>Has anyone tried buying these drums and if so can talk about how they work, compared to the Hori drum? Could be a great alternative to importing.

Hi there! I have one of those third party Taiko Drums for the Switch and reviewed it recently, check it out, like and share if you've enjoyed the video and subscribe to the channel to stay up to date!! https://youtu.be/xt-8pd06p00

i have three drums from amazon.co.jp that i ordered with my US card. two of them are in heavy use in an elementary school classroom. they all seem great to me. it is not over $100, more like $67 including shipping. https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B07D1H7CW3/ and you can change the site to run in English using the language selector below the search button.

I have this table, it's the perfect size for sitting and playing as to keep the drum off the floor as others has suggested. (I just bring the table up onto my bed)
I've also tried placing a thin wash cloth/microfiber cloth over the drum. If does dampen the sound a bit, but only a bit. I've ended up just playing on the drum when I know no one is home. It does suck, I kinda presumed a Japanese product like this would try harder to be less obnoxiously loud with how self-conscious (in a good way) their society tends to be. But I guess that's me just being a bit presumptuous lol.

Not sure what it's like on Amazon right now but I think I got mine for about $60 usd after shipping and currency exchange.

Was $80 on the US website.

Here is the link if you want to see what it comes out to https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B07D1H7CW3/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=AN1VRQENFRJN5&psc=1

I was thinking this might work as others have mentioned using the equivalent NS adapter to connect their PS4 drums to the Switch

Keep in mind you can buy the official one directly from amazon.co.jp for ~$66 which includes shipping.

For the Hori drum, it's cheaper to import directly from Japan. My Switch drum ended up being $66 shipped from Amazon.co.jp.

Not sure about the dongle, though.

I was referring to this, before I knew that I could buy from Japan’s amazon.
Taiko no Tatsujin controller "Taiko and Stick for Nintendo Switch" Japanese ver. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1H7CW3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oHn6BbMS62KZK

Did you buy the switch or ps4 version?

u/Snackya · 1 pointr/taikonotatsujin

I think the general solution for getting a Switch Hori drum to work on PS4 is using a Magic-S adapter .

Getting the PS4 drum to work on switch requires the Magic-NS model, which is a little cheaper i guess. Doesn't make up for the quality decrease of the PS4 drums compared to the Switch one as far as i've heard though.

I also have no idea about the input lag on those things, so you might want to get some info on that first.

I recently bought a drum controller for the switch version, and ive been having trouble hitting kats with it. Any tips on how to not fuck up and miss the rim? I have this 3rd party drum by finera.

Copying from my own post:

I am interested in buying the bundle version for the Switch, however I see that on Bandai Namco's store the title is slated for release at the end of February, while on Amazon it is already available even though it costs roughly 20€ more.

My question is: Is the game going to actually be sold on BN's website at the 110€ pricepoint or should I just accept that I have to pay more and get it on Amazon? AFAIK the game came out last year here in the EU, so that release date seems just a placeholder for an out of stock item, but I could be wrong.
