I actually did this for last halloween:

  • Knife and cigarette case I found cheap at a local smoke shop ($20 for both). Cigarette case example.
  • Bought a polyblend (stretchy, not full-cotton) balaclava for ~$10 at a sporting goods store, ended up having to cut a hole for my mouth and sewing the flaps back so it looked clean, it took all of 15 minutes to do. Something like this.
  • Suit for $20 from value village. You can probably find cheap leather gloves there too, I went with cloth black ones and it looked fine though.
  • Don't forget the cigarettes, even if you don't smoke.
  • If you want to go all-out on this, you could grab an old briefcase and spraypaint it orange, or make a sapper out of a small box and some random plastic/electrical bits. There are also printable class 'masks' available on the internets if you wish to go that far.
Enjoy it! This was the first time I had really worked hard on a costume, so being recognized by people as the spy at a random halloween party was a pretty solid highlight of that month.

There's probably no substitute for just grinding and grinding tr_walkway until the spots dance in front of your eyes. Probably you should make it easy at first - level the surface and just shoot damaged Engineers running straight ahead at standard speed, maybe - until you can hit with some consistency from various angles, then begin to increase the difficulty. Unfortunately you can't make Walkway bots evade truly realistically, but it should be a while before that becomes a progress-blocker. In the case of the GL, try predamaging the bots so they will die from one direct pill to encourage careful aim - 'one shot, one kill'. I also find it helps to take your hand off the keyboard completely and just aim and shoot with the mouse while standing still. Finally, "trust your feelings, Luke". You do need to notice and make a change if you find yourself consistently making a particular error when aiming, but in the end of the day, the part of your brain that puts things into words and tells you how rubbish you are isn't the part of your brain that actually knows, and can learn, how to shoot deflection. You need to let Yappy Brain go quiet and just watch and shoot, watch and shoot.

(One other way to get fairly concentrated aiming practice without a human training partner is to go 1v1 against a tf_bot in itemtest. Use nav_generate to make bots mostly-work there, though their behaviour will still be glitchy. Lock the bot to one class, turn off respawn time, and if you're dying too much give yourself extra health using hurtme.)

Switching to something like crosshair5 might help, even for ballistic weapons like the GL and needlegun, if you haven't done that already.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a good player, but I became perceptibly less useless with the GL thanks to Walkway, and I'm looking forward to grinding Walkway some more.

That will be pretty cool. Reminds me of the avatars in Archangel-Protocol, a great sci fi book series from a while back. Lots of what is happening today had been predicted in Scifi novels. Although I recall that many had said that India and China would end up being great centers of entertainment creation and selling that online/through cable/whatever as they had tons of people that would act/write cheaply. Haven't seen that come out yet...

These look like what red scout is wearing, rolled up.

Or these

Belt

I believe these are what he is actually wearing, rolled up

Tape this to the bag

Do you have a target? He does not seem to really be wearing baseball pants, more along the lines of rolled up work pants or really look like rolled up umpire pants, these should be an easy match, roll them up into shorts like he does and voila! A perfect match! Or maybe even a pair of dickie like shorts that you can roll up a bit. You need that roll on the bottom and you need charcoal color!

OK Listen, I'm totally serious.

  1. Invest in a tablet. I know nothing in tablets, but I'm talking this kind.

  2. Start a web comic on any blog

  3. Once you've posted 10-15 comics, announce to Reddit about it.

3a. Show gratitude to me for bettering your life through free, delicious karma.

I always wonder what people thing of this set, I call it "you just wasted $300 on a console" build.

Edit: everything is bran new, you can probably get a good 100-200 off from used parts. Enjoy the build, it can run AAA title no problem but won't get any of that 4K stuff, gets pretty much any title at high-medium at 1080p 60fps or more. Maybe less on new titles like wolfEinstein

This is what I use when I'm using my laptop. It's a great mouse, cheap, has 2 buttons on it, and it such a nice size. If you've ever used one of Logitech's dedicated gaming mouses, this is about the same size. It fits well in hands and is such a good choice for the price!

The three things that helped me out most were a good frame-rate, a good mouse with the correct settings and most of all lots of practice.

The biggest "seat of the pants" (thing you can feel) difference was when I upgraded from a regular 5 button dell mouse to a "gaming" mouse that had high DPI and poll rates (G700s). Here's a short write-up I did a while back going over some of the settings I use and why (use RAW input settings for example).

With higher DPI and polling rates, my mouse movements translated to very smooth and fluid tracking on the screen. I was able to smoothly track things no matter what speed I was moving the mouse around. It was most noticeable when I would move forward and "scan" the horizon slowly for things. There was no more "stuttering" (for a lack of a better term). Everything was liquid smooth

I main medic and demo so I can really only speak to those weapons. Once I was able to track smoothly, I started learning how to "lead" my targets with projectile weapons like the grenade launcher, sticky launcher, and crusader's crossbow. When using weapons like the grenade launcher, you have to lead and aim a bit above them. With plenty of practice I started to hit more and more air-shots with my grenade launcher and long-range shots with the crusader's crossbow shots.

Another couple of things that may help aim is a good HUD and your weapon POV settings. A hud will allow you to add/remove/change various on-screen elements. HERE is a direct download to the one I currently use including what it looks like. Your weapon POV (in console: weapon_fov "xx" - I use a value of 120) allows me to see more of my screen and therefore have more information about what's going on around me.

I currently use a Logitech G502 Proteus.

I hope that helps a bit. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I've got over 6500 hours in the game with ~2300 as med and ~1800.

I know a lot of people seem to advise against headset mics, but if you want one anyway. My friend bought this a while back and the quality is pretty darn good for $25. While talking on Discord, his voice is clear with little distortion.

This is the 1050 I have
plus if you're looking to play games like tf2, csgo, h1z1, OW, or rainbow six siege this 1050 works great and would probably save you more money with it instead of the 980

This is the best I could imagine. The item it was based off of is from a film called Akira. Good luck!

u/MrGryphian · 1 pointr/tf2

Seems they've since taken it down and instead made it available for purchase. At various locations.

I haven't kept up with u/brentcopeland lately but you can credit Wes Wilson, Eric Fullerton and Brent Copeland with this masterpiece and leaving a mark on the tf2 community forever with their brilliant Control Point podcast (long since over with now)

The ASUS K55N-DB81 is an amazing bang for your buck laptop. I am using it right now, and it handles TF2 beautifallly. The processor is an APU, which means it can be easily swapped out for a newer, more powerful CPU and GPU.

I use a Senheisser HD555 and a Zalman Microphone Zm-Mic1.

I've used Steelseries/Icemat Siberias before and they were really good. I actually went through 3 pairs due to the cat eating the cord twice and the wires being pulled out once but Steelseries was gracious enough to replace two of them. When my last one broke, I decided to try the Senheisser HD555 and like it a lot more.

I've also used Logitech, Sony, Plantronics headsets/headphones in the past. They're okay. If I were on a budget, I'd just go with Steelseries Siberias.
