I'm currently reading The Weiser Concise Guide to Aleister Crowley on my Kindle. Seems like it fits your needs fairly well.
If you're not reading the new translation I would give it a go, much more accessible. There's also a fantastic audiobook at audible.

This is a far superior translation of Abramelin than the MacGregor-Mathers version.

It's in the first chapter of this book (which I found free elsewhere online): https://www.amazon.com/Secret-History-Hermes-Trismegistus-Hermeticism/dp/0801477492
I personally am a big fan of Israel Regardie's One Year Manual. In part because it places some focus on body work, an area where many occult users neglect (aside from some who do yoga). Don't be afraid to combine techniques too. I think between this and the Magick of Aleister Crowley previously recommended you can develop a good training regimen. Just remember to make haste slowly and give yourself plenty of time to let the techniques to sink into your mind.
I suggest you to get The Tree of Life: A Study in Magic by Israel Regardie. It covers a lot of stuff regarding philosophy of Thelema, initiations and traditions... its not very long, and for me it was very interesting read.
You may find many Thelemites are hesitant to discuss the specifics of their own interpretation regarding these aspects of the work. Perhaps, this is due to the Tunis comment that is appended to the end of the work in most editions.
As my previous response (however sarcastic) makes clear, I doubt there is any consensus among Thelemites on the question.
I think you might find Jake Stratton-Kent's The Serpent Tongue: Liber 187 tangentially relevant to your question.
You may find Fr. Achad's Liber 31 informative, and potentially helpful as you work to develop your own interpretation.
Finally, you might find it informative to review the publication history of Liber AL, and it's various formats and editions which existed during Crowley's lifetime. For this, I would recommend the first section of Robert C Stein's "The Mystery of the Letters and the Tree of Life" (ISBN: 9780933429260 circa 2012). This section is a simple, but in depth and factual listing of Liber AL's history of publication, and should provide some insight for you on this line drawn through the text, and it's publication chronology. Stein's work was a limited print, so I suggest hunting around for a copy among any local OTO body libraries, if you're on good terms (Or really, just ask nicely). When I've seen it on sale, it went for thousands. The less scrupulous may be able to dig up an unlicensed PDF somewhere online.
As I know Carl Jung's ideas are known to be compatible with magickal theory. This selection of writings from Jung is good for beginners imo because some of the selections are somewhat related to magickal philosophy:

This is fascinating, I don't really know much about Tantra especially as it relates to Thelema. There are a few texts, which I have not read but hope to pick them up at some point, that make the connection.

I started with Lon Milo DuQuette's books on Crowley:
[The Magick of Aleister Crowley: A Handbook of the Rituals of Thelema] (http://www.amazon.com/Magick-Aleister-Crowley-Handbook-Rituals-ebook/dp/B007P3T0XI/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1413728016&sr=1-1&keywords=lon+milo+duquette+crowley)
And then read them again in tandem with Crowley's works.
