My favorite tool for those buggers. The small end is the best. As soon as I have that feeling and taste in my mouth I use this to pull up that flap and do a little twist and they come right out without much problems.

LOL oof, yeah you’re gonna want to get one that has a more controllable pressure. I use an older version of this one , which has an adjustable knob from 1-10. I use it on either one or two and it does just the trick. It never feels too harsh when working back there. Only for extended periods of time does it get slightly annoying, but that goes for qtips as well in my experience. It also works very well as a flossing alternative. It’s also a bit pricey tho. Hope this helps!
If you have an eye dropper around- I use one to squirt water (mixed with just a touch of mouthwash, if mint is your jam) into the crevices to loosen and move up stubborn stones. That does the trick most of time. Sometimes coughing or forcing some yawns helps too.

If you’re used to quips, just be careful poking around though, tonsils can be fairly delicate.

Set timers at night to wake up and drink water every hour (more so the first week). Make sure you keep up with taking your meds on time. Humidifier was super helpful, also I recommending buying this ice pack - I used this constantly and it helped out a lot.
