$3,753.93 saved, 7,507 cigs not smoked, 31 days saved.

Those stats are awesome but not even the best thing about not smoking. The freedom I have gained is the singlemost best thing about it.

For my 500 days I would like to recommend a book I am currently reading for those of you who like to read:
The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why it Matters...

First off congrats on the decision to quit that's the first step the next is to figure out your triggers and think of ways to resist. Try gum, candy, flavored toothpicks keeping your mouth occupied is important also keep your hands busy fidget spinners are becoming popular and remotely cheap. Another thing is be honest with yourself if you feel like you need a cigarette resist that feeling as much as long as you can I'm taking hours not minutes. Before you can commit to a life time you need to be able to commit to a single day so your first task is to make it through one day of not smoking. What I did was limit myself I only allowed myself so many cigarettes in a day my limit was 3 now this doesn't mean I will smoke 3 the goal was not to smoke any but if the urge got to strong I would smoke one and as time went on I found myself holding out longer and longer soon after I wouldn't finish the entire thing.

You got this in the bag! Below are some links, also I highly recommend this app called smoke free and urge you to purchase the premium version if you can buy a pack of cigarettes you can purchase this app try it out first its feee to download and it's on both iOS and android

First- definitely take it to the car wash and get it cleaned. Vacuuming out the ash really well will help. If your seats are removable, you might want to try shampooing them and see if that helps.

Second- change your air filters.

Third- I picked up one of these guys on Amazon and it worked pretty well. I had the Orange scented one, and the fragrance was STRONG for a couple of days afterwards. Like, burn-your-eyes strong. I did mine in the winter though and couldn't properly air it out afterwards because of weather so that might have been why. If your truck is really bad, you might want to do another one in a couple weeks. It really worked for mine- got the scent out of the vents and you can't even tell I ever smoked in my car now.

Ps- grats on 26 days!

Amazing that you quit meth and cocaine. Right on.
I had just about the same experience with "Easy Way" as you did, and felt like an alien because so many other people quit with it. Thanks to another redditor I found this book which was actually really helpful. Maybe you'd like it too?

i would highly recomend reading this book as you start your journey. it will give you a lot better insight into stopping then just white knuckling it... biggest advice is focus on one thing at a time. you only have enough will power to diet or stop smoking. overloading yourself will result in relapse. you are young and have plenty of time for self improvement. take small well planted steps and you will be amazed at how far you can travel. GOOD LUCK

Try a tongue scraper in stainless steel.

You would not believe the crap that came off my right after I quit. I use after I brush in the morning- don't know if it is smoking related or not. But it was almost clay-like.. it's lessoned considerably in the past month- but also read these amazon reviews! It will really help your breath!

It works way better than just brushing and mouth wash.

Also- wouldn't hurt to schedule a dentist cleaning..

Try out rescue remedy. It's a natural anti-anxiety tincture you can find on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Bach-Rescue-Remedy-20-ml/dp/B000RFTCZW) and places like Whole Foods. I have experienced anxiety ever since quitting and this is something that has really helped me. It's 100% natural and you don't need to worry about getting addicted er whatever.

they might, any health food store will have it, make sure it's food grade, it works wonders in getting rid of all the toxic build up in our bodies, it's pretty cheap and you only take 1tsp to 1tbs a day, you can buy a 10lb bag from amazon for cheap

https://www.amazon.com/Diatomaceous-Earth-Food-Grade-10/dp/B00025H2PY/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1480613693&sr=1-1&keywords=diatomaceous+earth+food+grade

it has tons of other benefits too, i found out about it from other ex smokers as well

Before I could get my weed into a vape, I used to use "Honeyrose" herbal "tobacco" to replace the tobacco in spliffs (in my country, you typically mix green with tobacco). It tastes amazing, very moist and sweet. Smells a lot better also, both during and after.

You can also buy it in cigarette form if rolling isn't a thing where you live.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Honeyrose-Special-Smoking-Mixture-50g/dp/B0013G4IH6 - Not sure why it's so expensive now, when I used it, it cost half as much as it's tobacco equivalent. Should be able to get something similar where you live.

Freedom from Nicotine by John Polito. It is available as a free pdf download at WhyQuit, http://whyquit.com/ffn/index.html , or it can be purchased in paperback or for kindle from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Nicotine-The-Journey-Home/dp/1478333022 .

Nice. Hope it is fun and useful :D

I'm actually not a huge reader... more of a listener.... but a book that comes up again and again is The power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. As you may have gathered, I kinda like the mindfulness concept (which is a component of DBT), and I believe Eckhart Tolle's book is to mindfulness what Allen Carr's book is to quitting smoking.

u/Ez-Dipps · 2 pointsr/stopsmoking

Check out this book.

http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Smoking-Stay-Stopped-Good/dp/0091917034/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320353179&sr=8-2

It worked for me for a while. I didn't do one step of it and that is where I messed up. But it was a great read and really puts how to deal with your smoking in a logical manner that accepts the cravings and doesn't try to have you battle with your own urges. I think if you did all the steps you will be smoke free.

Hope this helps.

May i recommend The Mind Illuminated. After meditating with Headspace (app) for 3 months and feeling stalled, I picked up this book and it's been revolutionary. Not taking anything way from Headspace, it's still great and got me to create the habit of daily sitting.

Quit! And Stay Quit is a very effective textbook-style version of a cognitive behavioral approach. I read a bit of it before I saw EasyWay and both were very effective.

u/batmanandrobyn · 1 pointr/stopsmoking

My therapist actually just recommended this book for me, I think it would greatly benefit you as well!

I get my patches from Amazon. Sometimes the Rite Aid in my area has the Rite Aid brand for buy 1 get 1 free which is always nice.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GU6ENQ/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1422463435&sr=1&keywords=patches

I didn't like the gum because it would leave sores in my mouth in the corners of my mouth where I stuffed it.

u/notyourdaddy9 · 1 pointr/stopsmoking

I hope someone who has actually read this chimes in but as far as I know, it’s a quit smoking book. The writer smoked for 30 years and wrote a book about how he easily quit and I see a lot of now non smokers on this sub that speak a lot about it. Here is the Amazon link.

u/SweetKri · 1 pointr/stopsmoking

Chew on these. It really satisfies that hand-to-mouth thing.

Also, just remember why you're quitting. It's easier to not have to smoke.
