There are a few things you can do. Firstly, finding an S-video cable will provide you with the cheapest and easiest visual upgrade. The linked version is the most common, but there are better versions available. It's said that a cable with just S-video and no yellow composite output will provide a better picture than a combo cable, but in my opinion, the step up from composite to S-video is far more noticeable than the solo S-video upgrade. Should you want one though, the best one on the market seems to be the one Monster released. The downside here is that S-video is becoming increasingly dated, and many new HDTVs don't have them. Make sure to check and see if yours has an S-video input first!
If you want to go even deeper down this rabbit hole, there is a community dedicated to getting the best visuals out of retro devices, notably the wonderful people at www.retrorgb.com. You'll find a lot of great info there, and in regards to the n64, it sounds like certain colored models were more apt for enhanced modding than the original charcoal version. Most of their recommendations center around displaying on old CRTs though, so if you really want to display on an HDTV, you'll need to really drop some cash.
Specifically, you'd need this beast of an upscaler. you'll see info about this thing on the RetroRGB site, but basically what it does is works solely to convert and upscale the SD output of the older consoles into pixel perfect HD images, with as little input lag as possible. It's not cheap, but many people swear by this device.
Last but not least, you could simply play the waiting game. There will inevitably be a successor to the Retron 5 that plays n64 games in upscaled HD the way the current iteration does. And while you wait, the GameCube, virtual console, and especially the 3ds version of OOT all have improved stability and performance overall.
Hope this is helpful!
assuming you have a Windows computer, you could go get Project 64 and the rom, the Darkman controller plugin(at least with my USB adapter for real N64 controllers, that's the only one I found that worked properly), as well as a better graphics plugin, such as Glide 64, and a USB N64 controller. that's the cheapest and most true to the original way to play an N64 game, and I also think it's the easiest personally.
the Nintendo 64 is very easy to emulate. you also have Mupen 64 Plus on Linux, and Mupen 64 Plus AE for Android. and I'm sure Mac OS has an emulator, too.
there's aactually plenty of usb controllers looking like nintendo controllers for example: https://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-iBuffalo-Classic-Gamepad-BSGP815GY/dp/B06XWD8QQJ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8
pc emulation is technically illegal, but so is modding an existing console to play old games (also emulation) so you are not going to find an officially supported tutorial or set of peripherals to help you. it's relatively easy to find what you need with some good googling
"Remake! Remake! Remake! Remake!" Hey, I get it, Retro is in. But enough with the remakes already! If you want to replay an old game, then do so! There are a lot of options and it seems like all you "remake" kids are completely unaware they exist.
Get an original SNES. Get a SNES clone. Get a handheld SNES clone. Get yourself an emulator like ZSNES or SNES9x, which are available on pretty much every platform you can imagine.
But please, enough with remakes. I want some new original games.
Ty ! i was gonna buy this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AD478L6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
but hey i already have an xbox one controller which is great. Thanks again !
There's a cool comic style one I had when younger here:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past https://www.amazon.com/dp/1421575418/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SlD.BbNX93WPE
It's basically the plot of A Link to the Past, with some extra bits in it that aren't in the game. Just a fun read. The Super Mario one that Amazon is suggesting for me to buy also was one I remember being cool too.

Looks to me like it dipped pretty similarly on Amazon.
The manga adaptations of the games offers a little more detail for the storylines. It's probably not what you're looking for, but I've read a few of these and enjoyed them alot....
Sounds like the relevant titles for you are:
If you don't have a Wii, that means you'd now be able to play Skyward Sword as well, and the non-HD version of Twilight Princess.
It's as low as $222 on Amazon for a used (in "good" condition) Wii U console. If that sounds worth it to you go right ahead.
Personally I'm going to hold out and see what they announce in regards to the NX. If they're launching a new console that will also support Zelda U and the HD remakes, then no way am I splurging money on a dead console. Though, from what was said back in March, it sounds like the NX, the 3DS, and the Wii U will coexist.
If you have an Android phone, grab yourself one of these (plus the clip if you like), best purchase I've made in recent memory. Been replaying LTTP on the go when I have a spare moment.
Sounds like you'd be interested in this.
Good news, you don't even need to wait

Didn't Nintendo just release that book?...
