Thank you so much, this information is very clear, and I now understand why there is a preference over the other, the triop kit I ordered has no brand name from what I can see. It's the first result for me on amazon here in canada.( https://www.amazon.ca/Grow-Your-Own-Triops-Dinosaur/dp/B000BXHP86/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=triops&qid=1568781237&s=gateway&sr=8-2 )

I used a mix, 70% distilled and 30% spring water, 7 hatched 3 days ago and are doing well from what I can tell.

I'll start doing the water changes with the water treatment chemicals I use on my aquariums from this point.

Again, thank you for such a clear answer and reasoning for it!

I use air powered sponge filters so I can adjust flow by adjusting the airflow. Something like this with an inline valve in the airline. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GOFPX9I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_exnXAbHNCKM46

As far as slowing down an integral or hob filter you can either put some fine foam on the inlet of a hob with something like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LLW1VJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hznXAbDQ8N25Q

Fine sponge does a great job of restricting flow.

Honestly, I keep plants and a sponge filter. I do a 10% water change once a month. Lots of people will say that's not enough or often enough but it works for me.

I have a cheap ~1 gallon tank that I use. Hatch them with like 10% I'm there and add water as they grow. [Like this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0168CDNZ2/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1495240485&sr=8-2&keywords=1+gallon+fish+tank)

I'm a fan of https://www.amazon.com/TOYOPS-TRIOPTICA-Ghost-Triops-Kit/dp/B0189XW2I2/

Comes with eggs in sand, baby food, adult food, and a pipette. 6$

Your pet store is pricey. I would try Amazon. I can't attest as to whether [this] (https://smile.amazon.com/Aqueon-Shrimp-Food-Pellets-2-Ounce/dp/B004HSOTZI) brand is specifically ideal for Triops, it'll probably work fine, but just using it as an example, it's $4.08 for 184g and you don't have to worry about the risks of buying from bulk eBay sellers.

Are you using a sponge filter like this one? ‘Cause I had a similar problem with them creating too much current. I found that if you remove the little right angled piece on the outlet so it just bubbles upwards then it solved the problem for me. I have one in a really tiny 20x20x20cm tank and it doesn’t cause enough current to disturb them

This batch of triops are all from the "gigantic" kit from Amazon: TOYOPS TRIOPTICA - Gigantic Triops Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0189XPUB8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_4F4yzbDMRMCM6

Followed the included instructions. Always kept crushed carrot in the hatching bowl, and fed baby food once a day.

Moved them into the bigger tank once they looked big enough.

Here is my tank as of this morning.
