I use a Sony SBH20 with my Lumia 925 because I can use my own earphones with them instead of the stock ones and its clip rotates so you can wear it any way you like.

This one is a good option as it lets you give commands to Cortana from the handsfree itself. From Nokia, you can try Nokia BH-121 but that will not have a rotating clip which comes in handy.

Plantronics Backbeat Go 2 is also a very good option but I don't know what kind of audio you like. Heavy on base or more Mids?

You should also have a look at this BlueAnt handsfree. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009F4XM48/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-2&pf_rd_r=1B437RAY3FZBF4ZRZMKY&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1970567742&pf_rd_i=desktop

It has Bluetooth AptX support which is something Microsoft is going to provide in all compatible Lumia devices with Lumia Denim update. AptX gives very good quality.

Stay away from Jabra Street 2/Jabra Play. They have audio skip issue.
Stay away from Nokia BH-221. Its OLED dims away within 2 months and then nothing is visible on the screen.

I spent days trying to figure out which case is best, buying a couple to try them out, and

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GI2O4KQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

is the best case. I have it. It fits very, very tight (adding no bulk at all), it protects the screen on a face drop (because it has a lip), it feels good in the hand, and it even has a lip to protect the camera lens. It's also incredibly cheap, so even if you don't like it, you're only out 10 bucks.

The pictures don't do it justice. Trust me, give it a try. It's definitely the one you're looking for.

It works great. When I get a text my music pauses and it asks me if I want the text read or ignore. I don't have to press the Bluetooth button or the phone. It's completely hands free. After it reads it to me it asks if I want to respond. If I say yes then it waits for my message then it shows me the message and asks if I want to retry or send. AFAIK WP is the only one that is completely hands free for this. iOS and Android require you to press the button. You never have to touch the phone or the Bluetooth button when someone texts you. If you want to send a text you just press and hold the button for a few seconds then voice control kicks in. You can say who to send it to and what the message is by voice alone. I love it.

Edit: This is what I have.

3.Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Lumia-Unlocked-Windows-Phone/dp/B00CKUBLFQ

Ebay:http://m.ebay.com/itm/271591600830?nav=SEARCH

But why do you need it to be unlocked if its just a music player? If you don't need it unlocked, this is cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E45043A/ref=pd_aw_sbs_3?pi=AC_SY230_QL60

4.Yes

5.Yes, but its easier By connecting the phone to the computer via USB and copying/pasting files on file explorer.

Ps. If you do end up getting one, I would recommend the app MUSIC+ (http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=96c1fcdd-3593-40d1-93c5-26e0448e5fdc) to stream, download, and save to stock music app music for free.

I personally prefer Straight Talk over Cricket, which is $45 per month ($42.50 if you do auto-payments), and I love it. They have a really awesome Bring Your Own Phone program, where all you have to do is buy a Straight Talk SIM to make any SIM phone work. My current set-up is the Lumia 520, which is only $50 on Amazon, plus a $7 micro-SIM from Walmart's website. Asides a small tweak to the APN settings, your phone is pretty much ready to use out of the box and everything.

My only complaint with Straight Talk is that their customer service is kinda of annoying to deal with, and it's not very easy to find a Walmart with a Straight Talk rep anymore that can help you.

I'd recommend getting a phone mount with a tripod screw hole so you can use any tripod. I have the Joby GripTight mount and though it is more expensive than some of the other offerings it is about the only one I could find that would work for the Lumia 925 (it straddles the lock button and opens wide enough - a lot of the cheaper options grip the phone in the middle, which would hit the lock button, or only open wide enough for the smaller iPhone). It grips the phone securely and feels like a quality item that justifies the higher price.

As for tripod recommendations, the Velbon DF-61 is very good value for money though being a full-size tripod may be a bit on the large size to carry with you on holiday. I have heard good things about the GorillaPod (and that particular item seems to come with the GripTight mount mentioned earlier) though have not used it myself.

u/gregb321 · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

I have a 925, and these work pretty well. The bass is good (compared to the crappy ones I had previously) and they're pretty comfortable. The button will pause / play, answer calls, and people seem to think mic quality is good. Check this out on AMZN:

u/bschwind · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

Yeah, $49 is still great when you think about the actual hardware you're getting. A quad core CPU with GPS, a camera, accelerometer, etc. Technology these days is amazing and amazingly cheap.

To be clear though, I could buy this guy and not have to worry about ever activating it? I just want to be able to deploy apps to it and test them, that's really it.

Lumia 635 AT&T branded, $48.99 on amazon

It's a pretty low-end device, but it should give you a good idea about whether or not you'll like windows phone. As an added bonus, this particular model supports the Windows 10 technical preview. It's not much different than wp8.1 for now, but if that's your sort of thing, it's there.

u/bgladden · 0 pointsr/windowsphone

These are an amazing deal. They're comfortable, sound quality is decent (I'm more of a podcast listener, so to me the sound quality is pretty good), durable, and the battery life on them is great.

If I break 'em or lose 'em, I'll buy another pair.

u/Hug_A_Snake · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I currently have a Nokia 520 (my second one) on AT&T GoPhone and it's on it's last legs. I'm looking for a new Windows phone that is in that same budget bracket (<$60) as the 520. I love the 520, but with WP8 loosing support I'd like something that can run WP10. Might just get another 520 for $45 and keep the old one for parts if I can't find a newer WP.

Any ideas of a cheap WP (not necessarily nokia) out there?

u/awescellent · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I wanted to get the Nillkin but it wasn't available on Amazon with prime shipping so I tried the Omoton tempered glass protector on there instead. I've had it on for a week so far and no bubbles at all. The fit is nice. I like that the whole corner isn't cut out like on the Nillkin so there's more coverage. My only criticism of the Omoton is that it attracts fingerprints and can look cloudy. Costs around $8 for a 2 pack and I'm happy with it.

Yes, I actually have good hearing and as I said good headphones.

So I can tell the difference between a low end .mp3 file compared to my FLAC/WMA rips.

edit, FYI, I can't carry my desktop every where with me. As I do in fact leave my home on a daily basis. When I'm out in a car trip or taking one of my several mile long bike rides I use a pair of Koss KSC75 Headphones which are far better that most ear buds. My normal use cans are a pair of Monoprice Noise Canceling headphones.

Eventually I'll get a pair of Grados headphones along side either a Fiio X3 or Pono player, but not until my wallet says its ok to. Which is why I use my phone to play music until then.

u/dradam168 · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

Someone can correct me, but I'm pretty sure you can pick up a new one from Amazon for like $60. (I can't quite tell if that requires paying for ATT GoPhone service for any length of time.)

I've been considering grabbing one to replace my iPod Touch.

I have a 635, you will probably just need to get a new SIM from StraightTalk and it should work fine. I got mine from Amazon....currently a much better price there as well. I should also mention I bought the exact phone I linked to and got a SIM starter kit from StraightTalk and it works great.

u/mcyang · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I have tried several wireless charging pads for L950XL. The best one I finally settled with is:
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Charger-Charging-Adapter-Enabled/dp/B010B6PSMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452804338&sr=8-1&keywords=choetech+iron

It looks great and very functional with its stand.

u/5430FeetAboveReality · 7 pointsr/windowsphone

I've successfully used a SanDisk 64GB micoSD card in my 521 running 8.1.

I ordered a SanDisk 128GB card from Amazon which should arrive soon. I'll post back if it works. I'm hoping it will work in my Symbian Nokia 808, which works fine with a 64GB card.

Edit: my 64GB card is a SanDisk SDXC card. This is the exact card on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QZH6JS/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I recommend the Skullcandy Ink'd 2.0 ear buds. Amazing sound quality, durable, and the price is easy on the wallet. http://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-S2IKDY-003-Earbud-Headphones-Black/dp/B007136EDG

u/GritsNGreens · 1 pointr/windowsphone

Exactly what I was thinking! I saw this and it looks like it may fit the bill. One of the reviews mentions using it with a Dell Venue 8 tablet to stream Xbox games which is brilliant.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FLLFM0Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1465997422&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=xbox+controller+phone+mount&dpPl=1&dpID=41Ci7Pjm8oL&ref=plSrch

u/tiwahu · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I use an A2DP receiver powered by USB. The phone pairs to both (the receiver for music and the car as a headset). Pretty sure that this is the one I use. Supports NFC for tap to pair. The output of the receiver goes into the car's AUX jack. Pretty simple. Works good enough for me and my Live Music Access app.

u/Bismuth-209 · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I have one from this company, but I advise you to go with http://www.armorsuit.com/cell-phones/microsoft/microsoft-lumia-950-xl-screen-protector.html because of the success rate of applying the glass ones (1/4 chance with laser precision on my part)

The Armorsuit ones use a wet application process, which means they can be adjusted for awhile. They're also self-healing, bubble-less, and usually don't have as much dust (cross contamination is reduced, which was a probem with the dry application glass ones)

u/FeetOnGrass · -1 pointsr/windowsphone

If you are talking about the below link,

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-640-Unlocked-International-Warranty/dp/B00WT9KSE8/ref=sr_1_5?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1451402349&sr=1-5&keywords=lumia+640

I would advice you not to buy that, as it is just an unlocked AT&T 640, marked up to twice the original price. Unlocking from AT&T is free and simple. You can just go for the $47 AT&T version and search this subreddit for the easiest way to unlock it.

u/theusualuser · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I've got this one, in colors that match the phone. It's pretty nice. A tiny bit looser at the top than I'd prefer, but overall very solid. I really dislike the flipout stands, so this was the best I could find.

u/JohnAV1989 · 4 pointsr/windowsphone

I have [this!] (http://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-NFC-enabled-Bluetooth-Receiver-System/dp/B009OBCAW2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381356437&sr=8-1&keywords=bluetooth+receiver). I come home tap my phone on the Bluetooth receiver and wham! Crystal clear audio pumping on my '74 Harmon Kardon receiver. It's a beautiful thing.

u/bbalanced · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

I use a combination of the Tudia case and a screen protector. Works great except I had to trim the screen protector a bit as the case was making it bubble up on a couple edges.

Got the Tudia because it provides a raised ridge (1.5mm or so) around the screen, and another raised ridge (~1mm) around the camera lens. Doesn't add much bulk beyond that, and rounds off the corners/edges nicely.

u/whatsgoodmonica · 1 pointr/windowsphone

a work around for this would be to get an auxillary to bluetooth adapter like the one in this link. I have it myself and its pretty awesome. it also has nfc so you can tap to pair if you choose to do so.

http://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-NFC-Enabled-Bluetooth-Receiver-System/dp/B009OBCAW2/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1416175166&sr=8-13&keywords=aux+to+bluetooth

Bought one on Amazon and if gave new life to my 950.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZIMZM8/

The date on the one I received appears that it was recently produced. I'm totally happy with it.

u/queentut16 · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I got this one for my 950. Shipped fast, same as my original battery, and seems to work just fine. Though I also think CU tanked battery life. That's when my original one really went downhill.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MZIMZM8/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Rashkh · 1 pointr/windowsphone

You can pick up a T-Mobile prepaid 640 for $100. That's what I did.

Edit: Looks like they're gone now. I know that Microsoft and WalMart definitely had them.

Edit 2: According to the reviews here, the ATT version will work on T-Mobile 4G.

u/fiddle_n · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

Speak for yourself: British owner of an original cyan Nokia Lumia 620 here. I haven't seen anywhere where they sell the phone with an orange case, but you can buy the cases from Amazon in Germany. In the UK, you can buy the exact same product directly from Amazon, proving that this is the real deal.

u/CalmEscape · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

I use the Screenbeam mini2 Continuum Edition
https://www.amazon.com/ACTIONTEC-ScreenBeam-Mini2-Continuum-SBWD60MS01/dp/B017KUKHWS- it works well and has a usb option for hooking up a wireless keyboard and mouse or other usb device like a usb stick.

u/TheCauldron · 1 pointr/windowsphone

Get your prices right. Also, big surprise, a phone without LTE is cheaper than a phone with LTE. Why don't you compare the non-LTE Moto G to the 630?

amazon.de:

u/frodeaa · 1 pointr/windowsphone

Uh, the 635 doesn't record at 1080p, much less 4k. A class 6 would be fine for him, although the lowest amazon seems to sell is class 10.

http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Memory-Frustration-Free-Packaging-Version/dp/B009QZH6JS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1417020112&sr=8-2&keywords=64GB+microsd

Cheaper at only $25 and it'll be plenty good enough for a 635.

u/xevilrobotx · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

I use this one and it is great (and made for the xbox one controller), but I had to drill out part of it when I got my S controller because the plastic part pushes in the sync button on the new design: https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Smart-Clip-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFM0Q

u/Baldish · 1 pointr/windowsphone

The only real place I can buy from currently is amazon. I found a 635 for $50. If I go with this one, am I right to think I won't have to talk to AT&T at all and just use the phone out of the box? http://www.amazon.com/AT-Nokia-Lumia-635-Contract/dp/B00LBFFSNM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417444869&sr=8-1&keywords=Lumia+635

u/kgyre · 3 pointsr/windowsphone

The 630 has a much better screen, but it's larger and slightly heavier. The 520 is already available for $40. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E45043A

u/knowah1 · 2 pointsr/windowsphone

Ok, so I mistyped a bit. the 520 is on AT&T, the 521 is on T-Mobile, sorry about the confusion.

The 521 is the supposed increase in processor, but I can't find any information on Nokia's site and wikipedia states they are the same, aside from slightly different dimensions.

The 520 is $99.99 on Amazon.

The 521 is $94.99 on Amazon.

u/slipstream37 · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I think I read that most phones don't even have support for UHS-2 or UHS-3. Did you mean U3?

I too had the SanDisk Ultra. It took decent 1080p, but couldn't do much more.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IIJ6W4S/ref=pe_385040_30332200_TE_item

u/exiva · 0 pointsr/windowsphone

time for this. ..but srsly, what's the problem here? Class 6 is a bit on the slower side. and if capacity is the problem there's 64gb cards, etc.
