i strongly suggest going over to /r/HoodedEyes. there are some good techniques there, and practice every day an eye look. I HIGHLY recommend watching this Wayne Goss tutorial on hooded eyes: the straight line technique. I think this will be especially beneficial to your eye shape.

I'd also highly recommend that you learn tightlining. That's actually a pretty simple technique to master but will make your eyes pop.

As for colors for your eyeshadow, i think you'll be most happy with a light base plus one or two darker brown colors, just enough to give the illusion of an eye lift, but nothing terribly dark to make you cringe years later after you have mastered the technique. I personally like to use a light beige base color plus another brown that is basically a contour color because that basically contours the eye in a pretty nice shape but is not noticeable.

As for tools, I was really impressed with this set as a beginner's set. The blending brush is definitely nice.

Now, as for the other stuff, your eyebrows are very nice. They're pretty neat as it is, so it's no big deal. You probably don't even need anything done with those.

As for foundation... honestly, go to sephora/nordstrom/ulta as many times as you can and get color matched. Get samples. Test at home, ask for opinions both IRL and on here, if desired. Go again, and try to get different color matchers each time. Also, avoid that stupid Sephora IQ gimmick device. If you have any redness at all, it'll match you to an incredibly dark color.

To help you answer your questions about tone... ask yourself what colors look best on you. It's a bit difficult for me to get a decent idea of your tone with one photo. But wearing different colors and seeing how your skin looks can give you a decent indication. If you have trouble figuring out what tone the clothing is, you can probably google it and see what others say.

But... going off the one photo, you look more warm.

You have really beautiful eyes, and I think that by framing them well by masking the undereye discoloration, and perfecting your brows, that your face could look killer.

The Judith August Everything Pencil Concealer in Pink Glow is the most effective way to conceal my under eye darkness in a natural way. The other colors of her concealer sticks are great at covering burst caps, so I'd recommend investing in a three pack, if your budget allows.

I'd also recommend a brow pencil with a cooler, less-warm undertone. Something taupe-ish, perhaps? I use this and really like it.

I found the BB cream you're using to make my skin appear a bit grey.

More blush, and maybe a bit of illuminating powder to give you a glow.

With your eye color, I'd say shimmery neutral colors, something like this. Then maybe some brown eyeliner and black mascara--not too dramatic and definitely wearable. And maybe blush? Your skin is a lovely color, and brightening up your cheeks a bit with blush would go well nicely.

I don't have any suggestions for pale foundations, sorry. =(

I have similar eye shape (down-tilt), under eye circles and that damn crease haha- actually it looks like we have the same bone structure which probably contributes to it all.

I've tried so many products I've lost count- but the ones that I currently use with the most success so far Etude House Under Eye Concealer and Tony Moly Cat's Wink Compact. I use the sponge tip to apply the concealer in a shorter version of a triangle than I've seen in tutorials on my under eyes (Otherwise it looks too obvious), now this is where it gets a bit strange but hear me out: any damn concealer will always settle into those creases no matter what. What I do is tilt my chin down while blending it with my finger so that I'm looking at the mirror from my eyes up, face almost parallel to the floor. Next, try not to tilt your chin up again unless you do a quick dab blending with your finger after, use the compact to pat the powder on, making sure to touch underneath your eyes to check for tackiness which will crease later, next apply foundation/bb cream all on the face and blend to the edges of your now better concealed under eyes/onto of concealer (I do both ways depending).

I find this compact (Because of its use for acne/oil control) seems to help so well in getting the sticky wetness of concealer gone and gives a slight nude finish to help the peach color become natural.

I wouldn’t say they look natural. That being said, I do think they go with the hair and makeup aesthetic you have going on here. More of an “I put effort into this” sort of thing. I think it’s the kind of makeup where I’d wonder what they look like when they go swimming. To be fair, I do that with most people who have obviously done their makeup, because I’m neurotic and weird like that.

If you want a natural brow, you’re not going to be able to exactly match your hair color. The hair color doesn’t occur in nature. Them’s the breaks. To get a more natural brow (even with the bold color...) I would recommend that you use a pencil with a firmer “lead,” feathery short strokes, and don’t press too hard. I recommend [Shiseido pencils](Shiseido Eyebrow Pencil Brown, 1 Ounce https://amazon.com/dp/B000VREQUW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NhXWBbRGFZMCC) for their rigid cores. They have a decent selection of colors, including gray.

Edit: removed extra word.

Have you tried individual lashes? I find them a million times easier to apply and they look more natural if you're not used to them. They even sell some that come in groups of 3 for speedier application: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GNH6JZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_DIe9ybHH0CP8N

Edit to add a few more notes: you may want to skip SPF the day of as any SPF can cause a white cast (AKA "flashback") in flash photography. Also, I love clump crusher but it may not last through emotional moments. Have you heard of tubing mascaras? They coat lashes in a plastic polymer that won't come off without a combo of water + rubbing. Lastly, consider a setting spray like Urban Decay All Nighter to really lock things down for the Big Day!

Good luck!!!

Your lipstick is really beautiful and it looks so good on you! However I just looked it up and found this shade (https://www.amazon.co.uk/LOreal-Paris-color-lipstick-Tendre/dp/B000OVS8EA) which doesn't seem like the correct one. Could you please help me out? Only asking because I really loved it!!!

u/butterbrezeln · 5 pointsr/sugarfreemua

I bought this one for just under $30. It has the light around the oval, and has a magnifying side. Honestly, I've never used the magnified side, but some people might find it useful, I just have trouble staring at that much detail (must clear all the pores!). I have a vanity table that I use it on and the vanity has it's own mirror, but I like how the light helps to highlight my face so I usually just use this mirror and then back up for the "big picture" in my main mirror.

I did a poor job answering your questions, but I really like having it and find it very useful because I can lean closer without smashing my hand into a mirror since it is small and the light is concentrated to my face. It didn't change how I applied makeup other than I can probably get closer to apply eyeliner than a standard mirror on the wall.

Yeah no problem! Here’s some links to the ones I use, you mostly want to look for something with a dense amount of bristles so you get an even coverage.

real techniques face brush set (I’m not sure if can use amazon but this is a good shape to use)

And another place I get brushes is BH Cosmetics, they have some of the best affordable sets and they’re super soft. (And they’re having a sale!!) https://www.bhcosmetics.com/collections/brush-sets

u/blowjobs4everyone · 4 pointsr/sugarfreemua

I have this one. I have had it for easily over 4 years. It has a magnifying side, different light settings, and a really handy outlet on it for when I need one (hair tools, a mini fan, or charging my phone). I use the mag side for my eye stuff (lashes, liner, brows) and the non-mag side for my face application. It shouldn't change how you apply makeup, though.

I life having the side panels--especially with lashes I like to make sure they line up perfectly from all angles with my natural lashes. It is nice to see different sides of your face without having to turn your head.

I do wish the mirror was slightly bigger but it is sturdy and serves its purpose. Also like that this one folds down to about 4 inches thick if I ever had to travel with it.

Second the brush suggestion!!

OP, Try Ecotools or Real Techniques for quality beginner brush sets.

This Real Techniques sponge is a great tool for putting on BB cream (or foundation) beautifully - or the Beauty Blender if you can spend a little more.

Baby shampoo or Dr. Bronners are cheap ways to clean your brushes and sponge - one bottle lasts forever.

Moisturizer: Andalou 1000 Roses Daily Shade

Primer: Didn’t use any here – I’m waiting for my Skindinavia primer to arrive so I can try it!

Foundation: L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer in fair/light warm – I haven’t found a foundation I like so I dab some of this around for a “foundation.”

Under Eye Concealer: Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer in light

Blush: NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé in Plush

Eyebrows: Elf Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette - Nude Mood I use this color. I also used a little bit of Chella Eyebrow Cream in Tantalizing Taupe.

Eyeliner: EM Cosmetics Brush Tip Illustrative Eyeliner

Mascara: L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara in waterproof black.

Lips: I did this look last night and realized looking back that I didn't use any lip products. However, I tend to just use a lightly tinted chapstick every day.

Thanks so much! It’s double extend by L’Oréal in black. I’ve tried a lot of the more expensive ones but this is my fav by far. It also doesn’t smudge ever- and actually when you take it off it looks like your eyelashes are molting, which scared me at first but is totally normal.

I highly recommend it!

Thank you. I got the flower crown on Amazon. Its really amazing Vivivalue Rose Flower Crown Boho... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072NBMX52?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I will try the soft or beige liner for bottom lash. Could you give up some ideas for lip color. I am a total noob at any makeup so would really appreciate.

u/disneyprincesslina · 63 pointsr/sugarfreemua

I would suggest this brush set:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LZ3RLPC/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1505673260&sr=8-4&keywords=makeup+brushes&dpPl=1&dpID=51fxuITRZGL&ref=plSrch

Rather than the one you've chosen. I've owned both and have gotten much more use out of the linked one than that other set. While the other is more extensive, this set has more useful brushes and is a little better quality.

Everything else looks great!

u/noys · 1 pointr/sugarfreemua

I use a clean mascara wand I salvaged from an old mascara to comb through my lashes :)

This product gets rave reviews and has a really good price/quality/quantity ratio.

GABRIELLA Womens Folding Eyebrows & Facial Razor (6 pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KU2CA82/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xwc2DbKXW71VJ

I've always been a tweezer, but lately I've been taking care of the bulk of things with one of these and then going in with tweezers to clean up a couple of stray hairs at the edges or whatever. Saves tons of time. Gillette or Schick or someone makes a version you can buy in the drugstore.

u/stargazer613 · 1 pointr/sugarfreemua

I have a similar skin color and I feel like my Nars foundation in Siberia matches better than anything else, except maybe in the summer. My next favorite is this one.

u/serotoninlove · 2 pointsr/sugarfreemua

Depending on your budget, I just stuck LED strips around an existing mirror because the lighted mirrors were way too pricey for me. I bought something like this with a power adapter and stuck it on (it has adhesive on the back). Super easy, and should be <$20.

u/uv_catastrofille · 1 pointr/sugarfreemua

Mine is a cheap set off amazon! The "Seven Essential makeup brushes" set from Lamora. I'm not sure if it's smaller than yours, but there's a few options to pick from.
