Hi there :) I'm married to a Tamilian but his family speaks English so I've only picked up phrases here and there. My family speaks Cantonese and struggles with English so he's been learning Cantonese phrases. We've been trying to be more mindful of speaking to each other in our native languages and translating into English so we can both learn.

Mango Languages has Tamil lessons but it's not colloquial Tamil (aka it's more formal and I've been told no one speaks that way). There's also a book I found that's been kinda helpful -- I just haven't had the time to really focus on it.

Happy to chat more. Good luck with everything!

Amazon review is pretty bad for this one, but thank you for at least answering!

I've been looking for decent Tamil language learning resources forever. Every book I've found so far is rubbish (totally wrong pronunciation, copious mistakes, archaic formal Tamil, etc).
