I just put mine in a Micro Connectors aluminum case:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GN8BQ2K
The cutouts for the microUSB and sound ports is ever so slightly off, but they work. I can plug in earbuds and a USB cable just fine. Other than that I'm very impressed with it. Fan's quiet, it was easy to assemble and very nicely made.
I did have to swap the original heatsink for the one that comes with the case. The Asus heatsink is about a millimeter too tall.
I don't have any data to verify, but I can only imagine you would have a pretty good speed increase generally. The TB has a 1.8ghz quad core and an GB ethernet. Compared to a rpi 2 with it's 900mhz. Your OS version is more limited. But I will say, when using Debian on the TB the GUI interface is leaps and bounds quicker than even the pi3.
Just make sure you use a heatsink. I use this case [Flirc case](http://www.Flirc.com/ Raspberry Pi Case Gen2 (New Model) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07349HT26?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf) for mine and it uses the entire aluminum case as a heat sink. I really like it.
I'm a little late, but i used this one. Cooling is excellent, however the fan is a bit noisy. Fits perfectly with lots of room for the heatsink

ordered a case+fan from amazon will get here tonight. will comment how it fits tomorrow. EleDuino Raspberry Pi 3 and Raspberry Pi 2 Metal Case with Cooling Fan Black
https://www.amazon.com/Eleduino-Raspberry-Metal-Cooling-Black/dp/B012GPCLR6
Fits a little tight. Made from bent metal (steel) Fit could have been a little better. Putting in the 4 screws to hold the board down was a bit of a pain. Might try to use some set-screws and nuts if i use this case on another project.
I can see the sd card via a large notch on the bottom, and i think i can remove it without taking the case apart, but it may take some tiny fingers. There is a slot for wires from the gpio pins. A tiny screwdriver and some extra screws were included.
I had to use just 2 of the long screws to hold the fan in, the screws were just a bit too long and would not let the tinkerboard fit correctly.
The airflow seems to be in one side, around the board, then back out the back in a loop.
The fan is tiny, and quiet. No filter on the fan.
For the cost - it seems to be a solid case that can take a beating. About the only extra feature i would like, would be a led, or opening where you can see the lights on the tinkerboard to be sure its on.
I am not using wireless on my tinkerboard so no idea how this metal case affects it. The slot is near the wifi end of the board.
I am not sure how to measure temps on the tinkerboard, so cant really give any numbers for the temps. My tinkerboard just sitting bare on the desk was VERY warm today, (i was imaging 2 hard drives for several hours) So i will see if it feels any warmer later after doing some more work.
I've been reading that the MicroUSB power adapters are under-powered. Are you sure that 5v 3a is enough?
Also, here's what I ordered:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07CTHT65P
Is the heat sink big enough? If not then can you recommend one along with a case that will fit all of it?
One last question - I'm going to install Armbian. Once Armbian is installed I'm gonna install mysql, php and apache (LAMP). I may also install nextcloud. Do I need to install a specific version of this software to work with the Arm architecture?
