2-week update on the VFS: Still can't talk, but I have slipped up and made a few noises and they're definitely different. The surgical laryngitis means it still sounds nasty and deep (vocal cords thick and dense from inflammation), but doing a lot better. I got some of this stuff and put it in a cepacol/chloraseptic spray bottle, and it works a thousand times better than the standard phenol they usually have.

For those that are morbidly curious, here's a self-scope video from day before yesterday, day 10 (CW: inside throat things). You can just spot the laser and suture at the bottom of the cords (small black dot, and white "circle" just above it). For those that don't want to watch the video, here's an image that shows the surgical changes in the throat. Left side: day after surgery. Right side: still from video. Green line is original vocal cord opening.

Here's what it looked like at day 7, and here's what it looks like today (day 13).

On day 8 you['re supposed to have a medical professional] remove the suture, and I made a little video of that here. It didn't hurt too badly, but was extremely weird-feeling. Note that a 4 inch suture holds a 2 inch incision, due to how it's zig-zagged underneath. Good plastic surgery technique.

Facial hair is really the only thing that's killing you right now. I know electrolysis is super expensive, but you might want to look into some better ways of taking the shadow off. Orange, cream based makeup tends to work pretty well, and you can also get more effective epilators for cheap like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QILP7SK

You look beautiful! It's subtle but changes are definitely happening. Your face looks rounder and softer...I think the major changes we all crave take like three or four months, at least.

Thank you for having the courage to go on this path. I'm trans too and the closer I find myself getting sucked into transition, the more I realize that I don't have a choice. It's my destiny. What a weird destiny...it's both horrifying and uplifting. But, I know I'm bound to receive tons of love from the friends who support me. At least there is that. The hate and the alienation are scary, but there is still a lot of love.

Learning to be mindful has made it infinitely easier but I'm still petrified. I saw your post history. I've been very depressed before...seeing a therapist, going to a few meditation retreats, and reading the books of this guy have solved so many of my problems.

Anyways, good luck :)

You are so pretty though! You have an androgynous look (like many models), so you will likely be gendered in the way you present. Try putting some eyeliner on your upper eyelids, wearing a halter dress like this and ballet flats like these, and then try to pick one body part that you like. Maybe those gorgeous eyes? You're lovely, and it can get better!

Androgynous female! (I don't hug box, btw) Your eyebrows or your hair? If it's the former, I'd advice to put beauty oil on them, like Castor oil. You can also put them on your eyelashes--it's suppose to promote hair growth and keep hair from falling so easily. There are other oils by that same brand which are great as well (avocado oil).

Much as I hate to admit, I just really lucked out on the colour. They're cheap, so I got a few different shades that I thought matched and one was perfect.
I got them here on Amazon!
They cover really well and I'm constantly met by astonishment when I just take them out. No one realises they're fake until they're in my hand.
They can hurt after a bit, but so long as they catch enough hair atop your head, they're super nice. I keep them in all day with no problems! Good luck! <3

I honestly think in this picture at least you look very feminine now. My shoulders aren’t super thick, but I find that wearing dresses with a tighter fitting top and a flared bottom with a belt helps balance out my figure. Seems superficial, but wearing a boxy dress definitely makes you feel more boxy.

A lot of what I wear falls into this category

A: 5%. I use this brand because it's super cheap ($50/year): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DTPYGHQ

A: I take a 1000 mcg (1 mg) capsule once or twice / day. I think the required daily value is something like 30-40 mcg, so it's definitely overkill lol.

Unless you're experiencing unwanted side effects I'd stick with blockers. It's pretty expensive to suppress T with just E. And high E-doses in the early stages may impede breast growth (I cannot recall the reference right now though).

I've been using different retinol creams. Started off with weak ones such as Neostrata and Neutrogena, followed by stronger ones like Regenacalm. Will probably move on to prescription tretinoins which are even more effective (got some old deep acne scars that I hope they will fix).

> Yeah, being around the 9 months mark and not seeing much changes is a little demoralising but like people here have been saying on here, the effects of HRT can be seen, even into beyond 1 year HRT mark.

Exactly!

Since so many people are requesting it! I'm posting the link here for any future people that want the hair!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HNN1CGC/ref=mp_s_a_1_7_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1488216221&sr=8-7&keywords=k%27ryssma

It's really affordable and nice though it is synthetic and a lace front only. It's super long too so expect some tangling! I wouldn't wear it as an everyday wig since it is insanely long but you can always cut it to your liking!!

Also check out other wigs by the brand! They have good stuff! And NO THIS IS NOT SPONSERED! People asked about my hair so I'm letting y'all know!

The next step is corsets obviously. But I'm not that hardcore yet lol

I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon. This is the one I have and I'm quite happy with the quality. HSI Professional Ceramic Tourmaline Ionic Flat Iron, with Travel Size Argan Oil Leave-in Hair Treatment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MA0QY2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YSeqxbW9JKD0H

I like this sports bra because the straps are thin and flat, easily concealed under a form fitting tshirt.
