There is also "hobby" fans that a bit more powerful then PC fans but still the same size. I had these an they work really well. IIRC this same company has fans with a higher CFM.

I have this same box, and pump, and let me tell you: get a dual fan setup for airflow. Mine conked out the first time I used it because it overheated. I then got this and used two of these to more effectively cover the holes I cut for the fans. Airflow is great, and the thing probably stays cooler than it would have sitting outside of the box.

My pump is set up to come out the front left of the box (because I plan to install a second pump solely for sanitary transfers) and the fans are positioned directly behind the pumps on the back, but the fans should work almost as well in your set up.

I've done something similar. I've used both 120vac fans, as well as a temp controlled fan controller. Highly recommend the controller : Coolerguys Programmable Thermal Fan Controller with LED Display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002PNL0F4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Dm96ybZ5Q78R4

For my media center, I used this set of 2 120mm 120vac fans - they work excellently. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009P0R6VC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here's that fan I was speaking of in another post - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009P0R6VC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 if you get the two fan version you can have one fan as a hot air exit fan and the other as a fresh air draw fan to create airflow cycle.

These because I'm too lazy to do any wiring.

Hi,

Thank you for replying! I was hoping the firmware would help with temperature issues, that's why I asked the question in the first place (to see if updates helped at all). I understand there are constraints with the form, soI'm not expecting anything even average. I was just hoping that I could run a bare minimum (at Surface pro 2 level) if I used these fans in a set up such as this. However, that example picture is an 80mm fan. However, can I ask a couple questions from your experience? How hot is the tablet when you're doing tasks such as youtube open on half of the screen, and say Onenote on the other half of the screen? Or perhaps even if you had four youtube windows open for about 5 minutes, how hot does it get? My primary options are between the i7 and the i5 256gb models, and I'm just trying to gauge how big of an issue heat really is. From both of the posts, it doesn't seem like everyday "power" use (multiple videos and programs open at once) really affects the tablet at all, only gaming and "high end" software.

How often is your SP3 "laggy?" The primary reason I shy away from portable electronics is because they've never offered me a solid, unstaggered experience (and this macbook is DEFINITELY no exception).

I understand it's not going to be as great as my desktop, but how often are you thinking "oh darnit, why is it loading so slowly?" My macbook has this problem maybe once or twice a week (rainbow wheel), but otherwise is fine (and my prior tablets always had these issues).

Thank you for replying, and thank you for your help!

I really appreciate your input!

[This] (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-2-Shelf-Storage-Cabinet/8206250) is pretty close to your space requirements and won't look out of place. Although you'll have to push it in and out due to the narrow space. Easy to cut into as well. Get creative with stacking items around it to hide wires and vents. Low decibel 120 and 140mm computer fans work great for air flow from my understanding. Noctua and Corsair make reliable, quiet (22 - 25 dB), fans with good flow ([this one] (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608044) is kinda high end but you can often find twin pack Corsairs ~$24 USD)

If you want to avoid wiring the fans to a 12v DC adapter, you can try [one of these twin fan kits] (https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-AI-120SCXD-Control-Cabinet/dp/B009P0R6VC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1467171922&sr=8-4&keywords=120mm+AC+fan) but they have a little higher noise.

I don't have personal experience with a stealth box but this is what I found some growers in your situation to be doing. In a box like that you'd want to switch your light cycle at 8 - 10 inches.
