It's actually surprisingly easy. You can install it with a script on top of raspbian install or simply use the Retropie image for a SD card. If your only purpose for the Raspi is retro gaming, I definitely recommend just using the retropie image.

Here is a super awesome guide. They recommend a SD Class 10 or better card.

I went with the iBuffalo controller, It's super quality for the price.

If you want a wireless option, or joysticks I recommend the 8bitdo. You can also use PS3/4 Xbox 360/One controllers as well.

As a new starter, I'd highly recommend the D&D Starter Set - Comes with a lot of what you need without over loading you with information.

I would then recommend if you want to create a character taking a look at dndbeyond who allow for creating up to 6 characters for free, gives you a tonne of helpful info and helps calculate stats. Especially helpful for leveling up.

And if you just want to chill, see how the game works and unfurls, take a look at Critical Role who have episodes from their campaigns.

It's a Xootr Mg (http://www.amazon.com/Xootr-Mg-with-Fender-Black/dp/B001LUQGYC) and cost about $270. I actually didn't like it very much... very roomy, but the performance wasn't anything special and it was very heavy and bulky.

I just returned it and instead bought a Razor A5 Lux (http://www.amazon.com/Razor-A5-Lux-Scooter/dp/B004C6BGII) for less than half the cost. I scooted it about 15 miles today all over Washington DC, and it's GREAT — much lighter and more portable than the Xootr.

The Xootrs are very classy. They're like the Rolls Royces of scooters. Razor A5s are like the Honda Civics.

Little do you know about monitors of old. 60 hz was a strain on most peoples eyes back in the day. You are applying what little information you have of LCD's to CRT's. My 19" I purchased in 2000 era had 120hz on lower resolutions and I could do 100hz on my max resolution. I bought a 21" around 2001 and I could achieve 85hz at 1600x1200

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-GDM-FW900-Widescreen-Trinitron-Monitor/dp/B00004YNSR

That was my favorite monitor from the CRT era, I loved the thing until the trinitron tube started to crap out and I had green lines and faded colors. I had a dell trinitron paired with it, but I got rid of it for a nice 24" samsung LCD. The thing seemed huge compared to it. I was pleasantly surprised how 60hz wasn't killing my eyesight.

Hey man. It really doesn't take much. :)

Just order a pack of 8" zip ties from Amazon (about $3) and some Velcro strips for $5. Just bundling your cables together goes a LONG way.

But don't worry. If you still want to be on /r/shittybattlestations even after your cables look all nice, you can just mount your hard drives by duct taping the shit out of them to your case. A shittybattlestations masterpiece!

Ooh, laptop-as-wifi-bridge! I've done that. It works okay, definitely better than nothing.

If you're expecting to make it permanent, you should probably invest in one of these freakishly useful buggers, which is way more compact than your laptop and also not your laptop. Alternatively, you can get a PCIE wifi card for your desktop, though that's a less flexible solution.

Iv really enjoyed it. Great for typing and gaming. Keys are right where they're supposed to be and the switches feel nice imo.

It's SteelSeries Kinzu V3, as someone who isn't used to hotkeys it's a perfect fit.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Steel-Kinzu-V3-Mouse-2-ways/dp/B013YRAPZ0

If you're from the US and want it in red just add MSI Edition :)

Firstly, the mouse pad really makes this look old, despite the decent peripherals. QcK+ is currently on sale and is a GREAT pad

Second, that sock..... You can get a decent foam pop filter for a few bucks on amazon.

Finally, I would put your PC under the desk, and zip tie up he cables. It’s really taking up a lot of room. The only time I think keeping the PC on the table is excusable is when the internals are really nice and viewable. That’s just my opinion, though.

I love it! I got one of these. Such a wonderful instrument.

don't underestimate the power of wall mounts.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088RIV1W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This mount is powerful as fck. It's really heavy duty and won't sag from the weight of your monitor. Also you get an HDMI and level included all for $13. This package is easily worth $40+. I personally guarantee it.

The solution to this would be to get a mouse-pad, maybe an extended pad would be your best choice, I got a 950x400mm mousepad for around £10 on amazon which is more than enough pad for my mouse and keyboard to sit on.

As an IT professional, I highly disagree. This machine, at 13 years old, shouldn't be in use and should be trashed. This looks like a work computer. A business should swap to new computers every 4-5 years.

>it's still faster than a lot of the Black Friday Specials with Atoms or Celerons and passive cooling.

No one uses Atom processors in PCs anymore. I looked into your statement.

Here's one of the cheapest Celeron PCs on Amazon; https://www.amazon.com/AK1-Windows-Processor-Computer-Ethernet/dp/B07D77W8CZ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1541530153&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=intel+celeron+desktop&psc=1

This modern Celeron processor processor is 187% faster than a Pentium D. Do you honestly think a Pentium D processor, from 13 years ago, would be better than any modern processor?

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-D-266GHz-vs-Intel-Celeron-J3455/m4781vsm200485

Edit, the Pentium D I reference is from 2014. Imagine a processor from 2005.
