Yeah, exactly that. Here is the instructions for the stand. You may have to adjust the height of the side pieces depending where you want to the lights to clip. I spray painted mine and put Christmas lights on it because I like for things to be pretty, haha. My CFL lights are 1600 lumens if I remember correctly. I want to switch to LED soon.

Edit: these are the exact lights I have, it provides measurements for the reflector and clip so you can adjust your setup as needed. I'm sure Home Depot has something similar. Lastly, I put a bread tie around the clamp part of mine. The clamps are ridiculously strong, but it gives me piece of mind if one fails or gets bumped off the PVC that I won't burn my house down, haha.

I use these in various sizes for all my tanks and have had excellent luck with them. Fairly cheap too!

NICREW ClassicLED Aquarium Light, Fish Tank Light with Extendable Brackets, White and Blue LEDs, Size 20 to 27 Inch, 11 Watts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C84SLRO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oVh4BbED88HMA

I got it as a present so unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly but I think it was from Target.

Edit: Lol! I just searched "jar" on Amazon and I found it!

Hmm. Hard to tell from a still photo, but it doesn't look like you'd need more than a ~60 gph pump.

Yeah, here you go. 66 gph, 12V. Just wire it into something like this.

> I didn’t do a full album because of all the mistakes I made building it

Frankly, that's far more educational for the rest of us than a project that goes smoothly :)

It looks like some form of recessed LED light fixture. Maybe something like this. They are available in a wide range of diameters on amazon and ebay and aren't very expensive.

I got mine on amazon. Josh's Frogs Temperate Springtail (Collembola) Culture (8 oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SZ9N32W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iF.ADb7H65DQR

I don't have experience with GoPro specifically but I really like the Rode VideoMic

Thank you! I got a couple of these terrarium kits, this bag of moss, and a set of air plants. From there, I basically just mixed and matched!

Not sure about wattage. The lichens! They are tricky. But I love them. Once you find a spot where they're growing, using Moss and other stuff from close by seems to help. Those will be the first to die under this new light source, if it does happen.
Edit:so far I've been doing 11 hour days for the last 3 days. Fingers crossed.

Have you tried aquascape equipment? There’s thin and long scissors and tongs you could hold paper towels with.

There’s better deals than that btw it’s just the first thing that popped up

Maybe using water beads would help retain the moisture for longer. They're usually used in flower vases, and are nearly invisible when submerged.

u/CatalystNZ · 2 pointsr/terrariums

Nice work, moss is the hardest imo. Keeping them moist enough, especially in a non-closed environment is tricky to say the least!

I notice you seem to be watering with a spray bottle... one thing I've found handy for avoiding water on the glass is to water with a long needled syringe...

something like this => https://www.amazon.com/Syringes-refilling-Refillable-Cartridges-Continuous/dp/B006DN11DS/ref=sr_1_49?ie=UTF8&qid=1481153534&sr=8-49&keywords=syringe

There’s too many options to choose from, I think these are my current favorite. I’d actually fill them sideways and view from the bottom. I’d make a wooden rack to stack them up sideways between the sides of the rack, and put a label on the side of the jar (not visible from bottom) to remember where it’s from.

The trick is finding a small feature item to put on top of the sand or dirt to make you remember each place.

It's from amazon, but I've see similar models in garden stores.
