This thicc girl is proud of her bezels and flaunts them around however if you could spare another $50, her cuter sister has a higher refresh rate and smaller bezels. I am sorry you had to read that, thought I'd try to make you laugh however I made cringe.

I have this monitor, the Acer XF250Q, which I think is the cheapest 240hz you can get. It's a really great monitor, and for its price I'd suggest anyone to get it.

u/PalebloodSky · 10 pointsr/Monitors

I'd say get this, it uses the same panel that's in all the 1080p 240Hz 1ms TN G-Sync Compatible monitors:

Check Acer XF250Q or Acer XFA240 or AOC G2590FX , all are on the Nvidia approved list for Gsync compatible and would be my top picks for $200-225 gaming monitor.

u/allage · 5 pointsr/buildapcsales

yeah theres literally no reason people should buy gsync monitors this day in age unless you want the fancy hdr ones or the 4k 144hz 4:2 version. like really this monitor costs $150~ more than this just because of gsync

haha nice response. I agree it's almost something you can't describe but it's so smooth when you play on 240hz.. maybe the ideal setup is dual monitor , one 240hz for gaming, and 1440p for producitity etc, as another person mentioned. If i had to choose one to prioritize it would be the gaming monitor but that might vary person to person.

Here is another good option on the market $250 by acer: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF250Q-Cbmiiprx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=sr_1_1

u/duncanh21 · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Yes, I have a 1050 Ti connected to this Acer monitor through HDMI and it supports 240hz. IIRC you specifically need HDMI 2.0b or newer for it to officially support it but YMMV I’m not sure.

u/avt1995 · 3 pointsr/buildapc

I would stay away from those 2 monitors unless you can get it for a really good price. The Asus is from 2013 and the Benq is from 2016 and neither have freesync or gsync. You can get a more up to date monitor with some type of adaptive sync for the same price or less.

If you plan to stick with Nvidia in the future, I would suggest a gsync monitor, but a lot of the freesync monitors today that say "gsync compatible" are also pretty good. Input lag isn't really all that noticeable with adaptive sync monitors unless you also have vsync enabled in game (should be disabled).

The Dell S2419HGF, can be found for $130-150 normally and is rumored to go on sale for ~$100 on BF which would be the best priced 144hz monitor and it is gsync compatible. There is also the Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx, which is a 240hz gsync compatible monitor currently on sale for $220 on amazon. Even if you can't push 240fps, it doesn't really matter as you have adaptive sync to match your monitor's refresh rate with the fps output.

Link for Acer: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF250Q-Cbmiiprx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=18Z75OZ71VTZH&keywords=240hz+monitor&qid=1574693229&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sprefix=240hz+%2Caps%2C463&sr=8-3

From personal experience, I would say to either go 24" 1080p 144hz or, if your pc can handle it, 27" 1440p 144hz. I have a 1080p 240hz gsync from msi and I regret not going up to 1440p instead. 240hz really is a waste of money unless you're an esports pro imo

Hey, thank you for the response and for sharing your knowledge. Lots of different things to consider.

I ended up coming across this deal on /r/buildapc and it was just too good to pass up so I ordered it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If I'm unhappy with it in any way I'll probably exchange it for a BenQ with DyAc.

u/TheDarkSwordsman · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I am not exactly sure what my nephew has, but I'm pretty sure it's this Acer XF250Q https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_7cz1DbTTWQ3BP

It's a 1080p 240hz monitor for $250, which I think is pretty worth it. It wasnt long ago that 1080p 144hz monitors were around $300 and didn't support Gsync.

u/Alccx · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I recommend this acer 24” 1080p 240hz display if you want a smaller screen. I currently own this and I love it.

u/kgilbert2515 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

If you are playing a majority of esports titles and are going with 2070 you could for something like this 1080p and 240hz.

u/CherryBlossomStorm · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This is a pretty good build.

That's a great CPU in all those games you mentioned. The 2600x ranges from 250-300+ fps in CS:GO. You could spend more and get an overclockable 9600k setup to really hit that 300fps minimum target.

For a 1080p 240hz monitor, that GPU is overkill. You can definitely spend less on the GPU if you want - consider a gtx1660.'

EDIT: This build is missing a monitor!! you are getting a 1080p240hz monitor right? or were you planning on something else? It'll be amazing in fortnite, pubg, and dota2. $300 for this one

As for WHY the other person spent so much on your GPU, they were probably just trying to hit your budget exactly haha

Sort of, except lots of 1080p 144Hz monitors run for around $200 and then this guy hits $200-$230 pretty often. So uh... Price difference is 0 best case scenario.

u/tnots · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

Got that, but I should add that i'm still beating the best price that either Amazon or other third party sites have set on a 'new' product. Since it's a monitor, it's not as tho this item degrades significantly when it is immediately removed from the box. Also, some monitors from this build have known defects, this item does not have any, which should help buyer confidence:

I bought this 240hz monitor for Fortnite.

Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx 24.5"

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Vi4WDbGK0SCNB

I play somewhat competitively and I would really suggest 240hz for FN, it seems to be a really good value for less than $1 per Hz. No noticeable input lag or anything. It's made my gameplay feel buttery smooth, and that's comparing it with my brother's 144hz, you can really notice it with building and editing in Fortnite.

u/Mav106 · 1 pointr/nvidia

Has anybody tried to see if Nvidia supports the Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx 24.5? Its a sweet monitor, but I do not want to waste my money on it if it won't work at 240hrz.

Thank you!!

The BenQ has some gimmicky features but thats about it. You can get the same quality of both of them out of this monitor which is less than $300 usd (not sure about CAD)

It's ok. It's well reviewed which is important, but the price is higher than i would go for those specs, and its the biggest absolute budget brand.

It does have speakers integrated which is a nice bonus if you dont have any.

There's no reason to get it over something like this though which is a lot cheaper, bigger, better brand and also has speakers.
https://www.amazon.com/Dell-D2719HGF-Response-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1080p+144hz&qid=1562782883&s=electronics&sr=1-3

But really I don't understand why you are buying a new monitor. you have a 1440p 144hz monitor that may have amd freesync. That's already much better than either of these. Maybe explain your usecase. Also i should clarify that many people at 144hz don't really care about freesync gsync as much, they are mostly beneficial at lower hz.

I think this is the monitor for you. exact size you seem to be wanting, g-sync,1080p, speaker, and 240hz!
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF250Q-Cbmiiprx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=1080p+240hz&qid=1562783128&s=electronics&sr=1-5
slightly pricier, but it seems like money isn't tight for you, and this would actually offer some benefits over that 1440p 144hz monitor you have.

Though perhaps your real issue is your gpu, and you should spend that money upgrading it, if you are getting poor performance.

This is probably going to be your best bet. Great performance, good looks, quiet, and I even managed to fit in a copy of Windows 10, but you can get it for free just with no watermark. You can easily get 144fps and even 240fps in most AAA games with this pc. If I were you, I would upgrade the monitor. Something like this monitor would work at a lower price point for 144fps, and something like this monitor at a higher price point, for 240fps. Let me know if you have any questions.
