I echo /u/rexscientiarum. At certain times of the year and day I will have to move myself on the river to have any chance of catching fish because the temperatures change so drastically from day to day and even within the day. I'll see it go up 10 degrees with the fish turning off consistently at the same temperature. Once it gets warm I have to move below waterfalls or stay in very well shaded pocket water. This advice is entirely dependent on your situation.

If you're in a highly variable environment like me then a pocket infrared thermometer will be invaluable to staying on top of the data

What about this guy? A fishing vest that doubles as a co2 PFD. doubled with a lumbar pack and it could be a pretty good matchup.

I backpack, so I never want to spend a lot on a rod. If you are OK buying at the lower end of things THESE Okumas work pretty well for me

I'm headed out for a two week bike tour through southern Wisconsin and plan on hitting a few creeks, rivers, and ponds along the way. From the DNR site it looks like mostly Brown, Brook, and Rainbow are in these areas.

Learn to read water. It's the most critical, fundamental skill in trout fishing. If you don't know how to find trout, you won't catch them. My favorite book on the topic; there is also tons of solid free material online. https://www.amazon.com/Reading-Trout-Water-Dave-Hughes/dp/081173644X

This rod works well for me, and closes up real nice. It's a cheap ultralight, and I paired it with a Shimano Sierra.

Nope. If its the finger trigger youre after go with a quick fire.

I swear by my quick fire. One hand casting is the bomb when treking up white water.

The Spirex is a good reel with quick fire, I dont like the double grip tho.

I bought this one from an Ollie's (discount store) in Tennessee. It is all that I know of. Hope this helps. Fly Patterns by Fishing Guides: 200 Flies That Really Work https://www.amazon.com/dp/0764165631/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_u9bBzbB3VJCSR

I use 2x3" baggies. Ziploc style. I can fit lures your size and larger. I use 2x2" baggies in my ultra light box, 2x3" for my other varied sizes.

They stack in a bundle the hooks don't catch and you can thumb through them quickly. I usually put 3-4 I want to try in my breast pocket.

Another thing I use 2x2" bags for is pre-tied leaders with a swivel and hook tied. Saves loads of time when I fish snaggy streams.

The East/West/Main Delaware around Hancock is fabulous water. Getting access can be tricky if you don't know where the public spots are, so get this book and it will put you on the fish.

See if they have these. Got my largest brown on one.
