Oooh nice. Well congrats. Lots of good info in r/digitalnomad (though that can be more for actively traveling remoters).
I'd encourage you to google a few articles on common pitfalls of remote work to help you avoid. And if you're doing any video conferencing get a nice webcam. I did some research and this HP webcam is about the best bang for your buck.
If you're doing work on the phone, get a nice bluetooth headset that has excellent noise cancelling, so you can take calls in coffee shops/public environments & not worry about background noise.
I use a treadmill desk at home. I found that I can walk at approximately 2.5mph without losing my typing form, but sometimes I do go a bit faster and sacrifice on some typing skills. I use an approximately 10% incline.
At first, I used some online "mph to calorie" calculators as well to track the number of calories that I was burning. The calculators told me that I would be burning roughly 365 calories per hour, which seemed pretty reasonable -- and I think this is a pretty large number.
After a while I started calculating by using heart rate and I found that the mph->cal calculator was way off -- I was burning about 1.7x what it reported. I think this is a significant calorie burn, personally; so I disagree with this part of the article.
If you're thinking about doing it, I say go for it. Pick up a cheap treadmill to start. This is the one I got ($199 delivered): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TGWUPE/
I have a Herman Miller [Aeron] (http://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/performance-work-chairs/aeron-chairs.html) and recently got a [balance ball chair] (http://www.amazon.com/Gaiam-Backless-Balance-Chair-Purple/dp/B0102UUHCI) for working from my sweetie's house. Though the latter cost an order of magnitude less than the former, I like it much better! The only caveat: it makes you use muscles that might be weak from not being used. I recommend against using it for 8 hours on day 1... Work up to it like any new "workout."
I have this one where I work and it's great:

And at home, I have this:

http://ergohuman.com/ergohuman-chair/
I like the ergohuman, but I'm already thinking of change. Maybe for a wilkhahn or a herman miller. The biggest problem is their price an availability where I live.
I saw my coworker with one of these last time I was on-site and got extremely jealous.
