Yea mean ANC range? There are loads of bluetooth headsets that are leagues ahead of these ANC cans like N800/QC35/Momentum3/Beats etc. Having used Momentum 3 for a whole day now at work I can say they are an upgrade over M2, but in no way competes with the high end of bluetooth for sound quality. I actually prefer the sound of QC35 as the sound is closer to your ears compared to M3 which is very far away from your ears due to the padding, it creates a very wide sound stage that greatly impairs imaging.

Anyway, I hope that you love them and they suit your needs perfectly, for most who appreciate sound quality, they are still in the low end of bluetooth though, and it will not change in this generation. When you compare back to back great headphones and not just n700/xm3, it's really showing how much they lack, they are 100% suited to a casual commuter who likes the style of the headphones. They are still great headphones, just not at the price point, same as n700 or xm3

If you get the chance, test high end headphones for more than a few songs at a shop, really focus on them, play the same songs on the varying sets, you will notice a huge difference compared to xm3/n700/momentum 3. Your specific sound preference might be for very enhanced bass and less detail, and the momentum 3 would suit you fine. I'm going on in store test and use at work for a whole day, momentum 3 sounds better than xm3 without tuning, and sounds better than n700. But we are talking about comparing them to proper anc cans focused on anc. If you compare against cans that focus on sound first and add anc to make customers happy, then that's a different can of worms.

Get separate headphones and mic. That way you aren't sacrificing quality on anything just for the convenience of it being in one package. Great sound and build quality, probably has a bad mic. Great build quality and in your budget, bad sound/mic. I bought a gaming headset (333D 179.00 USD) phenomenal sound and quality mic, but the build quality and comfort is sub par. It's plastic and it feels like I'll break it if I'm too rough with it, plus after 2.5 years the mic is failing and the sound card has stopped working. Plus if the mic fails on a headset you need to replace the whole thing.

Onto specifics, if I have persuaded you on separate headphones and mic, I'd suggest the Mod mic from Antlion . As for the headphones, I am a slave to Sennheiser sound. But build quality sub 200 is plasticy, good plastic, but still plastic. I'd suggest nothing less than the 558 and nothing above the 598 for your price point (amazon has prices that better reflect how long they've been around). If you care more about heavy bass I'd suggest the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x look into each of those for what you're looking for and it's okay to let your wallet decide for you, they are all great headphones.

If you still desire an all in one the Sennheiser GAME ONE is 180 on Amazon and it is a very fantastic headset.

Just to be clear, I've only used the 558's. I believe they both use the same drivers, and I've even heard some people mention a mod that can be done to the 558's to make them sound more like 598's. Either way, the difference between the two is minimal, but I wanted to point it out simply because I haven't used the 598's personally.

I would absolutely suggest the 558's, though. My first "real" headphones were a pair of Grado's, but my 558's made me feel like I was stepping into the big leagues, despite their reasonable price (they were going for 100-150 or so when I bought mine). They offer incredible clarity, quality, and a broad soundstage as I mentioned. These are the things I judge all headphones on, so to me they are perfect for music, media, gaming, and anything else.

Now that I'm doing a little googling though, it seems that the 558's have been discontinued. You can still order them on Amazon, but they're going for $250... so I'd pass on that. I found the 598's for ~$170, which seems to be a solid deal. Also, this is entirely subjective, but I much prefer the black color scheme compared to the brown and tan I've seen before, so it's nice that this is an option at least.

In short, I'd definitely recommend the 598's. It really just boils down to your budget at this point, since you seem to be looking at anything from ~110 on the low end to ~220 or so on the high end (unless you already have a modmic).

Also lol at the bot war.

How can they be better than MM-550X? I have bought those twice over the last 4-5 years and those are pure perfection. What is there to improve?

Edit: I have just found a "new gen" of my MMX, this PXC-550. Well I know what I'll buy when my MMX goes away :-)

Edit 2: Do they have built in battery? I really enjoyed having a new charged battery ready to swap with the old one in my MMX.

So to my knowledge, there are some bad quality replacement wires with a mic for both iphone and andriod, but like i said bad quality. There is not much you can do other than buy a cable without a mic, if that is what you want. I bought this wire and it works like a charm.

hello, im happey to say that there is an option for you, today i have got my new Brainwavz Replacement Memory Foam Earpads and they are awesome!

It dose "change" the sound and if you ask me, it sound better then the normal pads, the pads are big and feel great.

The pads make those headphones sound more "open" and add more space to the sound stage. It dose make the Bass softer.

What you need is a good Bluetooth receiver, that will turn any pair of wired headphones or IEM’s into Bluetooth headphones/IEM’s. Since you’re using a decent pair of IEM’s you want something that can drive them, so your best option would be one of these Bluetooth receivers specifically made for audiophile equipment.

FiiO BTR3 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FVN14FH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_piKSCbYM45MSS

EarStudio ES100 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078H4YD2L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_imKSCbYR6VXN2

I have both and they are amazing the quality difference between wired and Bluetooth is almost indiscernible. I also use them both to drive my
IE80S IEM’s and believe me you will be surprised by the quality of these devices. They both are small and can easily be carried in a pocket.

It appears that at one point in time Sennheiser made headband replacements for the HD 598's but maybe not any longer? There are some 3rd party replacements on Amazon. Here's a link to the official one that is no longer in stock but they show some alternatives. Not sure of quality of the alternatives however. https://smile.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Replacement-Headband-Padding-Headphones/dp/B073ZKJZSG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1523300274&sr=8-2&keywords=hd+598+headband

Edit: Here's a 3rd party cover if your padding is still good, but just need something to keep it attached to the headset. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073CHJ631/ref=psdc_13880181_t2_B073ZKJZSG

I'm in need of some replacements for my ZEROs as well
(leather split open and the memory foam is exposed and falling apart).

I'm located in the United States. Where is the best place that I can order these? These are the correct ones from Amazon right? https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Cushions-SENNHEISER-HD380-Pro-Headphones/dp/B005MB8E1Y

OK, the text of my post got deleted somehow. Anyway, I bought these from Amazon about a year ago. They sound great but never fit me properly, since I have a big noggin. I figured I'd offer them up here. PM me if you're interested.

Geekria Headphone Case

This case offers solid protection and can fit the accessories for the PXC 550 as well. For me, it's perfect for commuting and travel.

I am using this one since it is from a good brand with acceptable price. The headphones mentioned is Sony MDR 7506 or MDR V6, pretty much the same headphones.

u/Oblivion776 · 2 pointsr/sennheiser

There is a Sennheiser brand one for the MB660s (exact same shape as the 550s) but from my cursory look I'm not entirely sure where to actually buy one. I have seen some recommendations for this Geekria brand one which is available from Amazon.

u/snipsrevival · 2 pointsr/sennheiser

Found them at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VW98ZKG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 for $399.95 USD with a release date of September 6.

I also have them in my cart on Amazon.ca at a price of $529.95 CAD with the same release date (Sept. 6). However, the link to this one if I click on the item in my cart does not take me anywhere.

The date of September 6 lines up with the start of IFA 2019, so this sounds like a very plausible actual release date and not just a placeholder date.

u/pylawn · 2 pointsr/sennheiser

That was just to show you the part you needed. You can then find out from that page what other headsets work with it and search for those.

u/fightinchunk · 1 pointr/sennheiser

the stock cable is absolute doo doo. The inline mic has a pretty big impedance load and I've seen posts here about the button failing. I was using the cable that came with my HD598 until I got the portable replacement cable from amazon

u/__redruM · 1 pointr/sennheiser

An adapter should have come with the cable, but if it did not, Amazon suggested this cable.

u/FreelanceNobody · 1 pointr/sennheiser

Somewhat of a humble brag that is unrelated, but I just got the Sennheiser HD 4.50 SE for a steal at $80 a week ago.

They're already back at $200 as of now on Amazon.
