For the no cable box option, youll want to get one of these. Just allows you to decode the channels coming in and display them on a monitor.
The projector is a decent option, if you want to watch everything in 4:3. This will display no HD signals whatsoever. I'd look at something that does 1080i/1080p or at least 720p. Something like this would be a good start, but I have no experience with these. Only issue with this one, you'll have to figure out how to hook everything up over VGA, no component, HDMI, but it does have composite video.
Component projectors will probably be your best bet if you don't need HDMI, these can be found here. I'd see if you can swing any of these, that way you have a few options if you want to hook a few things up to it.
