Ok, I've been obsessing over this recently as it's my choice of Halloween costume as well.
The pic from /u/iforgotmypen came from here but if you follow that you'll be spending just under $400. This guy made a 'replica' of the backpack and is selling it for $185, but I found this backpack on ebay which is remarkably similar. It ships from Hong Kong, so if you want it by the 31st you'll need to order quickly. On this, you'll want to hang a vertical flashlight. Here is the cheapest one I could find. Yes, it comes in black. There's a lot of discussion over the watch but if you don't want to spend $925 for a Stowa Flieger (hard core drugs indeed) then this is decent knock off. If you're planning on attending a Con of some sort, you may not want to haul around an actual brick. The coup d'état would be to have one of the promotional foam bricks they made for the release, but these are extremely rare and expensive. I found this prop brick on etsy or you can find a DIY guide online. I would recommend visiting your local Charity Shop to secure the flannel. Several different kinds have been used by others and it's so dirty in the game it's hard to tell what the original pattern was. Green with brown lining and two pockets should get you close enough. Most seasonal Halloween stores carry all the plastic guns you'll need for your arsenal. You could duct tape plastic scissors to a wiffle-ball bat if you wanted to get really creative. The guys at Volpin Props were toying with the idea of making the flamethrower but I wouldn't recommend attempting it on your own (though I love the beer can diffuser.) That and the beard and you're set ;) Would love to see the end results. Good luck!

Bought mine on Amazon (with free shipping). On amazon US the paperback version is at $13.59 by amazon. One seller sells it $5.39 but I'm not sure about the shipping. It says $27.99 but I'm living in France, so this must change with your location. Many other sellers sell used versions (in good condition) around $5.50 and $3.99 of shipping (and all sellers have very positive rate).

I am a book lover and I sometimes I can buy 20 or 30 books per month, and I regularly buy used books on amazon (more particularly architecture and painting books because the edition I want is no longer printed) and honestly 95% of time they are like brand new.

There are over 1200 reviews and its at 4.4 out of 5 stars.

I am really happy with it, the microphone is very clear and the headset is comfortable. It also recharges with the same cord that your ps3 controller charges with. They last for 6-8 hours before a recharge is needed so pretty good for extended sessions.

Like you said, it doesn't look like the greatest watch and is way overpriced for what it is. I suspect you might get a similar quality watch or even better by getting parts yourself.

If anyone is interested in doing this, I took the liberty of finding a few watches with faces that look somewhat like Joel's, especially the first which is probably perfect.

It's very nice and pretty cheap. The posters are really nice, but I don't want to tear any of them out because it's just such a nice thing to flip through lol

I wrote an Amazon Bestseller post-apoc novel called HOOD that was very strongly influenced by TLOU. The whole tone, mood and depiction of the post-apoc world is basically the same. One of the reasons TLOU is so inspirational to me is because my vision for my book (I was about half done with TLOU came out) lined up so strongly with TLOU's style, and the success and critical acclaim TLOU had only strengthened my resolve with HOOD. Secondary influences would be I Am Legend (the book) and The Road.

I actually put up a post on this subreddit 5 or so months ago when the book first came out. Now I'm a full time author and I'm 40% done with the second book. It's been kind of a whirlwind.

My non-shameless-plug recommendation would be I Am Legend

Exactly, TLOU thrived on its realistic human interactions/relations.

For what it's worth, if you're looking for something to play and like story driven or unconventional fps games, Bioshock is a great series. The Bioshock Collection for PS4 is pretty cheap and has gone on sale for $10 a few times since release (plus, Troy Baker co-stars in Infinite).

The Last of Us American Dreams is set just before Left Behind, it's not very long but it's definitely worth a read. Also The Road is awesome for the dark/melancholy atmosphere, not really the forest green; more grey, dull and bleak.

So , isn't the picture you poster just the covers of the 4 issues put together in one picture ? Is there a dedicated art cover to the complete edition ( all 4 issues ) or does it use the image on the bottom right ? I contacted one of the sellers , and they said that it was only the first edition , and that got me confused , because I see that in the description it says that it is 112 pages ( I highly doubt it that the first issue is that long ). That is why I am somewhat confused . I highly recommend The Last of Us poster collection. It comes with 40 extremely high quality posters that are absolutely amazing. They are smaller (12x16) than what you are looking for but I got frames for mine and switch them out every now and then.
