When I got engaged a friend gifted me this "Bride To Be" book: https://www.amazon.com/Bride-Be-Book-Memories-Proposal/dp/0307887987/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485973215&sr=8-1&keywords=Bride+to+be+book

I thought it was lovely and sweet, so I gifted one to my friend who got engaged recently!

It's a book with fill in prompts meant to be filled out throughout wedding planning so you can remember everything when looking back! Kind of like a scrap book, but with more writing!

I also like to gift ring holders like this one because you can never have too many ring holders: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Co-Op-Ceramic-Rabbit-Holder/dp/B00IMJB8JI/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1485973338&sr=8-14&keywords=ring+holder

Have it in your backyard or a friends do NOT pay for a venue. Rent some chairs, they usually go from 1-2.50 a chair. Shop at Big Lots and Costco for drinks and supplies. Potluck the dinner, rent your gown and tux. Check out offbeat bride for some cute ideas and DIY crafts. I am making paper bag lanterns, found a cheap archway trellis and am asking my friends to do photos and help with everything. Assign each task to someone, tell them it can be their wedding present. Don't take it all on yourself and remember this is supposed to be a fun memorable day, do not let stress or money get to you! Congratulations and I hope this helped!!

I'm currently reading Samantha Ellis's ["How to Be a Heroine"] (https://www.amazon.com/How-Be-Heroine-Learned-Reading/dp/1101872098) and loving it! It's a celebration of reading and growing up and being a strong woman. She talks a lot about heroines who choose loving, fun relationships and have inspired her.

Try books!

I haven't read this one, but it looks promising: The Wedding Officiant's Guide: How to Write and Conduct a Perfect Ceremony.

I bought this one because FH & I are writing our own ceremony for our aunt to officiate and it's been really helpful so far: The Wedding Ceremony Planner: The Essential Guide to the Most Important Part of Your Wedding Day. Head's up, she does recommend at the beginning that you don't have non-pro officiants, but we just disregarded that. There's tons of details in there about planning a ceremony I had never thought of, and a ton of ceremony examples.

EDIT: Oh shit just realized you're 48 hours out from the wedding??? You can read those in browser or on a Kindle if you have one... good luck!

Hey! 34H chiming in! This bra has a million sizes (including yours!) and I absolutely love it! Of course its a personal pref thing, but just in case you need something with good value and good quality-- http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Tango-Balconette-3251/dp/B002MAPJCA :)

Has she hinted at anything she would like? One of my friends offhandedly mentioned loving her wedding bouquet and wanting to get an artificial replica made; I commissioned a watercolor painting of her bouquet from etsy. She absolutely loved it. Maybe a painting based off one of their wedding photos?

Otherwise, when you say creative, do you mean crafty? Do they like building things? I've been eyeing the LEGO Star Wars kits for awhile now (those things are pricey!), maybe get one of those along with custom LEGO figures based off her & her husband? Or how about a 3D doodler pen? Or a cute robot buddy, or a drone/quadcopter (they were all the rage last year ish, we got a pretty high end one as a off-registry wedding gift).

Yes! I bought a book that seems to be pretty amazing so far: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00BO4GTG0 but there are plenty of awesome tutorials online:
http://www.marthastewart.com/266346/paper-roses
http://greenweddingshoes.com/diy-giant-paper-rose-flower/ - This uses the Martha Stewart pattern to create big roses. These are the ones I'm going to use as decorations for my wedding.

I recommend going on pinterest and entering in paper roses or paper flowers. You'll get tons of diy tutorials. Also I got crepe paper on ebay from the UK for $8 for 500 sheets in different colors. With shipping about $15 and then I also got a bunch of paper flower making tools on amazon for very cheap.

Thank you all for helping!!
This is the crown I am trying to match it to:

Does this necklace seem like a better fit?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074Q6WQ94/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nxm1Cb6A8407N
In colors ‘blue2’ or ‘pink2’?

My main look is with a simple strand of pearls that is well suited to this dress and it looks lovely. This is for photographs only!

Nora Roberts has a great series of books about 4 childhood best friends who run an all-in-one wedding business together. In each of the 4 books, the girls fall in love. It's the Bride Quartet series:

Vision in White
Bed of Roses
Savor the Moment
Happily Ever After

This is really cute! Maybe if you market them as "wedding memorabilia" instead of wedding gifts? There are a LOT of couples who love these things and that way you would have a better chance of the recipient being one of those couples!

I have no idea how hard these are to make or if a larger size is doable, but maybe you could make a shadow box as well? I know many brides want to assemble a shadow box of their bouquet and invitations and whatnot. A personalized shadow box could be a hit! OR what about a smaller version that could go inside a shadowbox?

Or- have you seen those guest book alternatives where the guests sign a heart and drop it in a box? I wonder if this could be made into a variation somehow

Disclaimer: I am not a person who collects personalized things, so I could be way off base. I am also not crafty like this whatsoever and have no idea if anything I just suggested would sound remotely feasible or desirable to a reasonable person

We're not doing a camp wedding (although we looked into it). But can I come?!! All this sounds awesome!

For the pathway lights you could get solar lights and not have to worry about running power.

Flashlights is a great idea. Or bug spray. Maybe you can provide a packing list?

I think beer bottles might be easier if you have multiple drinking locations. It also offers a little more variety (esp. if you have craft beer snobs).

And I LOVE the dueling pianos idea. I didn't know you could get those folks to come onsite! Do they bring their own pianos?

Edit: donuts > cake - especially if you were to get one of those onsite donut makers who makes them hot and fresh.

My fiancé actually has hyperhydrosis, so he sweats a LOT, and was really unhappy thinking about sweating at the wedding. Anyway, for the last month he's been using/testing out a roll on deodorant type thing called Driclor. It has to be used right when he get's out of the shower for it to work, and he says that it stings the first two hours-ish after applying, but it stops him from sweating for about 24 hours. I would definitely test it out before hand, but it may be worth a shot. Good luck!

I went with this for a couple different reasons. link to amazon

  • It has a longer handle for easier use.
  • It's a good brand with what seem to be good reviews
  • It doesn't break the bank.

Paired with a shave kit it was a great, practical gift.
