Got a new monitor that's 1080p and 75Hz for $89 on Amazon: Acer SB220Q bi 21.5" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Ultra-Thin Zero Frame Monitor.

The color is incredible since it's an IPS display, and for me it's a perfect screen size, since it's not too big or small, and since I personally can't tell the difference in this size between 4K and 1080p.

The base is a little larger than I'd like, but it's not wobbly and there is a universal mount on the back if you prefer to use your own custom stand.

just look for low ms and either IPS if you care about colors or viewing angles or TN if you don't

edit: this one from acer is 1080p, for pc use it can reach 75hz and supports AMD freesync, it's IPS and 4ms response time (anything 5 or under is good enough for gaming) for only 90 bucks

To save on money I'd definitely go with something like this; the AMD processor shown here has a Radeon Vega 8 integrated GPU so you don't need a dedicated graphics card until (if) you decide to upgrade.

If you take u/x3lr4's advice and upgrade to a gen 3 Ryzen, know you will most likely have to update the BIOS of the motherboard before it will work. It isn't really difficult, but you should be aware that will be a thing to do before you swap it out.

Another way to save a bit of money is to go with 8GB ram instead of 16. It's true that the GPU/CPU will be sharing the system memory with an integrated chip, but the graphics will be more limiting than the RAM.

There's a pretty decent inexpensive monitor from Acer here. Only $89 and still 2k. It has HDMI but no display port. Still though, its good enough for a Vega 8 machine. With these two changes to the above list, you'd save $100 from switching monitors and ~$40 from dropping to 8GB ram. You'd be pushing costs out to when you upgrade rather than when you are loading in, but it would be worth it.

A Ryzen 5 2400G has an integrated Vega 11 GPU; this benchmarks much better than the Vega 8 (they are almost if not completely identical hardware, but the 11 has all the features "turned on") and would cost you ~$40 more. If you drop to 8GB ram, I'd say the money would be used better here. You get a better CPU and better graphics, without having to spend the money on a separate card. This still benchmarks worse than the RX570 suggested in another post, but a dedicated card will always be better. This processor still would give you ~78FPS in CS:GO and ~89FPS in LoL. If you want a build with a dedicated graphics card, its hard to beat u/Pillclinton710's list.

• this cpu has very balanced and decent multithread performance and the single thread performance is very good, both of which are used in music production. games tend to favor single thread performance over multi but both hit the right mark here. intel cpu's play along well with hackintosh, unlike ryzen. this cpu includes a fan and paste, unlike something like the 8600k, which makes it a better deal for this build

• the rx 570 can play far cry 5 on ultra at 50-70fps for a good example

Why are you looking for a new 144hz monitor in the first place? Yours is just fine, unless you really want 2 monitors. In that case, I would point you to a cheaper 75hz unit. Trust me, the money you would have saved would be worth more than the features you gain, which you'll forget about in a couple of days.

Also, if your set on a 1440p panel, it wouldn't be worth it if you value frame rate more, as a GTX 1080 would struggle at 1440p144hz at medium-high setting in current titles.

Something like this should be good. Basically any desktop PC with a GTX 1660 ti graphics card should be good. Other good graphics cards are a GTX 1070, GTX 1070 ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080 ti, RTX 2060, RTX 2070. For a bit less money that is ok but not great, there's the GTX 1660 or the GTX 1060 6GB. All of those graphics cards should have the DisplayPort built right in.

You'll also need a monitor or just use your TV. Here's a cheap monitor and here's a cheap 27 inch monitor. Many PCs come bundled with a mouse and keyboard, but if they don't here's a cheap red dragon mouse/keyboard. If you want a nicer mouse or keyboard, anything by logitech is fantastic.

oh yeah, you've probably also already heard of it, but there is also the Oculus Quest headset. It doesn't have as many games and doesn't have as good of graphics, but it's totally wireless and doesn't require a PC at all.

I'm really shooting for best bang for buck. I work hard I want my dollars to too. 144 frames a second seems really overkill to me. Back in Nam a grunt only needed 60 fps to kill Charlie. Does it really make that big of a difference? I play shoot em up bang bangs sometimes, but really my thing is MMOs (I had a year played in Vanilla before TBC launched). Also am I building at a bad time? I guess AMD is launching another chip soon? Sorry for my randomness.

That is an awful deal for the 60hz monitor. Go with this monitor as your secondary. Next, drop the cpu cooler as the stock cooler is fine. Next, I got you a MB that has integrated WiFi and saved you $30. Now you could keep the savings or upgrade to a 2080.

This acer monitor seems really good for the price, 75hz, 4ms delay and Freesync. I have no experience or knowledge about the color accuracy or other details. For 90 bucks it looks really modern and has good reviews.

I got this monitor on Amazon. It’s an Acer 1080p60 21.5”and looks smooth and vivid with my slim. Has an anti-glare finish so you dont have to close your blinds in the room like I do:( Ultra this bezel and has HDMI and VGA ports and you can switch inputs if you need to. I actually really love it and have been using it throughout college.

Only con is that it doesn’t have speakers so there’s no audio output directly from the monitor itself, and I still haven’t found a way to connect speakers to it yet.

Might as well go for this one. It's 90 USD, 75Hz, and looks really nice. The only issue it has, imo, is that it doesn't have the best colour space - only about 75-80% sRGB, which is why it's not my instant first pick for a monitor.

Siege should also be around 100 FPS, and a better CPU would help you get another 40 FPS or so.

If turning down your graphics has a significant impact on graphics, it's not the CPU's fault. Why do you need to have over 200 FPS? What is your monitors refresh rate? CS GO only uses 4 core/4 threads. Getting a 6 core/12 thread CPU will not help you in that game. Increased clock speed on those 4 cores will. The 3600 does have higher clocks, and 15% improved performance at the same clocks compared to yours. The 2600x, or even 2700x would not help you much. Maybe 10% maximum in CS GO.

There are games that will be very CPU intensive like the new Assassins Creed shown in this video (the Ryzen 1200 is on par with your CPU so look at that). But that game is just a massive CPU hog because of that all anti piracy "Denuvo" crap running in the background.

Maybe the reason for you feel lag is because you have Vsync on, and not a freesync enabled monitor? Or maybe freesync is disabled for some reason even though your monitor is capable.

If that is the case I would do a few things:

Get a cheap Freesync 75hz or higher refresh rate monitor. It'll look way smoother.

Overclock your CPU to 3.8 GHz using around 1.32v. Takes like 5 minutes if you havea b350 or b450 motherboard.

Overclock your memory to 3000MHz. If you only have 1 stick of memory, get a 2nd stick of the exact same brand, and model number. This could boost your performance a lot. A lot of people buy 3000mhz RAM, and don't bother to turn on the XMP profile of the RAM and just run at 2133. Having a single stick of RAM is also generally bad. Not because it's not enough RAM, but because 1 stick runs a lot slower than 2 sticks of the same kind in dual channel mode. If your system was a pre-build, this is most likely the case as they try to save money by getting a single stick.

It's super simple to build your own PC really. You have sites like pcpartpicker and youtube videos to help you, all you have to do is just follow the video guide.

For $400, it's very difficult to find a good prebuilt PC that can run the games you mentioned at 1080p normal settings at 60fps. You'll probably have to play at low settings if your monitor is 1080p.

The monitor seemed like it was brand new when we got it, not too long after we got it though, it started showing symptoms of a black screen and a few lines across the screen, now it displays it constantly and the colors of the lines are brighter and blocking the Windows home. I’ve heard of other users having this problem and even tried to switch cables but that did nothing for them or me. I’m not sure if this monitor was damaged when it arrived because it’s an LCD monitor and it says things like keeping it away from sunlight, moisture and rain. Also says to keep it in range of a room with -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit which I have done. We might have to get a replacement if I can’t figure anything else out by tomorrow. This is ridiculous.
