Nah not really. Even at the max-recommended 2-pounds-per-week (average) weight loss, you're only eating at a reduced calorie intake, not a huge starvation diet. Do a google image search for "loose skin" if you want to see what happens when you lose weight too fast. My old roommate lost 150 pounds in 6 months, which was an average of 6.25 fat loss per week, and had like six inches of loose skin, which took his body years to properly reabsorb to look normal. So in your case:

  1. 315 - 166 = 149 pounds. So your project is to lose 149 pounds. That's a solid number that you can plan for, instead of a question mark! Same deal with your macros - they are solid numbers that you can plan for, no guesswork, no question marks.
  2. At 2 pounds a week (on average...it's a bit more like a bell curve, because you'll lose ten pounds right off the bat in water weight), that's 74.5 weeks, or about 19 months (founding up), or roughly a year and a half. That may seem like a long, loooooong time time, but let's say you're 30 now & are planning to live to say, 100 years old...that's 70 years of being in shape, feeling good, having energy, knowing how to feed your body right, having your GI tract work properly, and avoiding all of the problems that you are put at risk at from overweight (insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, diabetes type II, heart disease, IBS, hypertension, etc.).
  3. Macros are great because once you get the hang of counting your macro intake, you own that skill for life - diets imply a short-term project, where you eventually go back to your old lifestyle, which is why most people gain the weight back after doing their crash diet. With macros, you can still eat what you're eating now, just in a smarter way that yields results, so it's not like it's a huge lifestyle change...you're simply incorporating macro numbers tracking into it. If you read through my tutorial on macros, then you'll see that eating twinkies, donuts, and ice cream can still help you lose weight & get abs. It's crazy, but it's true! Science!
  4. Your task is now simple: eat 144g protein, 201g carb, and 104g fat every day. Thus your job is really meal-prep, so that you can 100% hit your targets for your protein, carbs, and fat intake every day.
  5. You don't have to change what you eat; you can still eat the foods you love, you just need to play some food tetris to figure out how to get the right macro mix into your body every 24 hours.

OK, so let's talk a little bit about Soylent & other foods now:

  6. Soylent helps because all you have to do is drink it. The macros on bottled vanilla soylent are 20g protein, 33g carbs, 21g fat. So your current macros are 144p/201c/104f (weight loss daily requirements) minus 20p/33c/21f (bottled vanilla soylent) = you now have 124p/168c/83f left. Make sense?
  7. Just to build off that idea - you can get a motorized blender bottle to level-up your Soylent with mix-ins. So you could pour soylent into the bottle, then add a scoop of protein powder to boost the protein level & a quarter cup of heavy cream to boost the fat level, blend it up, and drink it! Soylent simply makes eating more convenient...it doesn't have to be a full diet replacement, but like, if you usually run out the door in the morning without eating breakfast, that's a good time to use a meal replacement because you can chug it & be done!
  8. Continuing the idea of food tetris, you might use Soylent for breakfast & lunch, and then use the remaining macros for a monster dinner of foods you love. So your daily macros are 144p/201c/104f minus a breakfast soylent (macro numbers = 20p/33c/21f) and a lunch soylent (20p/33c/21f), which leaves you with 104p/135c/62f for the rest of the day.
  9. However, that's a lot of protein intake for one day remaining, so if you add in one scoop of protein powder (I like this kind, vanilla ice cream flavor - if you mix it with chocolate soylent, it tastes kind of like Nesquik chocolate milk!), you can reduce that number. That protein powder is 24p/3c/1f per scoop. So now a protein-enhanced soylent is 44p/36c/22f. So if you drink a protein-soylent for breakfast & a protein soylent for lunch, you now have 56p/129c/60f remaining. That could be tacos, a soda, and cookies, or a steak & potatoes, or a Whopper & fries, or whatever you want! Soylent simply helps fill up your macros with zero cooking required, that's all!

    Regarding implementation:

  10. Your gut does have to adjust to major food changes in your diet. Ever eat bean chili when you haven't had it in awhile & then get, uh, gastrointestinal distress? lol. If you're going to incorporate Soylent, start off with like, one bottle a day, in addition to all of the regular stuff you eat. Try out all of the flavors, try out the bottled kind & the powdered kind, see what you like, and then increase your intake. There are also a lot of competitors to Soylent (I personally like Sated a lot). There's also a soylent version of instant ramen called Vite-Ramen that you can simply microwave for 5 minutes & get 27p/65c/12f (note, it tastes "healthy" on its own, so I usually mix in some kind of sauce & whatnot).
  11. Actually counting macros pretty much boils down to using an app to track your intake for the day & then using a kitchen scale if you plan on cooking at home, to weight & measure the food out. MyFitnessPal is pretty good, and a lot of people use MyMacros+, which works on both iPhone & Android: https://getmymacros.com/
  12. This is why I like meal-prep...if you prepare all of your food ahead of time & calculate all of your macros ahead of time, then you're not subject to being hungry in the moment & having to make an emergency decision about what to eat & having to write down your numbers all day. Basically with meal-prep, all you have to do is EAT! It technically doesn't matter when you eat or what you eat, as long as you hit your macros for the day. I'm a hungry dude, so I eat like every 3 hours, which helps keep me full, plus if I eat a huge plate of food, I get kinda sleepy lol, which stinks if you pig out for lunch & then have to work or pay attention in class for the afternoon & you're in ZZzzz mode hahaha.

So how do you setup a meal-prep system? I have some ideas in the links below, if you're up for some reading:

>Oh, adding a fortified powder in place of a vitamin. That's, unfortunately, trickier. Certain things are more difficult to supplement around. This vitamin whey right? Vitamin D and panthothenic acid were incorrectly transcribed (one extra zero on each). You'll want more Vitamin D as well.

Correct. Yeah I wasn't too worried about D as it's easy to adjust. Thanks for checking the transcription!

>Vitamin C supplements are common enough. Vitamins D and K are frequently paired together in bone health supplements as well. This is one I've used. It comes in capsules which can be opened and added to powder if desired or simply consumed on the side.

Sounds good.

>Niacin, folate, and molybdenum are more difficult to find in targeted supplements. Fortunately I have a few ideas. First, the nutrition information in the People Chow recipe is slightly off. It was compiled from a mix of sources. I recommend the masa entry in the USDA food database. According to that your niacin level is higher than expected. Second, the things you're missing are in the vitamin whey so you may try adjusting that up while reducing the masa an equal amount. Even at 100g or so it doesn't quite make it but it takes the values close. Alternatively you could try a small dose of another vitamin on the side. Capsule multivitamins can be broken and added to powder for partial doses with the rest of your meal or taken at intervals.

Interesting. Im surprised that the nutrition info for Masa is off as it's so popular. Why hasn't he updated the recipe? Also folate supplements are common, I'll probably grab one and add it in.

>Lastly, you didn't mention it but the fiber is a bit off. I've found that People Chow responds very well to added fiber and would recommend a small fiber addition to anyone using. Ground psyllium husk in particular is popular.

Yeah I didn't mention it because it's so easy to adjust.

>I've compiled these recommendation in a recipe copy. It uses the different masa data, retranscribed vitamin whey, 20g more protein powder, and the D3/K2 capsule.

Nice, appreciate it!

>The D3/K2 is probably not all that necessary. You can synthesize D, vitamin K deficiency is so unheard of it was never discovered till someone ran an experiment on chickens. Also the vitamin whey has some. It may be optimal to have more but it will probably not hurt to skip.

I'll check on sourcing a supplement and may add it depending on cost, bottle size and ease.

The main reason I wanted to do this was because I already have the fortified whey and it's super cheap at a local store. Looks like it'll be pretty simple to compensate for its lacking areas and go from there. Moreover it dissolves easily and I dont have any issues with digestion with it, and tasted fine.

I'll check for d3/k2 and folate supplements and add them as needed and update the recipe you linked!

At first I really liked the standard pitcher, but I have come to greatly dislike it. Too many parts, too many little hard-to-reach surfaces that are impossible to clean 100%, too many leaks/spills from residue in the untwist/twist process.

A few months ago I needed to take my Soylent in to work, and I wasn't going to use the pitcher. I searched around a bit and purchased a tall 1.4L nalgene bottle off Amazon. I borrowed my roommates little wire ball (from his shaker bottle) and pushed it in.

All-in-all, it works quite well. Having a tool better than the original pitcher is far more convenient than I was expecting. However the 1.4L concentrates the Soylent a bit too much. I've gotten used to it because I'm lazy but honestly I would prefer a better solution.

I'm switching my diet soon, so I will need my nalgene for water, and I think I will buy the 2L nalgene solid white container the other guy posted:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OBYW5G

2 pieces total, the nalgene lid tightness on my 1.4L bottle is REALLY good (it's a pain sometimes lol), easy to clean, and not concentrating the solution would be much better.

And having a little shaker object in the container to break up the powder is excellent. I strongly recommend one.

u/PirateNinjaa · 2 pointsr/soylent

I wasn’t a fan of the original powder, took effort to finish a serving and I was glad when it was done, loved the bottles in comparison, but I am drinking lots of cacao powder now with bottles sitting unopened, enjoying it and almost wishing for more when I finish like with the bottles.

I like it with lots of water so I don’t have to drink additional water, but you can make it thick if you want. The shaker bottle mixes it quick and easy and a plenty smooth without overnight refrigeration like you used to have to do to get the powder to be at its best.

I find these contigo shaker bottles with the heavy ball to work better than the blender bottle with the metal whisk ball, but blender bottle works pretty well too. They sell them at Walmart too in the sports section.

I was hoping someone with better ideas and more relevant information would show up but that hasn't happened so here I go.

The product you linked is a powdered multivitamin supplement for athletes. It's probably pretty good but it's also not very cost effective. If you do any supplementation you'll want to use cheaper multivitamin pills.

Because protein powder isn't an option anything you do will look as much like a dietary plan as it will anything else. Is your goal convenience and health? How much time to you spend shopping and cooking already? With some research you could probably work out a simple meal plan that's reasonably healthy and easy to make. It all depends on what foods are available and how much nutritional data you can put together to make a balanced diet.

The easiest thing to do will probably be to take a good multivitamin and find a convenient food that can be eaten most of the time while using other food to fill in the nutritional gaps. Oatmeal or some other porridge. Beans and rice. I feel very unhelpful offering this advice but it's my best idea from what you've told me.

> weight loss

I've found lately that I get better results with 2000 calories of people chow (DIY soylent) then I get with 1500 calories of soylent and allowing myself to eat other stuff. If you can stick with a lower calorie recipe then you'll have even better results but if you're anything like me (and sounds like you are =) you may want to try that. I created a low cal version of People Chow (maybe even the one you referenced, I be faymous!) in order to have it be 3 500 calorie meals and did that for a few months but my weight loss plateaued and I even gained 2 pounds over the last 3 months because I was letting myself eat stuff at dinner and ended up exceeding 2000 calories often (and likely exceeding 3000 some days). So I'm back on mostly just people chow, 4 meals a day, and anything extra I eat I'm doing that same amount extra on the elliptical (which takes forever and is highly inefficient - 30 minutes for a stupid slice of pizza).

> accessories

You might have already seen it but peoples like you are exactly why I made http://www.thebairs.net/2014/06/mixing-up-soylent-ingredients-for-7-days-at-a-time/ I'm using roughly the same stuff /u/SparklingLimeade mentioned and much of it is stuff you find around the house except the scale that I got from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002SC3LLS/ and the cheese puffs containers I got from Sams Club.

> serving size

Here's another one for you http://www.thebairs.net/2014/07/mixing-up-a-meal-of-diy-soylent-video/ it all may seem daunting at first but it's really not

> startup costs

If you are looking at my recipe(s) then one caveat: I've looked for the least expensive per gram ingredients, that generally means buying major quantities like a $100 bag of protein. Like Sparkling said, there are smaller bags/bottles of many of the things. Hard Rhino sells a 500g bag of whey protein isolate that would last 9 days with most recipes.

One other option is that many of the more popular recipes do have people selling pre-mixed "weeks". I'm really not trying to be a shill (because I do sell my own recipe pre-mixed) but when I started out I wanted a way to see if it would work for me without all the startup costs and wish the option would have been available then. /u/axcho sells a bunch of variants on his site and I've got several permutations on mine. Both of us publish our recipes so you can make them yourself if you want though.

u/jelder · 4 pointsr/soylent

I've posted this before, but here's my routine.

Every night, I get out a 2L pitcher and a 1L Nalgene bottle. Into the pitcher goes a full back of Soylent and a pinch of salt. I add to that 600mL of water measured in the Nalgene (they are all graduated, which is super convenient). Seal the pitcher and shake vigorously for like a minute. Open up and add the final 1L. Shake again, let set in the fridge overnight. In the morning I add the oil, shake, pour myself 400mL for breakfast, 1L in a Nalgene for use throughout my workday, and then finish off the rest of the pitcher when I get home.

I've found this pattern to be ideal because it reduces the grittiness significantly. I have also been taking a probiotic mixture every morning to help reduce gas and improve overall comfort. If you opt to not get the extra pitcher, anything that holds about 2L or more will work. If you have another pitcher that doesn't seal well enough for shaking, a whisk will get the job done.

Prepared Soylent lasts about two days. Keep it refrigerated of course.

Here is the exact model pitcher Soylent is shipping in the Starter Kit. You will want to have more than one of these so you don't have to wash it every night. Unfortunately, it's actually 5 pieces and kind of a pain to wash.

If I hadn't already wound up with three of those, I'd want to get something simpler. Nalgene also makes these awesome looking 2L lab bottles:

I also have a few of these for taking my prepared Soylent to work with me. They never leak and are pretty much indestructable.

Really simple solution. If the protein intake is already adequate, just add your own fats for as much extra calories as you want. 15ml = 125ish calories. Add 1-2 servings of those to each of your shakes.

Avocado oil or Heavy cream (depending on your taste/texture preferences) is the general recc. Butter is also an option if that is more to your taste. You will have to experiment. A combination of those is also something to try, like avocado + heavy cream.

Olive oil is the less expensive option.

I hear Macadamia oil and Hemp oil are good but they also have a much stronger taste and hemp is more expensive.

I can link to best prices for bulk quantities (4-7lbs) of any of the oils if you're interested. I spent a bunch of time on this building my own DIY keto soylent.

I use these blender bottles, they divide up a day's Soylent into 4 500 cal portions which I prefer, and are easy to clean by hand:
http://www.amazon.com/BlenderBottle-Classic-Shaker-Bottle-Black/dp/B00M1VNJO0

I replaced the original 68oz. Soylent bottle with this glass pitcher, Soylent now seems to last a little longer due to a better seal, you can dump the full bag into it when you're making it unlike with the stock bottle, it too is easy to clean by hand, and there's no risk of having a leak due to overtightening:
http://www.amazon.com/Bormioli-Rocco-Frigoverre-Glass-Pitcher/dp/B00PT7239A

Lastly, consider investing in a stick blender such as this one for the best possible Soylent consistency:
http://www.amazon.com/Conair-Cuisinart-CSB-75BC-Blender-Brushed/dp/B00ARQVM5O

u/Scoxxicoccus · 1 pointr/soylent

I normally add 15-20 grams of the cheapest matcha known to man to every 2000kcal batch of Soylent. The bitter tea takes the edge off the sweetness and adds a little caffeine boost as well. As an added bonus, the green infusion changes the color of my Soylent into a close approximation of Frankenstein's skin (the creature, not the grave-robbing scientist).

I also add approximately 50 grams of pea protein to every batch. This puts me at 130 grams of protein and adds about 170 calories. I also throw in a 2 gram "pinch" of salt because I work out/sweat a lot.

I occasionally mix up a "hotshot" batch with 30 grams of red curry powder, 15 grams of crushed red peppers and two sliced, medium-sized fresh habeneros which I allow to bubble overnight in the fridge. The texture and consistency of this mixture is an acquired taste but I love it!

Having said all that, I don't mind the very occasional batch of v1.5 without any additives at all. I think the taste/texture/mouth feel have improved greatly since 1.3.

u/futur_avenir · 1 pointr/soylent

I picked up some 18oz/532mL glass bottles today. They're very similar to the Epica bottles /u/muxon uses.

Some thoughts so far:

  • The screw-on caps seem to work well.
  • The glass isn't perfect, but they feel solid.
  • The bottles are each the perfect size for a 500cal serving of Soylent 1.5.
  • /u/thapol has a good tip for an effective bottle brush.

    Here's a bottle I filled for tomorrow.

I used a blender to prep 72oz/2.1L then split into 4 bottles. This works fairly well, but it's easy to lose a little even when using a funnel. Ten cuidado.
u/charliegriefer · 1 pointr/soylent

I do two servings either in the morning or the night before. For me that's:

  • 4 scoops Soylent
  • 8 scoops unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 scoops protein powder
  • 2 cups of ice cubes

Blend it up and throw it into a thermos. These thermoses are fantastic. I had a smaller one for coffee and it kept the coffee warm for days. Sometimes I wouldn't finish what I brought, and I wouldn't have time that night to clean out the thermos. The following morning I'd clean it out and the coffee'd still be warm.

Just as effective in keeping the Soylent cold.

At night I make myself a single serving and that's it.

3 servings per day. But with the almond milk and protein powder, I'm still at around 2k calories a day.

u/itspclar · 1 pointr/soylent

I’ve purchased a blender bottle to help make sure that the powder stays mixed and doesn’t clump or sink to the bottom and has a good texture. As for taste here are some of my recipes:

Coffee powder:
Fill the empty blender bottle with water and set the metal thingy aside for now.
Add your favourite instant coffee in whatever amount the package recommends for the water you have in the bottle.
Throw in some soylent powder.
Optional: add sugar
Put the metal ball on top of the floating powder, screw the lid tight and shake.

Chocolate soylent:
Fry’s Cocoa - about 1 tabelspoon
Add Soylent and prep as you did for the coffee one.

Cinnamon:
Soylent
Cinnamon to taste, shaking vigorously as you add

Looking to try pumpkin spice variants once the fall is here. These recipes really taste terrific and don’t add anymore prep time to the powdered stuff while maintaining the overall healthy nature of soylent.

u/A-Fuel · 3 pointsr/soylent

Would people be interested in paying a few dollars more to receive a blender bottle? I find these to be the best and least messy way to take soylent on the go, always keeps it consistent and tasty.

Talking about something like this for maybe 5 dollars, and just offering it alongside the meal packs.

u/_ilovetofu_ · 5 pointsr/soylent

So if it's in a fridge and it doesn't take you more than a few hours to get to work, you do not need a thermos. I use this and it's awesome. My Soylent lasts longer than when in individual blender bottles and it is so easy to clean. Plus with 2 litres, it's easy to measure calories as 1ml is 1 calorie

u/fastertoday · 2 pointsr/soylent

Matcha Tea Powder - a little bit goes a long way, just 1-2 teaspoons per serving.

Praire Moon Syrup concentrates - I particularly like coconut, peppermint and key-lime pie. Chocolate with a little bit of the PB2 powdered peanut butter is great too. The fruity flavors aren't as good. The are not bad, just indistinguishable from each other. Marshmello and wedding-cake flavors barely affected the taste at all.

Mix both the tea and the syrups with artificial sweeteners to the taste you prefer. I use:

ez-sweetz liquid surcalose

Acesulfame Potassium (Ace-K)

With the Ace-K you have to be careful not to add too much or the taste switches from sweet to bitter. A combination of sucralose and ace-k often produces a better taste than either of them alone.

You were probably looking at listings from unauthorized resellers, which is a common mistake because Amazon does fuck-all to clarify if you're looking at the real listing or not.

You're better off bookmarking the correct page since Amazon makes it so difficult to find: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EUEIL3E/

Any other 2.0 listing you might find is an unauthorized reseller, and at the current time any listing for any Soylent product other than 2.0 is also unauthorized. They did have bars officially listed for a while, and I think they're working on Coffiest. Also, if the page doesn't say "Amazon Launchpad", you're definitely in the wrong place.

The base Amazon price and the base website price are always identical. The Soylent website offers a 5% discount for subscriptions; Amazon offers a base 5% discount for subscriptions but it rises to 15% if you have 5 or more Subscribe & Save items shipped to you in your monthly shipment. You can do this with 5 boxes of 2.0, but you have to do 5 individual subscriptions; it won't count if you do 1 subscription with a quantity of 5.

You can get the same 15% discount on the Soylent website with the 5% subscription discount + 10% coupon discount; there are permanent 10% coupon codes and occasional larger coupon codes, but they only apply to the first shipment of the subscription so you have to constantly cancel and re-subscribe. Amazon is a lot simpler, plus a lot of people have credit cards that give cash back on Amazon purchases.

I use this and its amazing. Its huge, but it fits a whole day and a couple of ice cubes easily. Cleans up real nice too

u/manlymatt83 · 2 pointsr/soylent

Sounds good, thanks!!

So is this a good start?

Just want to make sure I’m ordering the right thing.

u/sinoth · 6 pointsr/soylent

Do you understand why people don't use volume measurements, though? 1 tbsp of packed vitamin powder could easily be 2 tbsp of unpacked powder. Do you really want to risk an overdose because you scooped your ingredients out with too much force?

This is $8: http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-AWS-1KG-BLK-Signature-Digital/dp/B002SC3LLS

Just get a scale and do it properly. It isn't that difficult. Once you better understand your components and preparation method you can take shortcuts like volume measurement.

u/IcyElemental · 2 pointsr/soylent

It's not quite as simple as a multivitamin alone, but it's a good start. A good but cheap one would be these: https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Vitamins-Minerals-500-Count/dp/B002RL8FCU/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1468940301&sr=8-2&keywords=kirkland+signature+multivitamin

I'd say take 1/3 - 1/2 of a pill per day with your Joylent, and add a small pinch of salt to each meal. You may still be a little under on electrolytes, but instead of worrying about it initially, see if you experience signs of a deficiency (or ideally get bloodwork done before starting on the diet and a month or two afterwards).

u/pinky33 · 1 pointr/soylent

This. I still hand stir to start just to make sure nothing is clinging to the bottom or sides of the container. 1 minute with that running gets it pretty smooth.

u/Sentennial · 2 pointsr/soylent

I recommend tossing the pitcher they give you and buying this one: http://www.amazon.com/Nalgene-2121-0005-Wide-Mouth-Bottle-Polypropylene/dp/B003OBYW5G/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

it only has two parts, a screw cap and bottle with a very wide mouth so it's very easy to clean. It's fatter and shorter so it fits on a normal shelf in the fridge.

u/JohnnyRockets911 · 1 pointr/soylent

> I don't have to run to the store every time I get an order

No need to run to the store when you buy your fats like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MNTRVPS

Haha!

(I'm using a different keto MRP brand that doesn't include the fat/oil. I like that better so I can customize my calories, as well as use the oil in keto muffins/brownies.)

(I'm NOT suggesting you do the same; just wanted to be funny.)

u/kuppajava · 6 pointsr/soylent

What you are describing is 2 bags every 3 days, so 20 bags a month. Start out with a one time purchase of 7 bags (28 meals) and try it out, you may not like it right away, so eat it for a week. If you don't like it, you can easily sell the remaining bags for what you paid for them and just walk away. If you like it and still want to do like you describe, go with the 21 bag subscription which they call 84 meals.

If you do like it, buy this and one of these to make your life a million times easier and to make the Soylent taste better IMO.

Remember that once you mix up a bag of it, you have 3 days to finish it if it is refrigerated. I would also suggest getting a couple of 1 liter blender bottles, but that is not necessary just more convenient.

u/muxon · 2 pointsr/soylent

I use these: https://www.amazon.com/Epica-18-Oz-Glass-Beverage-Bottles/dp/B00I0YNYSI/

I usually split a pitcher into five servings (roughly 450 calories each with my add-ins). I just make sure to rinse them out thoroughly after use and they pretty much stay fresh.

u/ShippingIsMagic · 1 pointr/soylent

Just a couple other options:

  • I add crushed ice into the water that I put into the pitcher when making Soylent. It makes it nice and cold even when just made, which is nice when I forget to make it the night before.

  • I add drops of liquid Sucralose to add sweetness without calories. Very effective sweetening agent IMHO. I'd imagine they're all the same, but I use EZ Sweetz - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002MO765O/
u/mcpancakes · 1 pointr/soylent

For a scale, I just used this scale for the first time the other day and it worked very well. I think I read /u/chrisbair has and likes this one as well.

u/mmm_tacos · 3 pointsr/soylent

I'm pretty sure this is the same pitcher as I received with 1.6 order:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CYAIRG8/

$15.99 - $19.99 on Amazon (Lowest $11.84 - Apr 24, 2016)

u/Soyfoo · 4 pointsr/soylent

This is the exact cup I use:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MVMCUK8
I don't think wiping would be clean enough for me, but a few rinses get's it very clean.
Protip: put just enough water in the bottom to cover the whisk ball prior to putting the powder in.

u/4quartets · 1 pointr/soylent

I switched to Nalgene. No gaskets. Only two parts to clean, and they clean easily.

u/circlemoyer · 1 pointr/soylent

With the subscribe option, I can save 15% off the ~$60 CAD price tag, which works out to cheaper than from the Soylent website after the abysmal exchange rate we deal with right now, bringing the price to around $50, and Amazon magically doesn't tack on any tax. Throw prime into the mix, and I'm not entirely dissatisfied.

u/is_landen · 1 pointr/soylent

Original Coffiest, all three regular soylent flavours, and powder is available on Amazon Canada with subscribe and save too

u/kennufs · 2 pointsr/soylent

I do. I have been using the Takeya pitchers that Soylent sends out to new customers, I liked them so well I bought a total of 7 during the crowd-funding, so I can just throw them in the dishwasher every day. It looks like the amazon prices have started going up, but you "should" be able to get them for about $10 ea, and I've heard Costco has them in a 2 pack for $15.

I use 24oz Thermos hydration bottles when I go out, I bought mine at Walmart for about $20 ea.

Some recipes will need a blender, but I've stop using it for my current recipe. Just shake well in the Takeya, my current recipe also emulsifies really well and tends to stay that way.

u/flamethrower2 · 2 pointsr/soylent

I tried a case and did not like it.

Maybe this link will work: https://www.amazon.com/Soylent-Meal-Replacement-Drink-Original/product-reviews/B01EUEIL3E/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewpnt_rgt?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=avp_only_reviews&pageNumber=1&filterByKeyword=nectar&filterByStar=critical

Hopefully I didn't just give you my Amazon password or something.

My experience is similar - it tastes a little bit like some kind of lemon-infused detergent.

u/axcho · 2 pointsr/soylent

We used to use these for one-week batches at Custom Body Fuel. They're great.

u/thapol · 1 pointr/soylent

Given the restriction on active / electrical blenders, try a shaker bottle. That should make a pretty decent difference.

u/MelloRed · 3 pointsr/soylent

Yes, they now do. 2.0 at least, not 1.5 There's also plenty of people reselling as well. Here's their official link.

https://www.amazon.com/Soylent-Ready-Drink-Food-Bottles/dp/B01EUEIL3E?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

You can subscribe 5 times (60 bottles a month) to it to get a 15% discount.

u/DarthAutisticScrech · 3 pointsr/soylent

Takeya 2 Quart Pitcher. It came free on your first order of powder.

You'd pour an entire bag in with water and that was an entire days worth of food.

You can still buy it... but only on Amazon. Not on the Soylent site.

See this Old FAQ at the bottom

u/pyrokld · 2 pointsr/soylent

Also since you are a new subscriber, if you want to get a 15% discount check out the Subscribe and Save option from Amazon. Ordering at least 5 boxes will get you 15% off and you can always change your qty (minimum 5 at a time for 15%), cancel or push off months at-will.

I think hands-down is a Blender Bottle. They're used to mix protein shakes and can handle soylent very easily. I have several blender bottles just for soylent. Example

u/MonochromaticPanda · 1 pointr/soylent

Issue is cost and size with these.

I had seen 6 packs of glass bottles like these: https://www.amazon.com/Epica-18-Oz-Glass-Beverage-Bottles/dp/B00I0YNYSI/

Now Foods has a vitamin D+K you might want to look at:

might be able to eliminate 1 extra pill.

It's difficult to tell if you're deliberately low on calories and what your macro %'s are. Did you create your own nutrient profile and macro ratio using the diy calculator?
http://diy.soylent.me/nutrient-profiles/calculator

Yeah, that's a ton of fiber. RDA is only 14g fiber per 1000 calories.

By the above picture, it would appear they have redone the Coffiest label to be inline with the new products as well.

u/Some_Complete_Nobody · 1 pointr/soylent

Use an immersion blender ( https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CSB-75BC-Blender-Brushed-Chrome/dp/B00ARQVM5O/ ) and a big cup. No need to let it sit overnight.

Just be sure to rinse off the blender head after each use.

u/gomtuu123 · 2 pointsr/soylent

There should be two silicone O-rings: One around the inner cap and one in the groove on the underside of the outer cap. Are they both in place?

Edit: If necessary, you can buy a replacement lid and handle from Takeya for less than the price of a new pitcher (not including shipping).

u/sparefilms · 1 pointr/soylent

Try a Contigo brand shaker bottle, the interior has a rounded base.

I don't think it's an out of stock issue. According to the product page, it is "under review". Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EUEIL3E

^ This. Get yourself a couple blender bottles and never look back, batching isn't worth the effort in my opinion, unless you'll eat it all same day.

Make sure the Soylent's cold before you dump it in. This thing WILL maintain the same temp for 24+ hours regardless of where you keep it (fridge or counter).

u/NeinZedd9 · 1 pointr/soylent

In light of recent revelations, I noticed that the packaging of Soylent Drink had been changed on the shipment that I received yesterday. The Nutrition Facts side is a large sticker, not sure if it was to cover incorrect information or what.

Blender Bottle, shake the hell out of it, and then put it in the fridge overnight.

Having time to sit eliminates the chalkiness, and being very cold feels more like chocolate milk or a milkshake than a protein drink.

u/eodigsdgkjw · 2 pointsr/soylent

Blender bottle.

https://www.amazon.com/BlenderBottle-Classic-Shaker-Bottle-28-Ounce/dp/B00MVMCUK8

Legit go to any Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, etc and you can cop one of these for like $8. These are the standard protein shake blender bottles. The size is perfect and they last a long time. Easy to wash too. I've been using mine for like 5 years. It comes with a little spiral metal ball but that's only necessary if you're making a really thick shake/smoothie, which is not the case with Soylent, so you can just ignore it (it's a pain in the ass to clean).
