From any retailer. Be sure to keep the processor/GPU at 970M minimum. Feel free to up it to 980M if you need more power. You can also opt for a 256SSD if you have a super large steam library.

Or this one, same suggestions as above.

This one's a bit heavier, but comes with the beefier 980M

Go for the one with 128/970M if you want to save some money.

okay, you could get that, which is a really good choice, or THIS
980M and an SSD.
4k gaming doesnt really matter to me and then i cant really wait for august/september unfortunately today my laptop has stepped closer to dying and lasts about a hour before freezing so i would like to buy a laptop as soon as possible. The only changes to the op i made would be preferring 15 inch, however i believe the 980m will be sufficient for what i am looking for if you can provide your opinion on what the best laptop is for what i am looking for (in another very similar topic someone suggested https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0161CFAQY/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thpcgaha-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0161CFAQY&linkId=bc2348033520f32c1cf3d2ebc209dd8e).
Basically im pretty bad with seeing different specs and how they relate and all advice is greatly appeciated!

Found it. Acer Predator 15 G9-591-70XR I'd still like to see if someone can provide some other options.

You are correct 100% on battery life with their machines. You basically have to have them connected all the time if you are doing anything that really makes them work. The is the Acer: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0161CFAQY/ref=twister_B016P5U9J0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 The Acer laptop that I am looking at weighs a bit less due to it being 15.6" instead of the 17.3" Asus and has a longer battery life by quite a bit actually.
Since you are welling to go over 1500 for something more powerful then I would recommend the Acer Predator the specs are
Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.6 GHz (6 MB Cache)
16GB DDR4 Dual-Channel Memory
1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive, 256GB Solid-State Drive
15.6-inch Full HD Screen, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM

With your budget and gaming expectations I would get a 980M laptop. Usually, they don't have very good battery life, but I did find one: what about the [Acer Predator 15 G9-591-70XR] (http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-G9-591-70XR-15-6-inch-Notebook/dp/B0161CFAQY)?
Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.6 GHz, 15.6", 1920 x 1080, 16 GB, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980M, Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
Here is the gaming performance you can expect from a 980M GPU:

(scroll down to Game Benchmarks)
I think that should give you excellent gaming performance today and a reasonable one for the newer games in 3-4 years.
