If you burn a candle the neigbor will now smell the candle and the weed. The carbon filter will work prefect. You don't have to run it 24/7. Just when your smoking and maybe 30 minutes afterward. Hey, there's probably a lot more experienced than me! But what I use is:

I have a grinder which I bought from a market stall, I'm from the UK so I paid £2 only. (It's probably about the size of a quarter, I'm guessing, as it's only small.
I use RAW papers (the original ones) or Big Blue Rizla brand.
I buy a little booklet of card which I use as filters/roach
As for weed, for one person, Id break up about a bud roughly the size a large penny, and fill the grinder until it's roughly to the top (as it's only a small grinder it doesn't make it too much)
I roll my joints as a cone.

One of the best tips I had was to buy some tobacco, and some small papers and try rolling some roll up cigarettes, I practice a couple times and eventually got it!

I’m shocked no one has yet recommended a pollen box to you yet. Frankly, the screen in most grinders aren’t fine enough to only capture the pollen or kief but if you run your nugs through a pollen box and then run your ground up weed through it you’ll collect kief relatively quickly and you won’t have plant matter. I’ve personally got the green goddess pollen box and LOVE it kief has gone from something sacred and a rarity to being on just about every bowl.

I highly recommend 420 Cleaner; it's effective and efficient. You'll most likely find it at your local headshop, but if not you can get it on Amazon.
If you're a baller on a budget, rubbing alcohol (preferably 99%), salt, a couple ziplocks (to shake it around), and few pipe cleaners will suffice.

For anyone interested, they also make a "710 Cleaner" (OIL upside-down, I recently learned), which is made for oil rigs and/or any other apparatus used to hit concentrates.

start small. Get like 1g at first, see what the price is. Invest in a grinder, specifically one with a crystal catcher. I like This one since it is quite large and has a nice crystal catcher. Get some rolling papers as well or a pipe. Pipe will be easier than rolling a joint, but get a metal filter screen. Don't want to get ash in your mouth. Smoke somewhere that you aren't gonna get caught, and use your head when it comes to the amount you are gonna smoke. If you start to feel like you're gonna have a bad time, take some deep breaths and just relax. It's all in your head

I got a pollen press on amazon! It’s awesome and hilariously low-tech. It’s effectively a tube with metal dowels in there. You just unscrew one end, pull out a dowel, pour kief in, our the dowel back, then the pressure is generated when you screw the end back in. Apply some heat and it bonds it all together!
