but it has a tare function.
I like this it's convertible from steps to ramp and can be folded and put away too if necessary. Didn't know this kind of option was out there. I just made mine from scrap lumber.
