Tara K. Harper wrote a whole series of fantasy books with a protagonist that's bonded to a wolf - think the first one is Wolfwalker.

There's also Elizabeth Bear & Sarah Monette's A Companion to Wolves and sequel The Tempering of Men, though their blunt and deliberate subversion of the Anne McCaffrey-style dragonrider-mating trope means you need to be prepared for graphic nonconsensual sex scenes.
